Instead of merely beating the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers pushed it a bit further Sunday, stunning them in regulation and again in overtime for a 99-98 victory and a 3-1 lead in their first-round series in front of a delirious, disbelieving Staples Center crowd.

단순히 불사조 태양팀을 꺾은게 아니었지... 4쿼터와 연장에 그들을 ㄷㄷㄷ하게 만드는 방식으로... 99-98의 승리를 거뒀지.. 스테이플 센터는 완전 광란의 도가니였지..

Bryant had 24 points, four of which will be immediately tacked onto Laker lore — a high-arcing layup with 0.7 of a second left in the fourth quarter and a 17-footer over two defenders that beat the overtime buzzer.

Parker, cast adrift by the Suns last season, set up Bryant's first shot by stripping Steve Nash of the ball in the waning seconds of regulation, a feat topped only when Walton tied up Nash near the end of overtime, helping create Bryant's other shot.

작년에 태양인에게 살짝 '이용'당했던 스무쉬.. 4쿼터 코비 샷의 디딤돌이 되었던 스틸.. 그리고 연장 막판 점프볼로 이어지게 했던 내쉬 다구리.. 거기에 그가 있었어...

"I have played a lot of playoff basketball, and I have never had a game quite like this," Bryant said. "With our backs against the wall, seemingly out of it, and us just battling back and getting this 'W.' I told them we matured about 10 to 15 years today."

코비왈.. 내 플옵 경험 조낸 많지만.. 이런 경기는 첨 겪어봐.. 막판 패색이 짙고.. 거의 겜은 끝났다고 봤었지.. 하지만 포기하지 않고 싸워내서 'W'를 박았지.. 난 울 애덜에게 이렇게 말했어.. 야 오늘 우리 10에서 15년은 성숙한거 같아...ㅋㅋ

"It was the most fun shot I've ever hit, just because it's us, enjoying this as a unit," Bryant said regarding the latest in a long line of buzzer-beaters during his 10-year career.

10년의 리그 경력중 버저비터를 조낸 성공시켰던 코비왈, 내가 쏜 샷 중 가장 'fun'한 샷이었어.. 왜냐면.. 우리가 '팀'으로서 즐기며 이뤄낸 것이기 때문이지..

"It was a hard-fought game," Bryant said. "I am sure they will be playing that shot over and over but people must understand is that shot would not have even been possible if it was not for Smush Parker's great play defensively."

코비왈, 아주 격렬한 경기였어.. 내가 날린 그 샷.. 아주 테이프 늘어지도록 틀어지고 틀어지겠지.. 하지만 사람들이 알아줬으면 좋겠어.. 스무쉬의 그레이트한 플레이가 없었다면 절대! 절대로 존재할 수 없었던 샷이라는 걸...

The locker room was awash in emotion after the game.

경기후에 라커룸... 상상이 가지? 완전 난리도 아니었어...

Lamar Odom, eyes reddening, didn't know whether he should be laughing or crying. Parker wasn't as ambivalent — he was crying.

옥돔이.. 눈이 붉게 충혈된채.. 울어야할지 웃어야할지 모르는 난감한 시츄에이션을 하고 있었고.. 스무쉬는 옥돔이처럼 애매모호하지 않았어..그는 울어버리고 만거야.. (코비가 귀에 혀를 집어넣어서?? ㅡ.ㅡ)

Bryant addressed the team as he scanned the room, pointing out what each player did individually to turn what looked like certain defeat into confounding victory. He offered particular support to Parker, noting he was having an off game before securing his own spot in team history.

코비는 라커룸에서 선수들 각자의 모습을 보고 거의 패배가 확실시 되었다가 승리를 거둔 모습이 어떠했는지 설명해주었지.. 특히 스무쉬에게 지대한 써포트를 해줬지.. 사실 막판 한두개의 플레이를 제외하고 스무쉬는 완전 대삽을 들고 있었거든..

Parker had two points on one-for-10 shooting before making a three-pointer with 7.9 seconds left in regulation to cut the Sun lead to 90-88.

4쿼터 7.9초를 남기고 88-90으로 점수차를 좁히는 에라 모르겠다 3점을 성공시키기 전까지 10개중 1개만을 넣는 슛감을 가지고 있었거든...

Then came The Steal.

그 다음 '스틸'이 있었고...

