This is because understanding and interpreting these terms have nothing to do with the final destination of martial arts training or the ultimate goal or purpose of practice.

It is worth examining how Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu Haedong Kumdo has boldly presented "Searching for the Forgotten Half in Martial Arts" in English, claiming it to be a first in the 21st century.

Once understood, the truth is straightforward and clear because everything connects through a single principle.

In martial arts, technique, philosophy, and healing are intricately interconnected by this single principle.

If you haven't realized this yet, it’s because it wasn't taught or learned that way.

Regardless of whether you've trained for 20 or 30 years or have extensive knowledge, social recognition, or even if you're an esteemed religious leader or philosopher, recognizing this single principle is entirely separate.

Recognizing the single principle does not mean achieving perfection as a human being.

■ 활인검의 본질: 무술 수련을 넘어 삶의 철학으로

활인검이나 기 언급된 심검, 검선일여, 양생검, 검심일체 등의 용어에 대한 설명은 인터넷에서 누구라도 아주 쉽게 찾아서 이해해 볼 수 있다.

본인이 이 글을 통해서 강조하면서 전달하고자 하는 것은, 활인검이나 심검 등 용어의 해석이 아니다.

그것들의 수준과 경지,
즉 그것들의 상황을 말하고자 함이며,

더욱 더 중요한 것은
어떻게 수련을 해야 활인검이나 심검을 몸과 마음으로 인식하게 되며,

그것들의 바탕이 되는 근원은 어디서 나오는 것이며, 그것들은 어떻게 쓰여지는 가를 설명하고자 하는 것이다.

여태까지 각자 나름대로 배워온 자기 상식과 자기 주관을 바탕으로 만들어진 자기 우물 속에서, 그러한 용어의 해석과 이해만으로 모든 것을 다 아는 양, 수박 겉핦기가 되지 않았으면 좋겠다.

왜냐면, 그러한 용어들의 이해와 해석은 사는 동안 무술 수련의 종착역, 즉 수련의 궁극적 목표나 목적과는 아무 상관이 없기때문이다.

기무수련을 포함한 진영쌍검류 해동검도가 "Searching for the Forgotten Half in Martial Arts (잃어버린 무술의 반쪽을 찾아서)"라는 영문판을 출간하면서, 어떻게 감히 21세기 처음으로 나타내는 것이라고 하는지 자세히 살펴볼 필요가 있다.

진리는 알고 나면 너무 간단하고 명료하다.
하나의 이치로 다 통하기때문이다.

즉 무술에서는
술기와 철학, 힐링은 하나의 이치로 밀접하게 상호 연결 되어 있다.

지금까지도 모른다면,

말하는 것이 아니다.

순간순간, 즉시즉시 그때그때,
잘잘못을 알아차리면서 올바른 길로 헤쳐나갈 수 있는 실체를 인식한다는 것이다.

즉
그것을 알아차리게 됨으로써,

세상은 하나의 이치 아래 있다는 것을
알게 되고,

그게 나의 평생 반려자가 되고
지혜의 샘이 되며,
등대불이 되어,

나를 끊임없이 올바른 길로
인도하게 된다는 말이다.

그게 진리요, 길이며, 생명이며,
알파요, 오메가라는 말이다.

결국 그것은
사는 동안
사랑을 만들어 가면서,

보다 더 여유롭고 풍요로운 삶을 살며,
좀 덜 힘들고,
좀 덜 어렵고,
좀 덜 아프게
세상을 살다 갈 수 있다는 말이다.

끝으로 활인검,심검, 양생검과 같은 말들은 하나의 이치를 몸과 마음으로 알아차리게 될 때, 비로소 각각의 의미를 나름대로 표현하고, 실용적 쓰임을 찾게 된다.
