Why was I born and where am I headed?
1. The purpose of God
Man was created to live happily in God.
God created us in his image.
Just as trees must live rooted in the soil and fish must live in water to be happy, humans were created to live happily in God.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”(Genesis 1:27)
2. Humans who disobeyed God
But because of sin, man's relationship with God was broken.
By disobeying God and choosing to live our own way, our relationship with God was severed and our happy life was lost.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”(Romans 3:23)
3. The results of Sin
As a result of sin, man has to go into hell after death.
God wanted people to live happily.
However, as a result of sin, which turned away from God, people fell into pain, disease, death, and futility.
And after death, they were punished by going to hell.
“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
(Revelation 21:8)
4. Human Efforts to Be Saved
The problem of sin cannot be solved through human effort.
People have tried to solve the problem of sin in many ways.
No amount of human effort, whether good deeds, religion, or philosophy, has solved the problem of sin.
“Although you wash yourself with soda and use an abundance of soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me,"(Jeremiah 2:22)
5. Jesus the Savior
God solved the problem of sin through Jesus.
Jesus is the Son of God who came as a human being.
He solved the problem of our sin by dying on the cross and rising again.
He is our savior.
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.(1Peter 3:18)
6. What must you do now?
Now you must believe in and accept Jesus as your Savior.
You must receive Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead, into your heart as your Savior.
The moment you believe in Jesus, your relationship with God is restored and you begin to live a happy life.
“That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”(Romans 10:9)
