바울은 성도를 사모하는 형제들을 기쁨이자 면류관이라고 부르며 따뜻한 마음으로 조언해야 할 내용을 전합니다. 믿음의 경주를 마치기 위해 하늘의 시민권자로서 반드시 추구해야 할 덕목들입니다. 우리가 영광스럽게 주님의 날을 맞으려면 어떤 모습을 보여야 하는가? 공주야! 조선왕조에서 인수대비는 무려 6대 왕조를 만들어낸 입지적인 인물이다. 조선 제9대왕 성종의 어머니이자, 폭군으로 알려진 연산군의 할머니로서 더욱 유명하다.

Paul calls the brothers, who adore the Saints, joyous and well-wishers, and offers warm hearted advice. These are virtues we must pursue as citizens of heaven in order to complete a race of faith. What should we show to celebrate Lord's Day with honor? Princess! In the Joseon Dynasty, Insu was a well-positioned figure who created six generations of the dynasty. He is even more famous for being the mother of King Seongjong, the ninth king of the Joseon Dynasty, and the grandmother of Prince Yeonsan, who is known as a tyrant.

인수대비는 시아버지 세조가 왕위에 오르는데 공을 세운 1등 공신이고 남편의 죽음으로 잃어버렸던 왕비 자리를 대신해 자신의 어린 둘째 아들을 왕으로 만들면서 대비 자리에 올라 세조,덕종,예종,성종,연산군,중종까지 무려 6대 왕조에 걸쳐 영향을 끼쳤단다. 빌립보 교회가 처음 세워질 때 여인들이 중요한 역할을 감당했는데 그 중에는 재력이 있는 여인들도 있었다. 자연스레 그녀들은 교회에서 지도력을 발휘하게 되었다.

그런데 에바브로 디도를 바울에게 보내는 건으로 지도력 있는 두 여인 사이에 미묘한 갈등이 생겨났어. 이제 교회 공동체는 이 두 여인의 갈등을 함께 풀어야 할 상황이다. 더구나 유대주의자들의 신학적 정치적 공격은 머지않은 미래에 핍박과 환난으로 번질 수 있는 형국이었으니 교회는 내적, 외적 문제에 슬기롭게 대처해야했어. 영향력 있는 두 여인 유오디아와 순두게의 다툼으로 흔들리고 있는 교회를 향해 바울은 "주 안에서 같은 마음을 품으라."고 하며 성도들이 이 일을 도우라고 권고하였다.

However, sending Evavro Dido to Paul created a delicate conflict between the two leading women. The church community is now in a situation where the conflict between these two women must be resolved together. Moreover, the church had to wisely deal with internal and external problems because the theological and political attacks of Jews could lead to persecution and hardship in the near future. Paul advised the saints to help with this, saying, "Be the same in the Lord," toward the church, which was shaken by the quarrel between the two influential women, Yuodia and Sunduge.

바울은 이것을 두 사람이 알아서 해결할 개인적인 문제로 보지 않고 교회 공동체 전체가 함께 풀어가야 할 숙제로 제시한다. 다툼과 분쟁은 교회의 정체성을 해치는 것이며, 포용과 화해는 복음의 본질에 관한 것이기 때문일 것이다. 교회나 나라나 어디든지 말썽을 일으키는 사람은 예외로 열심 있는 사람들이다. 전생에 나라를 구한 일꾼(개국공신)의 열심이 정변을 일으키고 교회를 뒤흔드는 법이다.

Paul does not see this as a personal problem that the two will solve on their own, but presents it as a homework that the entire church community must solve together. Arguments and disputes harm the identity of the church, and inclusion and reconciliation are about the essence of the gospel. Those who cause trouble in church, country, or anywhere are exceptionally eager people. The hard work of a worker (national contribution) who saved the country in his past life causes coup and shakes the church.

데이비드 폴리슨이란 학자는 그의 책 <악한 분노, 선한 분노>에서 사람의 분노의 뿌리에는 내가 하나님이 되어 세상이 나를 중심으로 돌아가야 한다는 가치 판단이 자리 잡고 있다고 하더라. 상황을 내 마음대로 통제하고 싶은 욕구 그 밑 뿌리에는 하나님보다 더 사랑하는 내 자아가 있다. 바로 그 근원적인 죄다. 이 상황에서 바울은 교회가 굳게 서기 위해 "기뻐하라"고 말한다. 관용을 베풀라는 것이야. 내가 그 상황을 내 중심으로 통제하고 지배하려는 마음을 내려놓고, 그리스도께서 가지셨던 바로 그 마음을 품으라는 뜻이다(빌2;5). 그것이 가능한 이유는 주의 날이 가깝기 때문이다.

A scholar named David Polison said in his book "Vicious Fury, Good Fury" that at the root of a person's anger lies a value judgment that I should become God and the world should revolve around me. Underneath the desire to control the situation at my heart is my self, who loves me more than God. It is that fundamental sin. In this situation, Paul says, "Be happy" for the church to stand firm. It means to give tolerance. It means that I should put down my mind to control and dominate the situation around me and embrace the very heart that Christ had (빌 2;5). The reason why it is possible is that the day of the Lord is close.

그 날을 믿기에 핍박을 받아도 기뻐하고 비난을 받아도 관대할 수 있다. 반 세기를 살아 보니 염려와 걱정이 나를 지켜주지 못하더라. 감사로 드리는 기도 속에서 하나님의 평강이 내 마음과 생각을 지켜주실 것이야. 마지막으로 바울은 교회가 굳게 서기 위해 "생각하라" 그리고 "행하라"고 말한다. 성도들은 먼저 참되며, 경건하며, 옳으며, 정결하며, 사랑받고 칭찬받을 만한 미덕에 관해 주의 깊게 생각해야 해. 물론 도덕적 선함이 중요할 지라도 성도의 행함의 근거는 도덕이 아니라 복음이란다.

You can be happy and generous even if you are persecuted because you believe in that day. After living for half a century, my worries and concerns have protected me. In the prayer of gratitude, God's peace will protect my heart and thoughts. Finally, Paul says, "Think" and "Do" to ensure that the church stands firm. Saints must first think carefully about the virtues that are true, reverent, correct, clean, and deserve to be loved and praised. Of course, moral goodness is important, but the basis for the conduct of the saints is not morality, but the gospel.

아무 것도 염려하지 말고 모든 일에 기도하라는 의미는 구한 것을 무엇이든 다 들어주시겠다는 것이 아니다. 기도 안 해도 되는 상황이나 문제는 없다는 뜻일 것이고 하나님의 능력을 제한하지 말라는 것으로 본다. 영광스럽게 주의 날을 맞으려면 교회는 어떻게 실천하며 살아야 하는가? 나는 주안에서 굳게 서있는가?

The meaning of praying for everything without worrying about nothing does not mean that you will listen to whatever you have obtained. It will mean that there is no situation or problem that you do not have to pray, and I see it as not limiting God's power. How should the church live and live to honor the Day of the Lord? Do I stand firmly in the Lord?

평강의 주님, 세상에서 지혜가 하나님 나라에서는 어리석은 일일 수 있나이다. 하나님 나라의 질서를 알지 못해 아내와 그리고 이웃과 다투고 산 날들을 용서하옵소서. 하나님께서 나를 구원하셨으니 다른 사람의 구원을 내가 돕는 것 때문에 누리는 기쁨을 다시 회복하게 하옵소서.   

Wisdom in the world, O Lord of the Peace, can be foolish in the kingdom of God. Forgive me for the days I fought with my wife and neighbors because I did not know the order of the kingdom of God. God has saved me, so let me restore the joy I enjoy for helping others save.
