Commentary on John 10 (2)
Sheep hear the shepherd's voice and follow him.
That’s why it’s important to know how to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you hear and follow the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ, he will give you eternal life.
He gives you eternal life and says no one can snatch you out of his hand.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give to them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:27-28)
He says that no one can pluck them not only from the hand of the Lord but also from the hand of the Father, who is greater than all.(John 10:29)
The fact that no one can take you away means that God protects it so that the evil one cannot touch you.
"Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods? If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:34-35)
These are very important words.
“I called you gods (theoi: plural), that is, gods.”
Receiving the word of God means kinomai (appearing), but it does not mean that I have the word, but people who have become the word of God, the Word was made flesh. (John 1:14)
In other words, the word has become their own fine linen and the word become his thoughts and way of thinking, and those who know and follow his words and receive the teachings of his words have become Deoi.
These are truly great words.
Who was this originally?
No one can become a child of God without the Word.
We became children of God by receiving Christ through the Word.
God is the substance, and Christ, the Word, is the image of the substance.
Christ is the glory of the substance.
We arrive at the substance through the Word.
Then, if the Word itself was the image of the substance and the glory of the substance, then if we become the Word through the Word, we will come to the image of the substance and the glory of the substance.
It has been said that people embodled by the Word are gods, and this means that these words will come true.
A person embodied by the Word is a person who embodied by God.
Do you understand this?
So, the moment I become a pickle of the word, the environment is controlled by me through the word, and as long as I speak the word, it will come true because it is not my word but the word of God.
So, if I bless, it will be a blessing, but if I leave it as is, nothing will happen.
“If I do, though you believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.” (John 10:38)
Just as the Father and the Son are one, theoi (plural of Theos) means being one with the Father in Christ (see Romans 5:1-2).
This kind of person is a person who has been saved.
People like this receive eternal life, provided with pasture by the Lord, the Shepherd, and receive absolute protection.
However, it is a blessing that those who judge according to their flesh can never know.
God does not want us to be servants only to perform tasks.
The blessing that God has given us is not just having us run errands as servants and giving us corresponding rewards according to the content of the errands.
We must not forget that God does not just use us as servants forever, but also has a zeal to make us like him as his sons.
At the same time, we must not forget that the Lord has given us the mission to testify the gospel to the ends of the earth.
Many people have a strong sense of duty as the Lord's servants and errand men, but they do not know how far God has called us.
They are very zealous in preaching this gospel to the whole world, but the zeal to pursue the Lord's throne, such as praise such as "I will be overflowing with joy when I see the shining and high throne and the glory of the Lord's face sitting on it," seems to be lacking.
That's why I'm always full of impatience and tension thinking that I have to do whatever the Lord entrusts to me, but I need to embody God's Word and make it my way of thinking so that I can participate in God's character (2 Peter 1:4). The current reality of Christianity is that this kind of zeal seems to be lacking.
Horizontal zeal is special, but vertical zeal seems to be very lacking.
Vertical and horizontal zeal must be balanced and harmonized.
Only if we have the blessing of always making the Word our own and fulfilling God's absolute wish while also fulfilling God's relative wish in carrying out work, will his way, his truth, his life, his glory, and all the attributes he has allowed be within us.
Therefore, we must make those promises ours and personalize them.
Then God will be pleased.
If the Word is embodled in us through the Holy Spirit and experienced, it will certainly become reality to others through the truth, and you will be eager to save people and match them with God, and will be eager to save those in darkness into the light.
This is what it takes to become a true minister that God wants.
It is a truly glorious mission.
I always feel sorry in my heart as I preach the Word.
I wonder how much of a burden it will be on those who are intoxicated with grace if we give away such hard food.
I wonder if this may be bothering those who practice faith without any awareness of the problem.
However, Biblical salvation is not that easy, so even if many people are harassed by me, let there be a man of the word in every city or town and walk the blessed path where one person can handle a thousand and two can handle ten thousand.
