<영원한 세계를 준비하기 위한 기간- to prepare for the eternal life>

우리들은 이 세상에 살고 있지만, 이 세상만이 있는 것이 아니고 영계가 있는 것을 알고 있습니다. 

세상과 영계는 두 세계가 아니고 하나의 세계로서 연결되어야 한다는 것도 알고 있습니다. 

그러면 우리가 가야 할 곳, 우리가 가서 살아야 할 그 곳이 어디냐?

물론 우리는 육신 생활을 하면서 이 땅에 있지만 영원한 세계를 향해서 가고 있는 거예요.

일반 사람들은 세상에 태어나게 되면 일생 동안 10대를 지나, 20대를 지나, 30대를 지나 중년을 지나고 장년, 노년시대를 거쳐간다 이겁니다.

청춘시대를 지나 가지고 장년시대로 들어가게 되면 점점점 한 고개를 넘어서 그 다음엔 노년시대로 들어가게 되는 것입니다.

이렇게 지는 해와 같이 일생을 끝마칩니다.

그러나 영계가 있다는 사실을 아는 사람들은 일생이라는 것이 잠깐이고, 죽은 다음에 우리가 맞이해야 할 세계가 영원하다는 것을 알고 있습니다.

때문에 일생 기간이라는 것은 영원한 세계를 준비하기 위한 기간이다 이거예요. 세상이 그런 것 같지 않아요?

학생을 예를 들어 말하면, 학생이 한 학기, 혹은 한 학년에 있어서 그 학교가 제정한 모든 학과의 학점을 따야만 하는 학점의 기준이 있는 것입니다.

그 기준을 백 점으로 하여 가지고 볼 때, 그 기준에 얼마만큼 도달하였느냐 하는 비준에 의해서 학교에서 인정받는 학생이 되는 것입니다.

그러나 학점에 미달하는 퍼센티지 (percentage)가 많으면 많을수록 학교가 세운 그 가치 기준에서 멀어지는 것이다, 이와 같이 되는 거라구요.

그렇기 때문에 어떤 표준을 중심 삼고 모든 것을 측정하기 마련이다 이거예요.

우리가 일생 동안 육신세계에서 사는 것은 마치 학교에서 한 학점을 준비하는 기간과 같다 이거예요.

우리 일생을 건 학점을 준비하는, 어떠한 일생이라는 과정에 있어서 아니할래야 아니해서는 안 될 책임부서에 해당하는 실적을 추구하고 있다 이겁니다.

다시 말하면 책임을 추구하는 어떤 기준 앞에 얼마만큼 일치되느냐 하는 그 기준치를 중심 삼고 여러분이 매일 생애노정을 가고 있는 것이다 이거예요. (140-121)

Even though we live in this world, we know there is the spiritual world besides the physical world.

We know this world and the spiritual world are not two different worlds but should be connected as one.

Then what kind of place are we supposed to go and live? 

Even though we live in this world with a physical body, we are aiming toward the eternal world.
After their birth, people in this world simply pass through their teens, twenties, thirties, middle age, prime age, and old age. 

After they pass youth and reach their prime, they enter old age gradually. 

They finish their life like the sunset.

However, those who know that there is a spiritual world are aware that our life here is short but the world after death is eternal. 

Therefore, our life is a time to prepare for the eternal life. Isn't this world like that?

For example, there is a certain standard in school of how many credits a student has to gain in one semester and in one year. 

If the standard is 100 percent, you can be recognized in school according to how much you accomplished toward the goal. 

The less you accomplish, the further you will be from the standard of the school. 

We can use this standard to calculate everything.

We live in the physical world like students preparing to gain credit in school.

We prepare to gain credit throughout our life, aiming for the result that we are destined to accomplish in our life process.

In other words, you live daily life based on the standard of how much you accomplish of your responsibility. (140-121)
