Chapter 2. Lower Scripture(下經,하경) 24 Teachings(訓,훈) 156 Matters(事,사)
The 6th Principle : Blessing(福,복)... Blessing... Article 232.
Gate 5 : Gwan(寬,관)... Generosity(Tolerance) ... Artiale 267.
Door 36 : Jeongseon(正旋,정선 - Right order in Chaos)...
The principle of proper harmony amid chaos... Item 273.
"Jeong(正,정)" signifies right principle,
while "Seon(旋,선)" represents a vortex, forming a world of order.
The bottom stone remains still while the top stone rotates smoothly
without swaying or deviating ; this is because the heavy iron weight pressing down
is positioned at the center.
when benevolence is placed at the center withgenerosity,
everythingrotatessmoothly and perfectly conforms to the standard.
[Original Text,
"Jeong(正,정)" is the right pprinciple, and "Seon(旋,선)" is the principle of rotation.
The upper stone remains still and steady, while the lower stone rotates in a circle ;
The reason it neither moves out of place nor strays is that the stabilizing
iron pin is positioned at the center.
If benevolence resides at the center with generosity,
evetything rotates smoothly and perfectly aligns with standard rules.
[Explanation,
Article 273 explains the principle of I-Gi(Principle and Vital Energy) governiing all creation,
using the example of a millstone.
A millstone consists of an upper stone and a lower stone,
with an iron pin at the center secured by the weight of the upper stone.
hen the upper stone turns, frictional resistance occurs against the lower stone,
generating a typical world of order.
In other words, a vacuumm zone of force is created at the center between the upper stone
trying to keep rotating to resist it.
This force-void zone―being non-existence(Mu) yet existence(Yu) ―seerves as the center
of both stones and represents I(Principle), whereas the movement of the rotating upper
and lower stones represents Gi(Vital Energy).
rticle 273 is a crucial section that applies the spiral patterns found archaeologically
almost everywhere on Earth to human principles.
It is a deeply meaningful part that connects the spiral formations seen in cosmic
nebulae and typhoons to the laws of human life.
This very concept forms the core principle of Cheonbugyeong and Similsingo,
making this section the most accessible and striking point of convergence with those texts.
The I-Gi theory explained here sets the basic framework of Confucianism,
Buddhism, and Taoism(Yu-Bul-Seon).
It holds profound significance as it clearly supports Scholar Choe Chi-won′s assertion
that Hyeonmyojido(the Sublime Way) encompasses all three traditions.
The central iron pin of the millstone exerts zero net force,
yet it acts as the pivot moving the entire stone.
This is akin to the eye of a storm.
BuddhismcallsthisSunyata(Emptiness) or Li(Principle).
Taoism calls it Wu(Nothingness / Non-being),
and Confucianism refers to it as Li (principle)
The physical motion of the millstone itself is called Rupa(Form)
or Sa(phenomena)in Buddhism,
You (Being / Existence) in Taoism, and Qi(Vital Energy) in Confucianism.
The conclusion of our I-Gi theory is Jaese-lhwa(governing the world by reason / principle)
and Hongik-lngan(broadly benefiting humanity).
Jaese-lhwa and Hongik-lngan represent the ultimate pinnacle that the core teachings
of Confucianism, Buddhiem, and Taoism seek to attain.