Boris Diaw inbounded the ball near the top of the Sun three-point line after a timeout, but Nash slipped, Parker poked the ball loose at the sideline near midcourt and then tapped it to Devean George, who moved upcourt and fed Bryant on the wing. Bryant maneuvered around Raja Bell and floated a layup over Diaw to tie it, 90-90.

디아우가 내시에게 인바운드 패스를 해줬지.. 하지만 스무쉬가 공을 살짝 찔러서 루즈볼이 되게 만들었지.. 그걸 게오르게에게 툭 쳐줬고.. 게오르게는 한두번 공을 치고 가다가 사이드로 달려가던 코비에게 패스했고... 코비는 종소리와 디아우를 발라버리는 플로터 레이업을 성공시켰지... 90-90.

"We all knew the ball was going to get to Nash because he's, what, a 90% free-throw shooter for the season," Parker said. "Coach said we want to foul but make a play for the ball. That's exactly what I did."

스무쉬왈, 90% 프리드로우 슈터인 내시한테 공이 갈꺼라는거.. 우린 알구 있었어.... 필사마 말씀하시길.. 파울을 하긴 하는데.. 공을 어떻게든 뺐아보려고 하라구 하셨어.. 그게 내가 시도한 바로 그거지...

"All that was going through my mind the whole game was to stay in it," Parker said. "It was all about the defense and how I guard Steve Nash. That was what kept me level headed. This was one of the biggest games of my life. No game playing in New York City when I was growing up could compare with this game today."

스무쉬왈, 내 맘속엔.. 게임의 전체적인 모습이 항상 머물러 있었지... 수비가 관건인거지.. 내가 엠뷔피를 어떻게 막느냐가 중요했어.. 그 목표하나로 날 이끌어온거지.. 아마 내 인생중 가장 'biggest'한 게임일꺼야.. 내가 뉴욕에서 자랄때 했던 플레이하고는 비교할 수 없지...

With the Suns ahead in the final seconds of overtime, 98-97, Nash again ran into trouble in almost the exact same spot, trapped along the sideline by Odom and Walton just inside midcourt. Nash, who later called the play "pretty physical" and said he thought he "got bumped a little," also said he heard teammate Diaw call a timeout. But referees ruled that Walton had tied Nash up and called a jump ball with 6.1 seconds left.

연장전에서는 또 어땠게? 98-97로 한점차 태양인이 앞선상황에서 스무쉬한테 공뺐긴 그 지점 근처로 달려가더니 옥돔, 루크스카이워커에게 다구리 당하더라구.. '넘 피지컬한' 시츄에이션이었다고 하면서 '살짝 다구리도 당했어'라구 말했고.. '디아우가 탐아웃 부르던거 같던데?'라는 얘기도 했지만.. 심판은 루크와 내쉬가 공을 같이 잡고 있다고 판단하며 점프볼을 선언하였지...

Walton won the tip after initially whiffing on it and knocked the ball to his left, toward the scorer's table, where Bryant snapped it up, dribbled across the court, and elevated over Diaw and Bell from above the right side of the free-throw line.

점프볼.. 루크는 그의 왼쪽으로 공을 쳐보냈고... 코비가 공을 잡았지.. 코비는 공을 치고 가다가.. 디아우와 종소리 앞에서 사기더 웨이를 날렸고.. 철썩! 림을 갈랐지...

He raised his left fist. A moment later, he was mobbed.

왼쪽 주먹을 불끈쥔 코비.. 바로 그 직후.. 동료들에게 집단 다구리를 당했지..

"I knew Luke was going to control the tip," said Bryant, who took only 14 shots Sunday, eight fewer than Nash, and made nine. "I was just going through my calculations, looking at the clock, and just played the moment over in my head before I got the ball, thinking about how much time I would have to operate. Once I got the ball, I just took my time and got the look I wanted."

코비왈, 루크스카이워커가 내쉬와의 광선검 점프볼 배틀을 이길거라는 것을 알았지.. 그리곤 계산을 했던거야.. 남을 시간을 보고.. 공을 잡기전에 이미 내 머리속에서 '플레이를 한번' 했었지... 내가 얼마나 공을 치고 가야할지 말야... 그리곤 실제 공을 잡았고... 시간을 소비하다가 내가 원하는 '삘'을 찾은거지...

"I have been in a lot of game situations where in that type of scenario I have failed," Bryant said. "Trying to get to the basket and do too much. So I called back on some of my experience so that when I got the ball I tried not to rush it. I tried to turn and see what was going on and I took it from there."

