인류의 소망
 
1 역사시대에 참된 부모가 없었습니다. 지상에 타락한 부모만 있었기 때문에 천상에도 참부모가 없었습니다. 하나님을 인류의 부모라고 하는데, 하나님은 어떤 입장에 있느냐? 하나님 자신이 참된 부모가 되려면 참된 자식을 가져야 하는데, 그러지 못한 입장에서는 참된 부모가 될 수 없습니다. 그렇기 때문에 하나님 자체의 입장을 보더라도 인류를 창조하기는 했지만 창조한 입장에서 부모, 참된 하나님으로서의 자리를 갖지 못했다는 것입니다. 즉 타락했기 때문에 하나님이 참된 하나님이 되지 못했습니다. 다시 말하면 인류의 완성과 더불어 인류의 참된 부모를 중심한 인류의 참된 가정이 이루어졌을 것이고, 인류의 참된 가정과 더불어 참된 종족, 참된 민족, 참된 국가, 참된 세계가 이루어졌을 것입니다. 이렇게 됐더라면 참된 하나님의 심정을 이어받은 참된 하나님의 혈족이 되었을 것이고, 참된 하나님의 혈족으로 말미암아 참된 하나님의 민족이 형성되었을 것입니다. 그 민족을 중심삼고 하나님이 직접 지배하는 하나의 나라가 형성되었을 것입니다.

참부모는 역사적 소망

2 우리는 타락한 인간이기 때문에 참부모를 잃어버린 족속입니다. 참부모를 잃어버렸으니 참자녀가 되지 못한 무리입니다. 창조 당시 최대의 선의 이념으로 세우려 한 참부모와 참자녀가 다 깨져 나갔으나, 하나님은 역사적인 수고의 노정, 수많은 역경과 수많은 고통의 노정을 거쳐서라도 다시 참다운 부모의 인연을 세워 주겠다는 것입니다. 동시에 참다운 자녀의 인연을 세우고, 참다운 부부, 참다운 형제, 참다운 국가, 참다운 세계, 참다운 인류, 참다운 천주의 인연을 세워 주겠다는 것입니다. 하나님은 처음부터 타락한 인간의 마음 가운데 들어와 역사하는 것이 아니라 저 먼 곳, 상대적 입장에서 타락한 인간에게 만물을 연결시키고 참다운 아들과 연결시킨 후 나중에 인간의 마음속에 들어와 심정의 아버지가 되겠다고 하는 것입니다. 이것이 구원섭리의 최후 종착점입니다.

3 타락한 세계의 역사를 볼 때, 이 세계에는 타락한 부모가 태어났습니다. 타락한 부모가 태어나서 타락한 세계를 이루었다는 것입니다. 이 세계는 타락한 부모와 인연된 세계이지, 참부모나 하나님이 이상 했던 본연의 세계와는 상관이 없는 세계입니다. 그렇기 때문에 오랜 인류역사를 거쳐 오면서 이 세상에 많은 사람들이 살다 갔지만, 그들 가운데 행복을 노래하면서 ‘나는 인간으로 태어나 행복했고, 인간으로서 모든 면에서 성공한 한 사람이었다.’라고 우주 앞에 자랑하고 살다 간 사람은 하나도 없다는 것입니다.

4 인간의 역사적인 소원이 참부모를 모시는 것입니다. 참부모를 맞는 것입니다. 하나님이 이스라엘 나라와 유대교를 세우신 것은 메시아를 맞기 위한 것입니다. 메시아가 참부모입니다. 또한 기독교와 기독교 문화권을 만든 것은 재림주를 맞기 위한 것입니다. 재림주는 제3차 아담으로 오시는 참부모입니다.

