손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작마당을 정하게 하사                                                                                 (마3:1~17)  마3:1   그 때에 세례 요한이 이르러 유대 광야에서 전파하여 가로되Mat3:1   In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,마3:2   회개하라 천국이 가까웠느니라 하였으니Mat3:2   And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.마3:3   저는 선지자 이사야로 말씀하신 자라 일렀으되 광야에 외치는 자의 소리가 있어 가로되 너희는 주의 길을 예비하라 그의 첩경을 평탄케 하라 하였느니라Mat3:3   For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.마3:4   이 요한은 약대 털옷을 입고 허리에 가죽띠를 띠고 음식은 메뚜기와 석청이었더라Mat3:4   And the same John had his raiment of came's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.마3:5   이때에 예루살렘과 온 유대와 요단강 사방에서 다 그에게 나아와Mat3:5   Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,마3:6   자기들의 죄를 자복하고 요단강에서 그에게 세례를 받더니Mat3:6   And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.마3:7   요한이 많은 바리새인과 사두개인이 세례 베푸는데 오는 것을 보고 이르되 독사의 자식들아 누가 너희를 가르쳐 임박한 진노를 피하라 하더냐Mat3:7   But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?마3:8   그러므로 회개의 합당은 열매를 맺고Mat3:8   Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:마3:9   속으로 아브라함이 우리 조상이라고 생각지 말라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 하나님이 능히 이 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하시리라Mat3:9   And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.마3:10   이미 도끼가 나무뿌리에 놓였으니 좋은 열매 맺지 아니하는 나무마다 찍어 불에 던지우리라Mat3:10   And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.마3:11   나는 너희로 회개케 하기 위하여 물로 세례를 주거니와 내 뒤에 오시는 이는 나보다 능력이 많으시니 나는 그의 신을 들기도 감당치 못하겠노라 그는 성령과 불로 너희에게 세례를 주실 것이요Mat3:11   I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: heshall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:마3:12   손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작 마당을 정하게 하사 알곡은 모아 곡간에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불에 태우시리라Mat3:12   Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.마3:13   이 때에 예수께서 갈릴리로서 요단강에 이르러 요한에게 세례를 받으려 하신대Mat3:13   Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.마3:14   요한이 말려 가로되 내가 당신에게 세례를 받아야 할 터인데 당신이 내게로 오시나이까Mat3:14   But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?마3:15   예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 이제 허락하라 우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라 하신대 이에 요한이 허락하는지라Mat3:15   And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.마3:16   예수께서 세례를 받으시고 곧 물에서 올라 오실쌔 하늘이 열리고 하나님의 성령이 비둘기 같이 내려 자기 위에 임하심을 보시더니Mat3:16   And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:마3:17   하늘로서 소리가 있어 말씀하시되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라Mat3:17   And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.        예수님께서는 오히려 사람에게 세례를 받으시는 지극히 겸손의 모습으로 이 땅에 오셨습니다. 물론 더 낮아지게 사람의 모습으로 인간의 몸을 입고 오셨지요.   Jesus came to this world in utmost humility, even receiveing baptism from a human being. Of course, He humbled Himself even further by coming in the likeness of man and taking on a human body.  그렇듯 정말 신기한 일을 이루신 하나님이십니다. 그렇게 크신 분이 어떻게 작고 작은 모습으로 이 땅에 오실 수 있었을 까요?   He is God who accomplished truly astonishing and marvelous things. How could someone so great come to this earth in such a small and humble form?    한편으로는 하나님께서는 지극 정성으로 이 땅을 창조하시고 또 인간의 몸으로 오실 수 있으실 정도로 사람을 가장 하나님의 형상에 가장 가깝고 근접하게 근사하게 만드신 것을 알게됩니다.   On the other hand, we come to realize that God created this world with utmost care and devotion, and that He made human beings in such a wonderful way-so close and similar to the image of God-that He could even come to this earth in a human body.    우리가 사랑하여 만든 어떤 것에는 요즘 사람들이 속어로 자신을 갈아 넣는 다는 말을 하더군요. 그토록 자신의 시간, 체력, 정신력을 엄청 소모하면서 최선을 다했다는 뜻이겠지요.   These days, people sometimes use the slang expression‎ "to grind oneself down" for something they created with love and devotion. I suppose it means they pouted in their utmost effort, consuming so much of their time, energy, and mental strength.    우리의 모습속에 하나님의 형상을 찾을 수 있다는 것은 정말 기쁜일입니다. 혹여 살면서 좋은 것 아름다운것들을 들여다 보게 될 때 참인 것을 볼 때도 있구요.   It is truly a joyful thing that we can find the imahe of God within ourselves. Sometimes in life, when we look upon things that are good and beautiful, we are also able to catch a glimpes of whet is true.     하지만 너무 가식과 거짓에 둘러쌓여 살아가다 보면 정말 참인 것은 어디 있을까를 다시 한번 걸음을 멈추게 되기도 합니다.   However, when we live surrounded by so much hypocrisy and falsehood, we sometimes stop in our tracks and begin to wonder once again where true truth can really be found.       오늘 예수님께서 세례요한에게 찾아와 세례를 하는 중 하나님께서는 예수님께 집중되셨습니다. 수많은 사람들이 세례요한에게 다가와 세례를 받는 상황이었지만 유독 예수님께만 그의 머리위로 하늘의 문이 열려 하나님께서 직접 말씀하셨습니다.   Today, as Jesus came to John the Baptist to be baptized,God's attention was especially focused on Him. Although many people were coming to John the Baptist and receiving baptism, it was uniquely upon Jesus that the heavens were onened above His head, and God Himself spoke directly to HIm.   그는 나의 사랑하는 아들이요 나의 기뻐하는 자라고요. 하나님께서 가장 사랑하는 아들의 모습을 보시고 너무도 기뻐하셨다는 것이에요.  "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." God was so pleased as He looked upon the One He loves most.
