Feel out of the loop : feel being left out
A : What's been going on around here?
B : Nothing much. Why?
A : I feel out of the loop after my vacation.
B : That's natural. There's a staff meeting later on this afternoon.
A : Good. Maybe that will help me catch up with things.
B : It's not an important one. It's about the company picnic.
A : In that case, it won't matter that I'm clueless in the meeting

* The chairman was consistently leaving Joseph out of the loop.
