Commentary on John 6 (2)
What trick would we come up with if we, like Philip, carefully calculated the price of our existence, which is equivalent to five barley loaves and two fish?
Aren't we like five loaves and two fish, unable to satisfy even one person properly?
If you calculate it, that's the only value.
Therefore, like Andrew, it is important to have faith to give it to the Lord.
Faith must always be able to ignore the calculations of reason and look only at the hand of the Lord.
Therefore, the fact that Christians know how to approach God (the truth) is an amazing blessing.
Even after knowing the knowledge of the truth, the hope of finally reaching that glory unfolds brightly through refinement through tribulation and patience. (Romans 5:3-4)
It is very burdensome to say these words as I am causing pain to my members and those who follow me with my words, but I hope you understand that I cannot avoid saying them again.
Although I learned the principles of dealing with sin and the flesh through the Book of Romans in 1997, but I would like to say that I applied it to myself for a very long time until I was able to deny myself, take up my cross, and pray to reach the end (theros) with the truth, following the Holy Spirit and the Bible.
When Thomas, a realist who likes to confirm everything with his own eyes, asked, ‘If we do not know where the Lord is going, how can we know the way?’ (John 14:5), the Lord answered, I am the way. (John 14:6)
That's right. Jesus Christ is the only way to God.
The fundamental purpose of studying the Bible is to know Jesus Christ and gain the truth, how to approach God.
On the way, we gain the inheritance that God has granted us.
This is a blessing.
There we possess the power, authority, and glory of God's children.
However, signs or faith in material blessings is perishable. (John 6:26-27)
The reason it is perishable is because it is not eternal.
The flesh withers like grass, and its glory quickly withers like the flowers of the grass. (1 Peter 1:24-25)
All theories, information, and useful things for the flesh are decaying.
But the Word of God lives forever and ever.
It's getting newer.
That is why Jesus asked, ‘Did you follow me because you saw a sign that I was the bread from heaven, or was it so that you could eat the bread you saw, become full, and make me your economic president?’ (John 6:26)
In fact, if the Lord were to ask us this question as to why we live a life of faith, how many believers would pass this interview that the Lord spoke of?
How many believers would agree that the Lord's Prayer has no material elements and is only spiritual?
To put it bluntly, the Lord's Prayer has absolutely nothing to say about things.
So, in John 6, when the Lord said that I am the living bread from heaven and whoever eats me will live forever, the confusion of the disciples who heard those words would have been expressed as a scandal (refer to the original language).
However, John 6:45 says, “It is written in the prophets: They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.
This is a message to believers who may be perplexed when it is said that Jesus Christ is not the guardian deity of humans who came from heaven, but spiritual food.
‘Is it hard to believe me? Not much fun, right? But don't worry! He seems to be answering, ‘Those who hear the word of God and know me will come to me.’
In fact, Jesus has this kind of courage.
But I didn't have that courage at first.
For countless years, I diluted again and again, conscious of people's ears.
But it's different now.
When it is said that faith is a treasure better than gold, it clearly means that true faith is not for everyone. (2 Thessalonians 3:2)
Therefore, salvation is not for everyone.
Regarding Israel, which is currently at war with Hamas, and building a temple just for them in the promised land given to them, although we will observe God's providence and pray for their salvation, their faith has nothing to do with salvation.
Although it is unlikely, if the Lord comes now, they will all be in the lake of fire.
Because they are rejecting Christ.
Therefore, there is no eternal life.
If the Son is in him, he has eternal life, but if he is not, he has no life and is under the wrath of God. If he does not know Christ, he does not know the truth, and if he does not know the truth, he cannot communicate with God.
So Paul speaks to the believers in the Ephesian church.
I hope that you will receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that your spiritual eyes will be opened to know God, his desire to call us into Christ, the riches of the inheritance we have received, and the great power we have already bestowed. (Ephesians 1:17-19)
These words are very important as a prayer topic for believers.
Only then is it the church of Christ.
I once read a book where a pastor said that he opened this section of the Bible and knelt down and prayed 100 times.
I would like to tell you to meditate on Romans 100 times to dispose of sin and the flesh, and to count the blessings you have in Christ.
However, many people have a faith that deals with God through a substitute, and the veil of that practice prevents them from seeing Jesus Christ as the food of life.
Isaiah even says that God blocked the eyes and ears of these believers so that they could not see or understand (Isaiah 6).
This is actually scary.
If you follow corruptible food, your wisdom and understanding will be clouded, and the blessing of knowing God will be dulled.
In the end, the world takes over both mind and body.
And then there are countless believers who become slaves of greed and become completely ruined, and then say, ‘My Heavenly Father, I am coming with my hands raised because I have no one to rely on.’
We are free to do what we want with our bodies, but we must not forget that we must take responsibility for the results.
“Verily, verily, I say to you, He that believes on me has eternal life” (John 6:47).
Eternal life is Christ himself, the bread of life.
Eternal life is a gift of God in Christ .(Romans 6:23)
If it's there, it's there, and if it's not there, it's not there.
And eternal life is knowing God and Christ (John 17:3).
Jesus says eat my flesh and blood.
By becoming one bread, one body, and one spirit with Jesus Christ, believers can eat and drink the body and blood of Jesus Christ, just as a fetus eats its mother's flesh and blood through the umbilical cord.
If this does not happen, we will become another race that has no relationship with Jesus Christ.
Different genealogies mean that the name is not in the Book of Life.
In Chapter 13, when Jesus was about to wash Peter's feet, Peter thought this was absurd and said, Teacher, how can you do that? That absolutely cannot be possible.
At that time, Jesus says, if I don't wash your feet, you have nothing to do with me.
Here, the word “you have nothing to do with me” means that I don’t have your portion, that is,no part in you.
The Jews are a people who jump up from their sleep whenhe talk about their portion, but when he say they have no portion, Peter gets impatient and asks, “Lord, washmy hands and my head too” (John 13:9).
Washing feet means receiving, becoming one, and through that, the fates of Jesus and his disciples are tied together.
So when Saul was arrested by Jesus while persecuting Christians, he asked, “Who are you?”, he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting” (Acts 26:15)
This means that persecuting His body, the church, or the saints, is the same as persecuting him, head of church.
And in John 6:53-54, “Jesus said to them, ‘Verily, verily, I say to you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoso eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life."
The big problem with Christianity now is that the new covenant, as stated in these words, is being obscured.
As a result, a big fool appeared who fraudulently claimed that the Book of Revelation was the new covenant.
When you tell them that God and humans become one through Jesus Christ, they nod their heads, but when you ask them if they actually believe in it and have the blessings of eternal life by eating and drinking, they become perplexed.
Therefore, “My flesh is real meat, and my blood is real drink” (John 6:55).
Therefore, even though it is clearly written, “My flesh is true meat, and my blood is true drink” (John 6:55), we see that many believers pursue worldly things and want to be satisfied.
It's just like a young child who doesn't follow his father but follows his neighbor's uncle.
“He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.” He is confirming again that the way to become one body is to eat Jesus Christ.
When we eat and drink the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of God, in Christ, He dwells in us and we in Him.
It is the new covenant.
Just as when you open a window and let the outside wind in, the inside and the outside mix, when a believer receives Christ through the gospel of Christ, he becomes one with Christ, eats and drinks in him, and becomes a complete child of God.
This is eternal life.
The entire salvation is included in that eternal life.