코비왈, 사실 이런 클러치 상황에서 내가 성공하지 못했던 경우도 많았지... 너무 욕심이 과했기 때문이었어.. 그런 (실패의) 경험을 바탕으로.. 난 공을 잡으면 너무 들이대지 않을려구 했지... 무아지경에서 공격하는 것이 아니라 상황이, 주변이 어떻게 돌아가고 있나 살펴보려고 했어.. 그런 것을 다 본 후에 성공시킨거야.. (이 넘.. 정말 ㄷㄷㄷ이다..)

Bryant has hit the same shot from the same spot so often in practice and during individual summer workouts when nobody is watching that, he said, "It felt routine to me."

개인 여름 훈련때.. 아무도 본 사람은 없지만... 연습하면서 바로 그 스팟에서 똑같은 샷 넣기를 주구장창 연습했었데... 코비왈, '나에겐 그저 평범한 일일 뿐야'

"There were some costly plays down the stretch that didn't go our way. We did everything we could to win the game. It wasn't meant to be." Nash said. "We had a lot of misfortunes tonight."

엠뷔피왈, 막판 비수를 꽂는 플레이 몇개가 있었지... 우리 뜻대로 되지가 않더군.. 우리가 이 겜을 이기기 위해 할 수 있는 모든 것을 했다구 생각해...그저 그렇게 될 수 없었던 무언가가 있었나봐... 운이 너무 없었어...

Afterward, when the tension was finally allowed to escape, owner Jerry Buss and his son Jim, a team vice president, gave out hugs and handshakes outside the locker room.

드뎌 극도의 긴장감을 벗어나면서.. 구단주 버스 아저씨와 그의 아들 부사장 짐은.. 서로 껴안으면서 라커룸 밖에서 악수를 나눴지...

Down the hall, Sun Coach Mike D'Antoni seemed to forget his team had lost.

복도에서는 태양인 코치 디안토니가 마치 그의 팀이 졌다는 것을 잊어먹은 듯 했어...그만큼 충격이 컸던가??

"Everything we talked about we did," he said. "That's why we won. Or, jeez, that's why we came close. I guess I'm in denial."

디안토니왈,  우리가 얘기했던데로 우린 플레이했어.. 그래서 우리가 승리했던거지. 앗, 엄마야.. 그게 우리가 거의 이길뻔했던거야.. 도저히 이 승부를 인정 못하겠어...

It was hard for the Lakers to believe too.

하긴 호수인들도 이 승리를 믿기 어려워하는데 뭘...

"I have been involved in a lot of wild ones, and that one was right up there," Coach Phil Jackson said.

필사마왈, 내가 이런 종류의 겜을 한두번 겪어본건 아니지만..이거.. 정말 진국이다...

불사조 애덜의 아픈 마음도 한번 알아볼까나?

스무쉬의 스틸을 암시하는 듯한 팀토의 얘기, 우리에겐 내시가 있자나.. 작년 리그 엠뷔피 말야.. 그런데 파울을 불지 않냐구...

"Boris and Steve called timeout, but we did not get the call," Thomas said of the play leading to the jump ball. "It was the most difficult loss, by far, of my career."

그리고 연장 점프볼에 대해서도 팀토 한마디... 디아우와 엠뷔피가 탐아웃을 불렀는데.. 씹히고 말았어... 내 생애.. 이렇게 어려운 패배는 첨인거 같아...

"We made big shots, but they made bigger shots," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said.

태양인 코치 디안토니왈, 우린 'big'샷을 터트렸는데.. 쟤덜은 'bigger'샷을 터트렸어...

"This one really hurt," Bell said. "I've never been involved in a game that ended like that. It was a tough one. That's what the playoffs are all about I guess."

종소리왈, 아.. 이 패배는 정말 뼈아프다.. 이런식의 결말이 있는 겜... 난생 첨이야.. 정말 좌절스럽다구... 이런게 플옵이군...

"I think we had a chance to win this game," Marion said. "It was disappointing. I thought it was over. But it's not over till the buzzer sounds and when it sounded, we didn't win."

매련낭자왈, 우리가 이 겜을 이길 수 있는 기회를 가졌었다구 생각해.. 정말 실망스럽지.. 난 (우리의 승리로) 끝나는 겜이라구 생각했었다구.. 하지만 버저가 울리기 전까지 끝난게 아니었어...
