特節(특절)은 유달리 뛰어 난 높은 절개이다.

Teuk-jeol(特節,특절) refers to exceptionally outstanding and lofty integrity.

 
그 형상은 흰 눈이 내리는 가운데 푸른 소나무의 모습이요,

  Its image is like that of a green pine tree amid falling white snow;

그 몸은 바다 위에 떠 있는 높고 가파른 바위와 같은 것이다.

  Its stature is like a high, steep rock standing tall above the sea.

特節者는 特特有高節也라 (특절자는 특특유고절야라)

  Teuk-jeol(特節,특절 -Extraordinary integrity) means possessing exceptionally prominent

   and lofty integrity.

其像也 雪裏靑松이요 (기상야 설리청송이요)

  Its image is like a green pine tree amidst the falling snow;

其身也 海上峭巖이라. (기신야 해상초암이라.)

  Its stature is like a steep cliff towering above the sea.
