Commentary on John 8 (6)
I asked this question because a member of a group that gathers people in the playground to show off their power told me that people gather like this.
What does that have to do with salvation?
Nowadays, there are many people who give interesting and moving sermons about biblical characters, events, and topics.
However, sermons on how to receive salvation are rare.
A church can completely destroy a person's soul by registering them as church members in the name of evangelism, but the Bible points out that such a sin is extremely serious.
It's the same as in the past when communists pushed civilians into pits and shot them to death.
So I am speaking from the bottom of my heart.
If the church doesn't have the ability to save people's souls, please don't evangelize.
So who does evangelism and how?
If God wants, he will make the stones shout and preach the gospel to them.
Rather, it is their blessing that evangelism and revival cannot occur unless they are a church with the gospel.
As Paul said to Timothy, when it is his time to teach himself first (1 Timothy) and then God entrust him with the gospel by calling him faithful (2 Timothy), people will come.
If you change the signs on the road, your car can return, but if you block the way to God and do not allow yourself to go and prevent others from going, then this is a big problem.
Don’t commit such a sin.
It means not to commit a sin that kills a person’s soul.
So, Matthew 18 says, “It is impossible not to stumble, but woe to anyone who causes someone to stumble” (verse 7).
That is the most terrifying sin before God.
When you see people who have been going to church for a long time but things aren't going well, it's almost always because God's chosen people have been blocking their path to God.
When you look at the homes of people who interfere with that path, you see that there is always no peace and problems constantly arise for their children.
But in reality, they mistakenly think that they are always doing a lot of God’s work.
He is deceived into thinking he is doing something great, and this deception is scary.
Even if you give everything in the world to God, one soul is bigger.
One soul is worth much more than the sum of all things in the visible world.
However, if we kill a soul because of a mistake caused by greed, we will not be able to repay God even if we give everything in the world to God.
What is so scary is the sin that causes the soul to fall.
We must not overlook the fact that such mistakes are made both by me and you.
Why did God hate Amalek so much in 1 Samuel 15?
Why did he hate them so much that he told them to dry up their seeds?
This is because it obstructed the Israelites' path toward the land of Canaan, which leads to God.
So he ordered Saul to kill them.
He ordered them to be exterminated without leaving any seeds behind.
Obstruction with God's career path is just as scary.
It is sad and pitiful to see a pastor who is unable to show the way to God and who is currently fighting cancer and finding satisfaction in speaking to hundreds of thousands of members every morning.
I was frustrated and left a comment asking why you didn't know that God had given you time to save yourself.
When the Israelites marched to the land of Canaan, God spared almost all the peoples who showed favor to them.
According to the Bible, God did not kill any of the people who cooperated with the Israelites.
However, the nations that hinder and harm the Israelites do not hesitate to kill them even when they enter Canaan.
God hunt them down and kill it until the end, and end up drying out the seed.
Humans have lost God and are destined to go to the lake of fire with death in their arms. Is there a greater and greater good than being born again through the atonement grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, becoming one with Christ, the tree of life, and seeking God the Father?
The reason why Satan is an enemy before God is because he deceives God's people and causes them to stray from the path of life.
The devil encourages us to build a good church, attract a lot of people, do a lot of things that are exemplary, and do a lot of things that are praised and applauded by society.
However, if you ask, seek, and knock on Christ, the tree of life, Satan will have a fit from then on.
The devil accuses people, estranges them from God, condemns them, and then drags them to a place without God and a place that has nothing to do with the truth, a place without life, and slaughters them.
So, when I talk to pastors, I always ask three questions.
What is your relationship with God?
Can you then explain how to approach God?
And finally, what can we gain by going to God?
If there are people who are preaching without the mystery of Christ, learn the Gospel of John through Romans, and then try Hebrews.
If that doesn't work, come to me in the middle of the night like Nicodemus looking for Jesus.
Next, let’s look at John 8:45.
“ And because I tell you the truth, you believe me not.”
In other words, ‘because I speaks the truth’ means ‘because it is spiritual.’
He speaks an invisible word, which means that you do not believe in me.
Even now, I see people talking loudly about the literal words written in the Bible as the word of God and the truth(?), but they do not know and do not believe in the fact that the word of Ho Logos, which says, “In the beginning was the word,” comes to us as a living spirit and life.
According to the flesh, they easily believe that Jesus is the Christ, but like Paul, they are embarrassed when we say that Christ is the spirit and not the flesh (2 Corinthians 5:16).
In the church, we only believe in Jesus who appeared in the flesh, but in some pseudo-organization, a person is now acting as a fraud, claiming to be the promised shepherd with the spirit of Jesus, right?
Needless to say, if that person dies in his current state, he will fall into the second death, the lake of fire.
“He that is of God hears God's words; you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God” (John 8:47)
This is a very scary word.
He looks at the Jews and says they do not belong to God.
It sounds like a thunderbolt.
This is equivalent to saying that the Israelites are currently on the waiting list for the promise and have not yet received salvation.
They have not yet received God's calling into Christ.
The Lord first said that you did not belong to Abraham, and that Abraham was not your father, but the devil was your father.
Next, he says directly that they do not belong to God.
So do you belong to God?
Do you happen to belong to a denomination?
Do you belong to some big church?
I hope that we all, like David, have the assurance of faith that we are all olive trees planted in the house of the Lord.
Just as a tree planted by streams of water bears fruit in its season (Psalm 1:3), I hope that we become branches of the tree of life.
Next, let’s look at John 8:50.
“I am not seeking glory for myself, but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.”
That's right. The characteristic of a person born of God is that he or she does not seek self-glorification.
The reason is because, like the Lord, we have the glory of God in Christ.
Then, “Verily, Verily, I say to you, if a man keep my saying, he shall never see death” (John 8:51).
The Lord says, If a man keep my saying.
But what is the words, so why would he say, “If a man keep my saying?”
Because it is truth (true reality) and life.
It is John 8:55. He says, “You have not known him, but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like to you: but I know him, and I keep his saying.”
We should also say this.
I know the true God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
That is eternal life (John 17:3).
However, those who do not know the Lord or God and use any means to force people into the church are liars.
Revelation 22:15 says that anyone who tells lies like this will be outside the city (15).
Those are scary words.
The problem is that when they lie, they don't know that they are a liar.