5 우리가 품어야 할 소망이 무엇이냐? 하늘을 대신하여 이 땅에 오시는 참부모님을 진정으로 모시는 것을 소망해야 됩니다. 모시는 데는 승리의 터전이 이루어진 후에, 만민이 우러러보고 만민이 공경하게 된 자리에서 모시기를 바라서는 안 된다는 것입니다. 슬픈 역사를 거치는 참부모를 모시기를 바라야 합니다. 슬픈 역사를 거치는 참부모를 모시지 못한 것을 선조들은 한으로 여기고 있습니다. 참부모를 진정으로 모시는 것을 모든 인류가 소망하는 것입니다. 그러므로 영광의 자리에서 모시려고 하기보다 비참한 자리에서 모시는 참효자 참효녀가 되어야 합니다.

6 참부모가 오실 때가 되면 세계의 모든 국가가 형제의 인연을 갖기 때문에, 제2차 세계대전 후에 전승국가가 패전국가를 해방시키는 일이 벌어졌습니다. 이것은 형님 된 입장에서 동생을 때려잡았으니 동생에게 복을 빌어 주지 않으면 오시는 부모에게 벌을 받기 때문에, 그런 비정상적인 역사적 현상이 벌어져 나온 것입니다. 역사가 바라면서 찾아 나온 것이 참부모를 만나는 것입니다. 종교가 나오는 것도 참부모를 만나기 위해서입니다. 세계가 나오는 것도 참부모를 찾기 위해서, 나라가 나오는 것도 참부모를 찾기 위해서입니다. 참부모의 길을 예비하기 위해 나오는 것입니다.

7 참부모는 전체 소망의 상징입니다. 타락한 인류 앞에 절대적인 소망의 상징입니다. 그는 역사적인 결실체요, 시대적인 중심이요, 세계 국가권의 중심입니다. 참부모는 이상세계로 연결될 수 있는 미래선상에 있어서의 출발점입니다. 그러면 역사시대의 선조들은 무엇을 바라느냐? 통일의 세계가 누구를 찾기를 바라느냐? 참부모 찾기를 바랍니다. 다시 말해서 참부모와 영원히 상봉하려고 하는 것입니다.

8 참부모라는 말은 역사시대에 있어서 그 누구도 불러 보지 못했고, 그 누구도 생각지 못했습니다. 그런데 우리는 부를 수 있고, 알 수 있고, 모실 수 있는 영광된 자리에 섰습니다. 이렇듯 우리는 역사시대의 그 누구보다도 행복한 자리에 서 있고, 그 누구보다도 고귀한 자리에 서 있습니다. 참부모라는 이름과 더불어 역사는 지금까지 수고해 나왔고, 참부모의 승리의 터전을 마련하기 위해서 역사적인 수많은 희생의 대가를 치렀다는 것을 생각하게 될 때, 참부모라는 명사야말로 인류에게는 복된 말씀 중에 복된 말씀이라는 것입니다. 참부모로 말미암아 역사가 치리되고, 참부모로 말미암아 새로운 세계로 돌아갈 수 있는 기원이 생겨나고, 참부모로 말미암아 사탄을 굴복시킬 수 있는 내적인 인연이 결정되고, 참부모로 말미암아 외적인 세계를 점령하고 있는 사탄을 정복하여 비로소 하나님을 해원성사해 드릴 수 있는 중심이 결정되는 것입니다. 그러므로 참부모와 더불어 살고, 참부모의 명령을 받들어 행동할 수 있는 이 놀라운 은사에 감사해야 됩니다.

9 참부모는 인류역사의 최고 희망의 존재입니다. 역사의 최고 승리의 기대입니다. 어떠한 민족도 구하지 않으면 안 되는 역사의 희망의 중심점입니다. 역사가 바라는 곳은 나라도 아니고 세계도 아닙니다. 외적으로는 나라나 세계와 같이 보이지만, 외적 세계만 가지고는 해결하지 못합니다. 하나님의 섭리는 세계를 구하는 것이 목적이지만, 세계를 구하려면 선한 부모가 이 지상에 와서 완전한 기대를 만들어야 합니다. 이것이 생기지 않는다면 완전한 국가, 세계를 구하는 길은 생기지 않습니다. 그래서 역사 전체의 희망은 나라도 아니고 세계도 아닙니다. 참부모입니다. 여기에서는 민족관이라든가 세계관은 허용되지 않습니다. 민족관도 부모의 혈통을 계승한 뒤에 세워져야 합니다. 그것이 된 후에 종족을 편성하지 않으면 안 되고, 민족을 편성하지 않으면 안 되고, 세계를 복귀하지 않으면 안 됩니다. 부모가 없으면 아무것도 없습니다. 참부모를 맞이하지 않으면 아무것도 안 됩니다.

