We begin today’s program in China, after Hunan’s Changsha was devastated by floods, Tzu Chi volunteers delivered 441 Jing Si folding beds from Jiangsu to Changsha and distributed them to evacuated flood victims taking shelter at a school. With the Jing Si folding beds, the flood victims no longer have to sleep on the floor and can finally get some good sleep.
節目一開始,在中國湖南長沙發生水患後,慈濟志工允諾災民會送來福慧床,他們將四百四十一張福慧床,從江蘇運送到長沙一所學校發放給災民,有了福慧床,災民不需要再睡在地板上,並且可以好好休息。
2.肉毒救膀胱
In Taiwan, a former Ketamine addict experienced frequent urination and lower abdominal pain. After he got a checkup at the hospital, the doctor found his bladder capacity had decreased to less than ten percent of the normal capacity. To treat him, the doctor injected Botulinum Toxin, or Botox, which increased his bladder capacity. Since Ketamine causes permanent damage to our body, doctor suggested that we stay away from the drug to preserve our health.
在台灣,一個曾濫用K他命的人,出現頻尿下腹痛等症狀,他到醫院檢查後,醫師發現他的膀胱容量不到正常人的十分之一,為了醫治他,醫師施打肉毒桿菌來增加膀胱容量,由於K他命,會造成身體永久性的傷害,醫師呼籲千萬不可嘗試毒品。
3.子宮睡吊床
In Taiwan, about 20 percent of women suffer from uterine prolapse, a condition where the uterus slips down and patients suffer from frequent urination or leakage. In the past, many patients’ opted to remove the uterus to solve their problem. However, with a new medical treatment, doctors can use a medical mesh to lift the uterus and solve this medical condition.
在台灣,子宮膀胱脫垂的盛行率約百分之二十,因為子宮膀胱脫垂,造成她們頻尿漏尿,以往傳統手術得切除子宮,但現在醫師可以進行無張力陰道網膜,修補術解決問題。
4.力學人生(3)吳佳晉
Next we meet Wu Jiajin, a student from Kaohsiung’s Erling Elementary School. She is blind because she was born premature, but despite this situation, she never gives in to fate as she studies very hard and has developed her music talent. Inspired by her spirit and positive attitude, her classmates said that they should overcome their difficulties and not give up easily.
接著來看,來自高雄二苓國小的吳佳晉,因為早產視力全盲,儘管如此,她不向命運低頭,她勤於學習並培養自己的音樂才能,受到佳晉的精神及正向態度的影響,許多同學都說遇到困難時,要好好的堅持下去,不輕易放棄。
5.越語導覽圓夢
Also about a remarkable hard working girl in Kaohsiung, Kao Yongqi is a student from at Sin-Sing Elementary School. Her mother is a new immigrant from Vietnam. After she volunteered to be a docent introducing Moon World in Tianliao which is near her school, she found there are many good things Taiwan has to share. Therefore, she has studied very hard to learn Vietnamese because she hopes one day she can introduce the beauty of Taiwan to her grandmother and relatives in Vietnam. Her diligence allows her to obtain a prize from the National Immigration Agency. Now she is able to take her mother to Vietnam with her prize money.
也是傑出人物的報導,高雄新興國小學生 高詠琪,媽媽是越南新住民,詠琪加入導覽志工,介紹學校附近的田寮月世界後,發現故鄉台灣有好多故事,因此她努力學習越南語,因為她希望有一天能夠把台灣的美,介紹給越南的外婆和親戚,她的努力贏得移民署築夢基金,現在她終於能夠圓夢,與媽媽一起去越南。

6.台東尼好嗎(3)農業契機
Many farmers are turning to traditional agricultural practices for inspiration. One such food crop is red quinoa which was used by indigenous people in ceremonial meals. Quinoa comes in different colors ranging from bright red to yellow with nutritionists saying the food is rich in minerals and quite healthy. After Typhoon Nepartak, Taitung’s Taimali Township began to plant red quinoa to capitalize on this growing trend. This production was aided by Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology who provided free training for farmers to make this transition. Follow our report as we learn more about this crop and how it is Taimaili recover economically.
許多農民從傳統農業找到力量,其中 一項紅藜,是台灣原住民傳統祭典的食用穀物,成熟的紅藜會有很鮮艷的紅色,或是黃色。紅藜米也被醫學研究證實,有豐富礦物質 有益健康,就在尼伯特風災後,台東太麻里鄉興起一股紅藜栽種熱潮,這個現象的產生,主要是慈濟科技大學,無償培訓太麻里農民學習紅藜栽種技術,並積極協助農民轉型。接下來的報導,帶各位瞭解這個農作物,以及如何讓受災土地太麻里重新找回生機。
7.僵硬畫楊琇雲
60-year-old Yang Xiuyun in Kaohsiung suffers from depression and also physical stiffness, but she never stops painting. She had planned to hold her personal art exhibition, but had no one to help her set up the venue. Thankfully, Tzu Chi volunteers offered their assistance.
高雄一位畫家 楊琇雲,患有憂鬱症以及身體僵直卻沒有放棄繪畫,她原本預計七月一日舉辦畫展,但沒有人力協助布置畫展,慈濟志工及時伸出援手。
8.林凌鐵雕捐慈濟
Next we meet an artist working with a different media. 80-year-old Lin Ling creates his art work with metal. He often goes to a recycling company to find scrap metal, and turns them into attractive art work. He recently donated his work of art to Tzu Chi because he supports Tzu Chi’s ideologies. He visited the Taichung Jing Si Hall, when Master Cheng Yen was there to share his work with her. The Master praised the beauty of his creativity noticing each with their own unique meaning.
接下來帶各位認識不同領域的藝術家,八十歲的藝術家林凌,利用鐵來創作藝術品,他常到回收廠找尋廢棄鐵材,把它們變成迷人的藝術品,他非常認同慈濟的精神,所以最近把他的作品捐贈給慈濟,這天他來到台中靜思堂跟證嚴上人分享他的作品,上人讚嘆他的作品很有意境。
9.印環保青年
Moving our focus to Indonesia where a senior high school student, Kelvin, shoulders the responsibility to manage a recycling point in his community in Jakarta. On every recycling day, he invites his neighbors and friends to join the recycling effort. His determination to protect the environment has moved many.
在印尼有一位高中生 凱文,負責在雅加達的一個社區的環保工作,每一次的環保日,都由他來邀約街坊鄰居以及他的朋友來做環保,認真又負責的態度感動了許多人。
10.梅冬祺歸化
92-year-old Catholic Priest Father Pierre Mertens has served Taiwan for 65 years. During this time he has committed himself to humanitarian care, representing Taiwan at the Geneva Refugee Conference and giving a speech to the United Nations. In recent years, he has provided counseling and assistance to new immigrants. In appreciation for his efforts, the Executive Yuan provided him with a Taiwan ID.
高齡92歲的梅冬祺神父,服務台灣65年,致力於人道關懷工作,不但曾代表台灣出席日內瓦難民會議,在聯合國發表演說,近年來,為新住民提供各種生活、輔導和協助,他的特殊功勳與努力,經行政院核准,取得中華民國國民身分證的外籍人士。

After the Tzu Chi’s Da Ai Mobile Pantry delivered its first set of fresh fruits and vegetables, it has continued to help more people in need. In late June, the mobile pantry worked together with a local food bank at Huntington Park, California, to hold an aid distribution at Miles Avenue Elementary, where 170 households received fresh food.
