제 41호......明察(명찰)......밝게 살핌......第279事

  Door No. 41 : Myeong-chal(明察,명찰)... Clear discernment(Keen observation)...  Article 279.  

明察(명찰)은 위엄을 갖추되 떠들썩하게 질서를 세우지 않는 것이다.

  Myeong-chal(明察,명찰) means maintaining dignity without imposing order boisterously.

위엄을 갖추되 흩어지게 살피지 않으니 따라서 사람들이 떠들썩하게 하지 않으며 사람들이 흩어지게도 하지 않는다.

  Because one maintains dignity without inspecting in a scattered(haphazard) manner,

  people are neither caused to make a clamor nor driven to scatter.

明察者는 嚴而不明囂하며 (명찰자는 엄이불명효하며)

  Myeong-chal(Clear Discernment) means maintaining dignity without making

  noise(clamor) under the guise of clarity;

   
嚴而不察散이라 (엄이불찰산이라) 

  It means maintaining dignity without examinimg in a scattered(haphazard) manner.

是以로 哲人은 無人之囂하며 (시이로 철인은 무인지효하며)

  Therefore,a wise person leaves no room for people to makeaclamor;

無人之散이니라. (무인지산이니라.)

  And leaves no room for people to scatter.

[Expanation, 풀이]

위엄을 갖추되 사람들의 마음을 흩어지지 않게 한다는 것은 쉽지 않다.

  It is not easy to maintain dignity while preventing people′s hearts and minds from scattering.

이는 모든 문제를 제거 하면서도 음양의 중심에서 벗어나지 않는 다는 것이다.

  This means eliminating all problems while remaining steadfast at the central balance

   of Yin and Yang.