10 역사는 무엇을 찾아 나왔느냐? 시대는 무엇을 찾아 나왔느냐? 미래는 무엇을 찾아야 되느냐? 참부모입니다. 전체가 여기에 귀결되지 않고는 행복의 기준을 역사과정이나 우주 가운데에서 찾아볼 수 없습니다. 사랑의 기원은 본래 하나님과 인간을 중심삼고 종적 횡적 기반이 다 같아야 합니다. 이 기반이 다르게 된 것을 같게 하자는 것이 타락한 인류의 소원입니다. 이런 점에서 기독교에서는 예수님을 중심삼고 신랑 신부의 인연을 맺어 나온 것입니다.

11 우리는 목적을 천년 후의 미래에서 찾는 것이 아닙니다. 우리가 찾는 목적은 미래의 후손들도 과거에서 찾을 것입니다. 그것이 참부모입니다. 이것은 과거의 것이요, 현재의 것이요, 미래의 것입니다. 이것은 영원한 것입니다. 여러분은 이 이념을 중심삼고 다가올 세계를 환영만 해서는 안 됩니다. 참부모를 그리워하면서 모시고 나가야 합니다. 따라서 오늘날 이 시대권 내에 있는 여러분은 현재에 살고 있지만 과거의 열매요 미래의 기원이 되어야 합니다. 이 3시대가 하나되어야 한다는 것입니다. 뒤로는 과거, 앞으로는 미래를 통합시킬 수 있는 현재의 자신이 되어야 합니다. 무엇으로 통합하느냐? 참부모의 사랑으로 통합시켜야 합니다. 누구에게 통합시키느냐? 아들딸에게 통합시켜야 합니다. 그 아들딸은 참부모의 사랑을 중심삼은 아들딸입니다. 다시 말하면 타락하지 않은 아담 해와가 낳은 아들딸과 마찬가지입니다. 여기서부터 천국의 아들딸이 될 수 있습니다. 그러므로 3시대의 사랑의 인연을 갖고 태어난 자리가 참부모의 아들딸이 되는 자리입니다. 비록 인간이 타락했을망정 역사과정을 거꾸로 올라가 그 자리를 되찾아야 합니다.

12 본성의 인연을 중심삼은 본연의 부모가 죽은 줄 알았는데 그 부모가 회생할 수 있다면, 그 길을 내가 개척하기 위해서는 말할 수 없는 정성을 들여야 됩니다. 또한 누구보다도 하늘의 서러움에 가슴이 미어지게 아파하며 억울함과 분함을 느끼는 그 자리에서 충성을 하지 않으면 안 됩니다. 그러한 마음을 가지고 부모가 살아날 수 있는 길을 닦아야 합니다. 그것이 자식의 도리이며 효자의 자리에 서는 것입니다. 이것이 우리의 책임입니다. 그렇기 때문에 생사를 개의치 않고 이 길을 개척해야 됩니다. 세상의 좋은 것과 세상의 핍박과 죽음의 길도 개의치 않고 이 길을 개척하기 위해 충효의 인연을 가져야 됩니다.

