☞ <Revelation> 2:17 - He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. (NIV); He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. (KJV); "Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it. (New Living Translation)

○ What is Manna in the Old Testament? – As I explained in detail in <Bible Matrix ④>, the Israelites escaped from Egypt in BC 1,446, and during the 40-days Canaan exploration report, because those who made a bad report that the land was uninhabitable because of the Nephilim as the great man (Genesis 6:4, Numbers 13:25~33), LORD God punished the Israelites, so they had to live in the wilderness for 40 years (Numbers 14:34).

☞ And it was manna as the bread the LORD had given the Israelites to eat during 40 years (Exodus 16:13~36). In the morning, it meets dew, namely, when it meets water, it swells, and when the sun rises and the dew disappears, it becomes a thin round piece as flakes like frost or snow (Exodus 16:13~14). Today, corn flakes of cereal eaten with milk are a chemical powder compound. The Israelites ate only manna for 40 years (BC 1,446~1,406) before entering the land of Canaan (Exodus 16:35).

○ Hidden or disappeared manna in the Old Testament – In Exodus 16:32~34, the descendants of Israel put manna in a jar and stored it in the Ark of Covenant (Ark of Testimony) to remember the manna for 40 years. This Ark of the Covenant was later placed in the Most Holy Place of the Temple of Jerusalem (First Temple) (1 Kings 6:16, 6:19), which was built completely in BC 959 by King Solomon (reign 970~BC 930) (1 Kings 6:1, 6:37~38, 2 Chronicles 3:1).

☞ However, the First Temple built by King Solomon was destroyed in BC 586 by King Nebuchadnezzar II (reign 605~BC 562) of the Neo-Babylonian Dynasty (2 Kings 25, 2 Chronicles 36:11~21, Jeremiah 39:1~10, 52:1~23, Daniel 1:1~2), and Nebuchadnezzar II carried all the articles from the Temple of Jerusalem to Babylon (Daniel 1:2). At this time, the Ark of the Covenant and the manna in the jar disappeared.

○ Background of Destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem and Babylonian Captivity - The destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem was caused by the rebellion of the Israelites against LORD God. From the 13th king of Judah, Manasseh (reign BC 696~BC 642) to the last king as the 19th king of Judah, Zedekiah (BC 597~BC 586), they built altars and served for the Gentile god Baal, they worshiped all the starry hosts (2 Kings 21:1~18, 2 Chronicles 33:1~9), and they defiled the Temple of Jerusalem and did evil. And as prophesied by Jeremiah (2 Chronicles 36:21, Jeremiah 25:11), the 70-year Babylonian Captivity or Babylon Exile (BC 605~BC 539) began under the punishment of LORD God.

○ Judaism’s Manna: Judaism believes that the jar of manna was hidden by Jeremiah or an angel when Solomon's temple was destroyed in BC 586. Then, it was thought that it would be revealed in the Messianic Kingdom in the future, and in <2 Baruch> 29:8, a prophetic book written by Baruch (Jeremiah 36:4), a disciple of Jeremiah (Jeremiah 36:4), it prophesies, “And it will happen at that time that the treasury of manna will come down again from on high, and they will eat of it in those years”, that is why Jesus says, “I will give some of the hidden manna” in <Revelation>2:17 as manna will reappear in the long distant future.

○ So, what is the manna that has been hidden away in heaven by Jesus Christ?
