☞ <Revelation> 2:17 - He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. (NIV); He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. (KJV); Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it. (NLT)
○ <Revelation> 2:17 is the message of Jesus Christ to all people, not just the church in Pergamum. It means to listen carefully to the message that the seven spirits say to the seven churches.
○ As I already mentioned in <Bible Matrix ⑦_101>, <Bible Matrix ⑦_153>, and <Bible Matrix ⑦_164>, "He who has an ear" means that 'one person stands up and reads <Revelation> aloud', and the church members 'must listen carefully to what he or she is reading’.
○ If you look at the record of the Bible, the precious verse that Jesus often used when making the final conclusion is “He who has an ear, let him hear….”. There is no human who does not have ears. Everyone has ears, but only those who realize the truth of what Jesus says can hear. Therefore, those who have ears are those who understand and realize, and those who believe and act (James 2:17, 2:26).
○ As I already mentioned in <Bible Matrix ⑦_108>, <Bible Matrix ⑦_109>, <Bible Matrix ⑦_153>, and <Bible Matrix ⑦_164>, ‘the spirit’ at this time is “the seven spirits before the throne of God the Father” as written in <Revelation> 1:4, which is ‘the advanced or state-of-the-art monitoring and communication systems’ sent out into the seven continents of the world (Revelation 5:6) to closely monitor the kingdoms and its nations as well as human activities and behaviors, especially hearts, minds, intentions and deeds.
○ As I already mentioned in <Bible Matrix ⑦_153> and <Bible Matrix ⑦_164>, the meaning of “He who overcomes” is defined in <1 John> 5:4~5 as (1) “He who believes that Jesus is the Son of God is the one who overcomes the world.” And (2) “but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved” in <Matthew> 24:13 is added to the definition.
☞ Also, this is the same meaning of “To him who overcomes and does my will or keeps my works to the end” in <Revelation> 2:26. But here, (3) ‘To him who keeps my works’ is added to the definition, and it means the one who testifies to the whole world that Jesus is the Christ (or Messiah) (1 John 2:22) and Jesus is the Son of God (1 John 5:5), and what Jesus did and said when he came to this world.
☞ To be specific, it refers to those who testified the word of God the Father and the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:2), and those who died righteously (the righteous) or were martyred holy (the holy) (Revelation 20:4) until the second coming of Jesus Christ c.AD 10,740~.