人類の希望

1 歴史時代には真の父母がいませんでした。地上に堕落した父母だけがいたので、天上にも真の父母がいませんでした。神様を人類の父母と言うのですが、神様はどのような立場にいるのでしょうか。神様御自身が真の父母になろうとすれば、真の子女をもたなければなりませんが、そうでない立場では、真の父母になれ ません。ですから、神様御自身の立場を見ても、人類を創造することはしましたが、創造した立場で、父母としての位置、真の神様としての位置をもてなかった のです。すなわち、人類の始祖が堕落したので、神様は真の神様になることができませんでした。

言い換えれば、人類の完成とともに、人類の真の父母を中心とする人類の真の家庭が成されたはずであり、人類の真の家庭とともに真の氏族、真の民族、真の国 家、真の世界が形成されたはずです。このようになっていれば、真の神様の心情を受け継いだ真の神様の血族になったはずであり、真の神様の血族によって、真 の神様の民族が形成されたはずです。その民族を中心として、神様が直接治める一つの国が形成されたはずだというのです。


真の父母は歴史的願い

2 私たちは堕落した人間なので、真の父母を失ってしまった群れです。真の父母を失ってしまったので、真の子女になることができなかった群れです。創造当 時、最大の善の理念で立てようとした真の父母と真の子女がすべて壊れていきましたが、神様は、歴史的な苦労の路程、数多くの逆境と数多くの苦痛の路程を経 てでも、再び真の父母を立ててくださろうとするのです。同時に、真の子女を立て、真の夫婦、真の兄弟、真の国家、真の世界、真の人類、真の天宙を立ててく ださろうとするのです。神様は、最初から堕落した人間の心の中に入ってきて役事するのではなく、遠い相対的立場で、堕落した人間に万物を連結させ、真の息 子と連結させたのち、あとから人間の心の中に入ってきて、心情の父になろうとするのです。これが救援摂理の終着点です。

3 堕落した世界の歴史について見てみるとき、この世界には堕落した父母が生まれました。堕落した父母が生まれて、堕落した世界をつくったというのです。こ の世界は、堕落した父母と因縁づけられた世界であって、真の父母と神様が理想とした本然の世界とは、関係のない世界です。ですから、長い人類歴史を経てき ながら、この世に多くの人たちが生まれて死んでいきましたが、彼らの中で、幸福を謳歌しつつ、「私は人間として生まれて幸せであり、人間としてすべての面 で成功した一人だった」と、宇宙の前に誇って生きて死んでいった人は一人もいないのです。

4 人間の歴史的な願いは、真の父母に侍ることです。真の父母を迎えることです。神様がイスラエルの囲とユダヤ教を立てられたのは、メシヤを迎えるためで す。メシヤとは真の父です。また、キリスト教とキリスト教文化圏をつくったのは、再臨主を迎えるためです。再臨主は、第三次アダムとして来られる真の父で す。

5 私たちが抱くべき希望とは何でしょうか。天に代わってこの地に来られる真の父母様に侍ることを心から希望しなければなりません。

侍るには、勝利の基盤が形成されたのち、万民が仰ぎ見、万民が恭敬するようになった立場で侍ることを願ってはいけないのです。悲しい歴史を経ている真の父 母に侍ることを願わなければなりません。悲しい歴史を経ている真の父母に侍ることができなかったことを、先祖たちは恨と思っています。真の父母に侍ること を、全人類は心から希望するのです。ですから、栄光の場で侍ろうとするより、悲惨な場で侍る真の孝子、真の孝女にならなければなりません。

6 真の父母が来られる時になると、世界のすべての国家が兄弟の関係をもつので、第二次世界大戦後に、戦勝国家が敗戦国家を解放させるということが起こりま した。これは、兄の立場から弟を打ったので、弟に福を祈ってあげなければ、来られる父母から罰を受けるので、そのような通常とは異なる歴史的現象が起こっ てきたのです。歴史が願いつつ求めてきたことは、真の父母に出会うことです。宗教が出てくるのも、真の父母に出会うためです。世界が出てくるのも、国が出てくるのも、真の父母を求めるためです。真の父母の道を備えるために出てくるのです。

7 真の父母は全体の希望の象徴です。堕落した人類の前に、絶対的な希望の象徴です。それは歴史的な緒実体であり、時代的な中心であり、世界の国家圏の中心 です。真の父母は、理想世界に連結される未来線上における出発点です。それでは、歴史時代の先祖たちは何を願うのでしょうか。統一の世界は誰と出会うこと を願うのでしょうか。真の父母と出会うことを願います。言い換えれば、真の父母と永遠に相まみえようとするのです。

