  Door 33 : Wibi(慰悲,위비 - Consoling Sorrow)... Comforting sadness or grief... Item 270.

慰悲(위비)는 남이 마음 아파하는 것을 위로하는 것이다.

  Wibi(慰悲,위비 - Consoling Sorrow) means offering comfort when others are

  in heartache or distress.

정치의 허물은 반드시 사람을 잃게 하며,

  Faults in governance inevitably lead to losing people′s trust and support,

재화의 과실은 당연히 사람을 머무르게 하는 것이다.

  whereas the fruits of material wealth naturally cause people to stay.

돌이켜서 위로를 한 후에 허물이 전의 허물보다 가벼우면 기뻐하고 허물이 없으면 일을 맡긴다.

  If, after reflecting and offering consolation, their fault becomes lighter,

  than before, one rejoices, and if there is no fault at all, one entrusts them with tasks.

慰悲者는 慰人之可悲也라 (위비자는 위인지가비야라)

  Wibi(Consoling Sorrow) meanscomforting that which is sorrowful in others.

政愆은 必失人하고 貨愆은 當留人이니 (정건은 필실인하고 화건은 당류인이니)

  Faults in politics and governance inevitably cause one to lose people,

  whereas errors in managing wealth naturallly cause people to stay.

反慰之後에 愆輕於前愆이면 喜之하고 無愆이면 任之니라.(반위지후에 건경어전건이면 희지하고 무건이면 임지니라.) 
  If, after turning around and offering comfort, their fault becomes lighter than before,

  rejoice in it ; and if there are no faults remaining, entrust them with responsibilities.
