예수께서 즉시 일러 가라사대 안심하라 내니 두려워 말라                                                                                          (마14:1~36)  마14:12   요한의 제자들이 와서 시체를 가져다가 장사하고 가서 예수께 고하니라Mat14:12   And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.마14:13   예수께서 들으시고 배를 타고 떠나사 따로 빈들에 가시니 무리가 듣고 여러 고을로부터 걸어서 좇아간지라Mat14:13   When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.마14:14   예수께서 나오사 큰 무리를 보시고 불쌍히 여기사 그 중에 있는 병인을 고쳐 주시니라Mat14:14   And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.마14:15   저녁이 되매 제자들이 나아와 가로되 이곳은 빈들이요 때도 이미 저물었으니 무리를 보내어 마을에 들어가 먹을 것을 사먹게 하소서Mat14:15   And when it was sevening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.마14:16   예수께서 가라사대 갈 것 없다 너희가 먹을 것을 주어라Mat14:16   But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.마14:17   제자들이 가로되 여기 우리에게 있는 것은 떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리 뿐이니이다Mat14:17   And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.마14:18   가라사대 그것을 내게 가져오라 하시고Mat14:18   He said, Bring them hither to me.마14:19   무리를 명하여 잔디 위에 앉히시고 떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 가지사 하늘을 우러러 축사하시고 떡을 떼어 제자들에게 주시매 제자들이 무리에게 주니Mat14:19   And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.마14:20   다 배불리 먹고 남은 조각을 열 두 바구니에 차게 거두었으며Mat14:20   And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.마14:21   먹은 사람은 여자와 아이 외에 오천 명이나 되었더라Mat14:21   And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.마14:22   예수께서 즉시 제자들을 재촉하사 자기가 무리를 보내는 동안에 배를 타고 앞서 건너편으로 가게 하시고Mat14:22   And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.마14:23   무리를 보내신 후에 기도하러 따로 산에 올라가시다 저물어 거기 혼자 계시더니Mat14:23   And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.마14:24   배가 이미 육지에서 수리나 떠나서 바람이 거슬리므로 물결을 인하여 고난을 당하더라Mat14:24   But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.마14:25   밤 사경에 예수께서 바다 위로 걸어서 제자들에게 오시니Mat14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.마14:26   제자들이 그 바다 위로 걸어오심을 보고 놀라 유령이라 하며 무서워하여 소리지르거늘Mat14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, lt is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.마14:27   예수께서 즉시 일러 가라사대 안심하라 내니 두려워 말라Mat14:27   But straightway Jesus 네맏 unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.마14:28   베드로가 대답하여 가로되 주여 만일 주시어든 나를 명하사 물 위로 오라 하소서 한 대Mat14:28   And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.마14:29   오라 하시니 베드로가 배에서 내려 물 위로 걸어서 예수께로 가되Mat14:29   And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.마14:30   바람을 보고 무서워 빠져 가는지라 소리 질러 가로되 주여 나를 구원 하소서 하니Mat14:30   But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.마14:31   예수께서 즉시 손을 내밀어 저를 붙잡으시며 가라사대 믿음이 적은 자여 왜 의심하였느냐 하시고Mat14:31   And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?마14:32   배에 함께 오르매 바람이 그치는 지라Mat14:32   And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.마14:33   배에 있는 사람들이 예수께 절하며 가로되 진실로 하나님의 아들이로소이다 하더라Mat14:33   Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.마14:34 저희가 건너가 게네사렛 땅에 이르니Mat14:34 And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.마14:35 그 곳 사람들이 예수 신 줄을 알고 그 근방에 두루 통치하여 모든 병든 자를 예수께 데리고 와서Mat14:35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, the sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;마14:36 다만 예수의 옷가에라도 손을 대게 하시기를 간구하니 손을 대는 자는 다 나음을 얻으니라Mat14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.    예수님께서 자신의 길을 예비하여 준 세례요한이 헤롯대왕에게 목베임을 당한 슬픔을 안고서도 자신에게 다가와서 그의 곁에 있고 싶어하는 자들의 필요와 죄의 용서함의 열매인 병을 낫게 하여 주신 여전히 크신 사랑과 인애로 우리를 품어주심을 보게 되어집니다.    Even while bearing the sorrow of John the Baptist - who had prepared the way for Him and was beheaded King Herod- Jesus continued to embrace with His boundless love and compassion those who came to Him, longing to be near Him. As the fruit of His forgiveness, He healed thier illnesses and met their deepest needs. Through this, we see His unwavering love and tender mercy that still holds us in His embrace.       그렇다 할지라도 예수님께서는 세례요한의 희생이 너무나 큰 안타까운 심정과 그를 죽인 자들에 대한 말을 찾아 보기 힘들고 오히려 주님께서는 하나님께서 맡기신 크나크신 이 땅의 고결한 사명의 사역을 이루어 가시는 것을 보게 됩니다.    Even so, Jesus must have carried the deep sorrow and heartbreak over the sacrifice of John the Baptist. Yet we find no words of condemnation toward those who put him to death. Instead, we see our Lord faithfully continuing the noble mission entrusted to Him by God, accomplishing His great work on this earth with unwavering obedience, love, and compassion.     예수님께서는 살아 있는 동안에 세례요한이 예수님께 질문드렸던 진정 우리의 가장 소망해야 하는 메시야가 맞는지를 묻게 됩니다. 지금처럼 세례요한은 부패한 왕의 결정으로 죽어갔지만 제자들 또한 예수님께서 하시고자 하시는 크나크신 사역이 눈이 보이지 않았기에 어쩌면 이러한 참혹한 상황에서도 그러한 자들에게 대한 침묵은 답답했을 것이란 생각이 듭니다.    During His earthy ministry, Jesus received the question from John the Baptist, asking whether He truly was the Messiah for whom they had long hoped and waited. John was later put to death because of the decision of a corrupt king, and even the disciples could not yet see the greatness of the work Jesus had come to accomplish. Perhaps, in such a tragic situation, HIs silence toward those responsible must have seemed difficult to understand. Yet rather than responding with anger or revenge, Jesus remained steadfast in fulfilling the Father's will and the redemptive mission entrusted to HIm.     더 나아가 십자가에 죽으시면서 까지 사람들에 대한 사랑을 보이시고 이 땅에서 자신의 측근이었던 제자들에게 까지도 이해되지 않아서 모두 흩어지고 주님의 나라에 대한 오해를 가득품으며 십자가의 사건을 저 멀리서 지켜 봐야 했을 제자들의 상황이 오늘 우리에게도 하나님의 나라에 대한 자각이 얼마나 절실한지를 바라보게 하십니다.    Furthermore, Jesus demonstrated His immeasurable love for humanity even to the point of dying on the cross. Even His closest disciples could not fully understand His mission. Filled with miscomceptions about the nature of His Kingdom, they all scattered and could only watch the crucifixion from a distance. Their situation reminds us today of how desperately we, too, need a true understanding and awareness of the Kingdom of God.