8「真の父母」という言葉は、歴史時代において、誰も呼び求めてみることができず、誰も考えることができませんでした。しかし、私たちは、呼び求めること ができ、知ることができ、侍ることができる栄光の位置に立っています。このように私たちは、歴史時代の誰よりも幸福な位琶に立っており、誰よりも高貴な位 置に立っています。真の父母という名称とともに、歴史は今まで苦労してきたのであり、真の父母の勝利の基盤を備えるために、歴史的な数多くの犠牲の代価を 払ったことを考えるとき、真の父母という言葉こそ、人類には、福の中の福の言葉なのです。

真の父母によって歴史が治められ、真の父母によって新たな世界に戻り得る起源が生じ、真の父母によってサタンを屈服させ得る内的な関係が決定し、真の父母によって外的な世界を占領しているサタンを征服して、初めて神様を解怨成就してさしあげられる中心が決定するのです。ですから、真の父母と共に生き、真の 父母の命令を受けて行動できる、この驚くべき患みに感謝しなければなりません。

9 真の父母は、人類歴史の最高の希望の存在です。歴史の最高の勝利の基台です。いかなる民族も求めるべき歴史の希望の中心点です。歴史の望むところは、国 でもなく、世界でもありません。外的には、国や世界のように見えますが、外的世界だけでは解決できません。神様の摂理は、世界を救うことが目的ですが、世 界を救おうとすれば、善の父母がこの地上に来て、完全な基台をつくらなければなりません。こうならなければ、国家や世界を救う完全な道は生じません。

ですから、歴史全体の希望は、国でもなく、世界でもありません。真の父母です。ここでは、民族観や、世界観は認められません。民族観も、父母の血統を受け 継いだのちに立てられなければなりません。それができたのちに、氏族を編成しなければならず、民族を編成しなければならず、世界を復帰しなければなりませ ん。父母がいなければ何もありません。真の父母を迎えなければ、何も始まりません。

10 歴史は、何を求めてきたのでしょうか。時代は、何を求めてきたのでしょうか。未来は、何を求めなければならないのでしょうか。真の父母です。全体がこ こに帰結しなければ、歴史過程や宇宙の中から幸せの基準を探してみることができません。

愛の起源は、本来神様と人間を中心として、縦的・横的基盤がすべて同じでなければなりません。違ってしまったこの基盤を同じにすることが堕落した人類の願 いです。このような点で、キリスト教では、イエス様を中心として新郎新婦の関係を結んできたのです。

11 私たちは、目的を千年後の未来に求めるのではありません。私たちの求める目的も、未来の子孫たちが求める目的も、過去に求めるのです。それが真の父母 です。これは過去のものであり、現在のものであり、未来のものです。これは永遠のものです。皆さんは、この理念を中心として近づく世界を歓迎ばかりしてい てはいけません。真の父母を慕いながら、侍っていかなければなりません。したがって、今日、この時代圏内にいる皆さんは、現在に暮らしていますが、過去の 結実であり、未来の起源にならなければなりません。この三時代が一つにならなければならないのです。後ろには過去、前には未来を統合させることができる、 現在の自分にならなければなりません。

それでは、何をもって統合するのでしょうか。真の父母の愛で統合させなければなりません。誰に統合させるのでしょうか。息子、娘に統合させなければなりま せん。その息子、娘は、真の父母の愛を中心とする息子、娘です。言い換えれば、堕落していないアダムとエバが生んだ息子、娘と同じです。ここから天国の息 子、娘になることができます。したがって、三時代の愛の関係をもって生まれた位置が、真の父母の息子、娘になる位置です。たとえ人間が堕落したとしても、 歴史過程を逆に上がっていき、その位置を取り戻さなければなりません。

