Summary:
Paul thanks God for the Corinthians because of the grace they’ve received in Christ. They’ve been enriched in speech and knowledge, the testimony about Christ has been confirmed among them, and they lack no spiritual gift as they await Jesus’ return. God will also sustain them to the end so they’ll be blameless, for He is faithful and has called them into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ.
Teaching:
“God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
God is true, faithful, and unchanging. He always fulfills the promises He has given us. To save us, He offered His only Son, Jesus Christ, as the atoning sacrifice on the cross. The God who has called us into deep fellowship with Jesus is faithful. Therefore, according to that calling, we should live in communion and close fellowship with Jesus.
Even though we are still weak and lacking, if we trust Him to hold and keep us to the end and surrender our lives before Jesus, He will guide our path, supply what we lack, and lead us to green pastures and quiet waters.
