<P>Strike halts output at Rio Tinto's Namibia uranium mine</P>

<P>A strike at Rio Tinto's Rossing uranium mine in Namibia has halted production since Tuesday, a company official said.</P>
<P>"The production has indeed stopped since yesterday, but we have not yet made an assessment of the losses," said Rossing Corporate Affairs Manager <STRONG>Jerome Mutumba</STRONG>. Union officials could not immediately be reached for comment.</P>
<P>Rossing is the world's third largest producer of uranium oxide globally. The mine is 68.6%-owned by Rio.</P><BR><BR>