12 亡くなったと思っていた、本性を中心とする本然の父母がよみがえる、その道を「私」が開拓するためには、言葉で表現できない精誠を込めなければなりま せん。また、誰よりも、天の悲しみに胸が引き裂かれるほど心を痛め、無念さと悔しさを感じる、その位置で忠誠を尽くさなければなりません。そのような心を もって、父母がよみがえる道を築かなければなりません。それが子女の道理であり、孝子の位置に立つことです。これが私たちの責任です。ですから、生死を意 に介することなく、この道を開拓しなければなりません。世の中の良いことと、世の中の迫害と、死の道も意に介することなく、この道を開拓するために忠孝の 心をもたなければなりません。

The Hope of Humankind 

1 There have never been true parents in all of history. Because there were only false parents on the earth, there were no true parents in the heavenly world either. God is called the Parent of humankind, but what position is God in? For God Himself to become a true parent, He must have true children. If He does not, He cannot be a true parent. Therefore, when we look at God’s own position, we see that even though He created us, He could not take the position of the True God, the one who created us. In other words, because the first human ancestors fell, God could not become the True God. If human beings had attained perfection, the true family of humankind with True Parents at the center would have emerged, and together with this true family, the true tribe, true people, true nation and true world would have emerged. If this had happened, people would have had blood ties to the True God and would have inherited the heart of the True God. Being related by blood to the True God, they would have formed the people of the True God. Based on that one people, one nation under God’s direct governance would have been established. True Parents are the hope of history 

2 Because we are fallen people, we are an extended family that has lost its true parents. Since we lost our true parents, we could not become true children. Even though the highest ideals of goodness that God intended to establish at the time of creation—true parents and true children—all broke down, God has vowed that He will bring true parents into being, even if a course of historical hardship is necessary, even if He has to endure endless hardship and suffering. At the same time, God is working to restore true children, true husbands and wives, true siblings, true nations, the true world, true humankind, and the true cosmos. God did not work by coming into the hearts of fallen people from the outset; He started working from a distance. First He connected to fallen people through all things and then through His true Son. Now He intends to come into the heart of each individual to become the Father of heart. This is the final goal of the providence of restoration. (10-126, 1960.09.18)

3 The history of the fallen world shows us that the parents born into this world are fallen parents. Fallen parents have created a fallen world. We live in a world connected to false parents. It has nothing to do with the world of the original ideal that God had envisioned and the True Parents envision. Countless people have lived and died during the world’s long history, but not one could proudly proclaim to the universe, “I am so happy that I was born as a human being! I have succeeded in all aspects of being human.” (137-081, 1985.12.24)

4 The hope of all people in history has been to receive and attend the True Parents. God founded the nation of Israel and the religion of Judaism so that they could receive the Messiah. The Messiah is the True Parent. God created Christianity and Christian culture to receive the Lord at his Second Coming. The returning Lord comes as the True Parent and the third Adam. (51-354, 1971.12.05)

5 What is the hope that we should nurture? We should hope that we can genuinely attend the True Parents who come to the earth on behalf of Heaven. We should not want to attend the True Parents only after they are victorious, when all people look up to them and respect them. We should want to attend them while they are passing through their sorrowful course. Your ancestors feel deep sorrow because they could not attend the True Parents during their course of suffering. It is the hope of all humankind to truly serve the True Parents. Therefore you should become true, filial sons and daughters, willing to serve the True Parents in miserable circumstances rather than in glorious ones. (13-291, 1964.04.12)

6 At the time of the True Parents, advent, the nations of the world were relating to each other as brothers and sisters. At the end of the Second World War, the victorious nations liberated the nations that they defeated. The former, in the position of the older brother, had defeated the latter, in the position of their younger brother. Then these victorious nations blessed the nations in the younger brother’s position. Had they not, the victorious nations would have been held accountable by the Heavenly Parent. That is why this unprecedented historical phenomenon took place. History has been yearning for the encounter with the True Parents. Religions came about for the sake of that encounter. Furthermore, all the nations of the world are looking for the True Parents. Thus, religions and nations emerged with the mission to prepare the way for the True Parents. (51-354, 1971.12.05)

