주님의 일을 지킬 때 받는 복(24~29절)

선지자 이세벨에게 미혹되지 않은, 남은 사람들이 두라디라 교회에 있었습니다. 주님은 재림의 날까지 그들이 갖고 있는 것을 끝까지 지키라고 권면하십니다. 그리고 이기는 사람에게 만국을 다스리는 권세를 약속하십니다(26이기는 사람과 끝까지 내 일을 지키는 그에게 만국을 다스리는 권세를 주리니). 이기는 사람은 그리스도께서 철장으로 만물을 다스리시듯 그리스도의 왕권에 참여할 것입니다(27그가 철장을 가지고 그들을 다스려 질그릇 깨뜨리는 것과 같이 하리라. 나도 내 아버지께 받은 것이 그러하니라.;시2:9네가 철장으로 그들을 깨뜨림이여 질그릇 같이 부수리라 하시도다.). 그래서 마지막 날 하나님을 대적하는 원수 세력을 멸망시킬 것입니다. 또한 주님은 이기는 사람에게 새벽별을 약속하삽니다(28내가 또 그분에게 새벽 별을 주리라.). 예수님은 다윗의 뿌리요 자손이시며 광명한 새벽별이십니다(22:16나 예수님은 교회들을 위하여 내 사자를 보내어 이것들을 너희에게 증언하게 하였노라. 나는 다윗의 뿌리요 자손이니 곧 광명한 새벽 별이라 하시더라.). 이기는 사람은 새별별의 권세와 영광에 참여하며, 그리스도와 함께 왕적 지위와 통치권을 누릴 것입니다(3:21이기는 그에게는 내가 내 보좌에 함께 앉게 하여 주기를 내가 이기고 아버지 보좌에 함께 앉은 것과 같이 하리라.;5:10그들로 우리 하나님 앞에서 나라와 제사장들을 삼으셨으니 그들이 땅에서 왕 노릇 하리로다 하더라.).

󰋫 주님이 두아디라 교회의 이기는 사람에게 주신 약속은 무엇인가요? 이 땅에서 주님의 일을 끝까지 지키면 주님은 교회 공동체에게 어떤 상급을 주실까요?

좁은 길이 승리의 대로입니다                                                                                                                             -바라보는 삶/박신일

몇 년 전 미국의 한 여론 조사 기관의 발표에 따르면, 미국인의 67%가 “절대적 진리는 없다.”라고 믿는다고 합니다. 또한 그들 대부분은 “절대적 진리가 있다.”라고 주장하는 사람은 편협하고 관용을 모르는 사람으로 간주한다고 답하였습니다. 이는 비단 미국 내의 이야기가 아니라, 전 세계적 현상이 된 지 오래입니다. 절대적 진리는 없다는 생각과 함께 기독교적 가치관이 점점 주변으로 밀려나고 있는 것을 보게 됩니다.

모든 도덕적 가치가 중립적이고, 다른 의견을 가진 이에 대한 절충과 용납이 필요하다는 말은 얼핏 그럴듯해 보입니다. 어제 오늘 얘기도 아닙니다. 구약 시대부터 하나님 말씀을 중심으로 하여서 살던 이스라엘 사람들에게 다른 기준도 있다고 속이는 세력이 있었습니다. 그들은 여호와 하나님도 섬기고 바알도 섬기면 좋지 않겠냐고 회유하였습니다. 그런데 그렇게 주장하는 이들이 누구보다 잘 알고 있었습니다. 두 가지 신앙은 상대의 의미를 퇴색시키지 않고는 같이 존재할 수 없다는 것을 말입니다. 하나님을 예배하난 것과 바알을 숭배하는 것은 근본적으로 다르기 때문입니다. 선택은 언제나 ‘하나님이냐, 바알이냐’이지 ‘하나님과 바알, 둘 다’라는 선택지는 애초에 없는 것입니다.

하나님만이 진리이심을 외치는 것은 좁은 길을 가는 것입니다. 그러나 그 길을 가야만 하나님이 함께하십니다. 온전함과 거룩함을 향한 좁은 길은 승리의 대로입니다._두란노
