When the end of the year is near,
poet/Kyubong Kim (Joseph Kim)
(Seoul Korea)
On the top slope of a dizzying rocky mountain.
nesting eagle
Fly over and catch a mouse.
I returned to the nest.
A cub as big as a mother.
Swallow, gulp, and look around for more food.
The little guy I grew up with couldn't taste this or that.
I'm twinkling my eyes at my mother who's sad.
As long as the heart beats and the eye and mind are alive,
There's always something lacking and something to be desired.
Unsatisfied, implicitly promising,
It is also life that you live from day to day.
The reality that needs to be solved and moved on, the life of regret
The morning sun rose, circling the wide expanse of the sky, westward
The evening repeats itself as if evening were coming.
As the end of the year draws near, why does the lack of a heavier and larger figure come?