7 The True Parents are the symbol of all hope, the symbol of absolute hope for fallen people. They are the fruit of history, the center of all ages and the center of all the nations of the world. The True Parents are the starting point of a future that connects to the ideal world. What have our ancestors wished for throughout the ages in history? If the world were united, whom would it wish to find? It would wish to find the True Parents. In other words, it would wish to relate with the True Parents eternally. (35-237, 1970.10.19)

8 No one in history was able to call out the name “True Parents.” They never even conceived of it. But today you are in the glorious position of being able to call their name, know them and attend them. So you are in a happier and nobler position than anyone in history: Many people throughout history toiled and made tremendous sacrifices to lay the foundation for the victory of the True Parents at their coming, and to this day they are still toiling. Considering this, you should know that the words “True Parents” that we speak today signify the greatest blessing for humanity. It is because the True Parents are the ones who bring healing to the chaos of history; they are the starting point of our advancement toward a new world; they are laying the internal conditions that can subjugate Satan; and by conquering Satan, the being that has ruled the external world, they are establishing the center that will liberate God. Therefore you should first be thankful for this amazing grace by which you can live together with the True Parents, receiving and carrying out their instructions. (43-144, 1971.04.29)

9 The True Parents represent the greatest hope and the greatest foundation of victory in history. As they are the central point of hope in history, all people must seek them. The place of historical hope is neither a nation nor the world. Outwardly it may appear to be a nation or the world, but you cannot solve the external world’s problems by working through the external world alone. The purpose of God’s providence is to save the world, and in order to do so, He must send good parents to the earth to create a perfect foundation. Without that foundation there is no way to create a perfect nation or to save the world. Therefore, the overall hope of history is neither a nation nor the world; it is the True Parents. In this context, people can have neither their own ethnic views nor their own worldviews. Ethnic views should emerge only after the True Parents, lineage has been bequeathed to humankind. Tribes and peoples should be organized after inheriting their lineage, and then the world can be restored to God. Without True Parents, none of these is possible. Without receiving the True Parents, nothing can work. (55-153, 1972.05.07)

10 What has history been searching for? What have all ages been searching for? What should the future search for? It is True Parents. Unless everything is connected to them, we cannot find the standard for real happiness in the course of history or in the universe. As for love, originally its vertical and horizontal foundations, centering on God and human beings, both have to be the same. Ever since these foundations were separated, fallen humankind has yearned to make them one again. Therefore, Christianity seeks the relationship of the bridegroom and the bride centering on Jesus. 11 We are seeking our purpose now, not a thousand years in the future. The purpose we have found now is one that even our future descendants will look back to. That purpose is the True Parents. The True Parents belong to the past, and also to the present and the future. They are eternal. Based on this understanding, you should not only welcome True Parents in the coming world; you should yearn to attend True Parents in the present. Although you are living in the present era, you should also become the fruit of the past and the origin of the future. The three eras—past, present and future-must become one. Living in the present era, you should become a person who can unite the past that is behind you and the future that is to unfold. By what means will they be united? It is by True Parents’ love. With whom should they be united? It is with their sons and daughters. Who are these sons and daughters? They are those who make True Parents love their center, like the sons and daughters who would have been born of Adam and Eve had they not fallen. They would have come forth from Adam and Eve as the sons and daughters of Heaven. Hence, when you become a son or daughter of the True Parents, you will be connected to the love of the three ages. Even though you are fallen people, you must retrace the course of history and regain that position. (26-200, 1969.10.25)

12 If we understood that our original parents, the parents of original nature, were dead, and found a way to bring those parents back to life, we would have to offer indescribable devotions without words to pioneer that path. Even if we felt wronged and humiliated, with our heartstrings rent and broken by the sorrows of Heaven, we would want to offer unchanging loyalty for their sake. We must prepare the way so that our parents can revive. It is our duty as filial sons and daughters. It is our responsibility. We must pioneer this way without caring whether we live or die. We shouldn’t care about the good things in the world or be dismayed by the bad things, even if the world persecutes us and we have to go the path of death. We must cleave to the way of loyalty and filial piety in order to pioneer this way. (20-123, 1968.05.01)
