열왕기하13장 말씀입니다.

1. 유다 왕 아하시야의 아들 요아스의 제이십삼년에 예후의 아들 여호아하스가 사마리아에서 이스라엘을 통치하기

    시작하여 십칠 년 동안 통치하며

In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years. 

2. {주}의 눈앞에서 악한 것을 행하여 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄들을 따르고 거기서

    떠나지 아니하니라.

And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom. 

3. {주}의 분노가 이스라엘을 향해 타오르매 그분께서 그들을 그들의 평생 동안 시리아 왕 하사엘의 손과 그의 아들

    벤하닷의 손에 넘겨주셨더라.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all [their] days.

4. 여호아하스가 {주}께 간청하매 {주}께서 그의 말에 귀를 기울이셨으니 이는 시리아 왕이 이스라엘을 학대하므로

    그분께서 그들이 학대받는 것을 보셨기 때문이라.

And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.

5. ({주}께서 구원자를 이스라엘에게 주시매 이스라엘 자손이 시리아 사람들의 손 밑에서 벗어나 이전과 같이 자기들의

    장막에 거하였으나

gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime. 

6.그럼에도 불구하고 그들이 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 한 여로보암의 집의 죄들에서 떠나지 아니하고 그 가운데서

   걸었으며 또 사마리아에도 작은 숲을 남겨 두었더라.)

Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, [but] walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria. 

7. 시리아 왕이 백성 중에서 기병 오십 명과 병거 열 대와 보병 만 명 외에는 백성을 여호아하스에게 남겨 두지

    아니하였으니 그가 그들을 멸하고 타작하여 티끌같이 되게 하였더라.

Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.

8. 이제 여호아하스의 남은 행적과 그가 행한 모든 일과 그의 권력은 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기 책에 기록되어 있지

    아니하냐?

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

9. 여호아하스가 자기 조상들과 함께 잠들매 그들이 그를 사마리아에 묻으니 그의 아들 요아스가 그를 대신하여

    통치하니라.

And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead. 

10. 유다 왕 요아스의 제삼십칠년에 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 사마리아에서 이스라엘을 통치하기 시작하여 십육

      년 동안 통치하며

In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] sixteen years.

11. {주}의 눈앞에서 악한 것을 행하여 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 죄에서 떠나지

      아니하고 그 가운데서 걸었더라.

And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: [but] he walked therein.

12. 요아스의 남은 행적과 그가 행한 모든 일과 유다 왕 아마샤와 싸울 때 보여 준 그의 권력은 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기

      책에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?

And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

13. 요아스가 자기 조상들과 함께 잠들매 여로보암이 그의 왕좌에 앉으니라. 요아스가 이스라엘의 왕들과 함께

      사마리아에 묻히니라.

And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

14. 이제 엘리사가 죽을병에 걸려 아프게 되니 이스라엘 왕 요아스가 그에게로 내려가 그의 얼굴에 눈물을 흘리며

      이르되, 오 내 아버지여, 내 아버지여, 이스라엘의 병거와 그것의 기병들이여, 하매

Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.

15. 엘리사가 그에게 이르되, 활과 화살들을 취하소서, 하니 그가 활과 화살들을 취하니라.

And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.

16. 그가 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되, 왕의 손으로 활을 잡으소서, 하니 그가 손으로 그것을 잡으매 엘리사가 자기 손을

      왕의 손에 놓고

And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand [upon it]: and Elisha put his hands upon the kings hands. 

17. 이르되, 동쪽으로 창을 여소서, 하니 그가 열매 이에 엘리사가 이르되, 쏘소서, 하므로 그가 쏘매, 엘리사가 이르되,

      이것은 {주}의 구출의 화살 곧 시리아로부터 구출 받게 하는 화살이니 왕이 아벡에서 시리아 사람들을 치되 그들이

      소멸될 때까지 치리이다, 하니라.

And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened [it]. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORDS deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed [them].

18. 또 그가 이르되, 화살들을 취하소서, 하매 그가 취하니 엘리사가 또 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되, 땅을 치소서, 하매

      그가 세 번 치고 멈추므로

And he said, Take the arrows. And he took [them]. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.

19. [하나님]의 사람이 그에게 노하여 이르되, 왕이 대여섯 번을 치셨어야만 했나이다. 그리하였더라면 왕이 시리아를

      치되 그것이 소멸될 때까지 치셨으리이다. 그러나 이제 왕이 시리아를 세 번만 치리이다, 하니라.

And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed [it]: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria [but] thrice.

20. 엘리사가 죽으매 그들이 그를 묻으니라. 새해가 되매 모압 족속의 무리들이 그 땅을 침범하니라.

And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.

21. 그들이 어떤 사람을 묻을 때에, 보라, 그들이 사람들 한 떼가 있음을 알아차리고 그 죽은 사람을 엘리사의 돌무덤에

      던지매 그 사람이 밑으로 내려가 엘리사의 뼈에 닿을 때에 소생하여 자기 발로 일어섰더라.

And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band [of men]; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet. 

22. 그러나 여호아하스 왕의 평생 동안 시리아 왕 하사엘이 이스라엘을 학대하니라.

But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.

23.{주}께서 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 맺은 자신의 언약으로 인하여 그들에게 은혜를 베푸사 그들을 불쌍히 여기시고

     그들에게 관심을 두시며 그들을 멸하려 하지 아니하시고 아직 자신의 앞에서 그들을 쫓아내려 하지 아니하셨더라.

And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet. 

24. 이처럼 시리아 왕 하사엘이 죽고 그의 아들 벤하닷이 그를 대신하여 통치하매

So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.

25. 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 손에서 도시들을 다시 빼앗았는데 이 도시들은 벤하닷이

      여호아스의 아버지 여호아하스의 손에서 싸움을 통해 빼앗은 것이더라. 요아스가 벤하닷을 세 번 치고 이스라엘의

      도시들을 회복하였더라.

And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
