Summary
Paul explains that because he has received this ministry by God’s mercy, he does not lose heart. He rejects hidden and shameful practices and refuses to distort God’s word, instead commending himself by openly proclaiming the truth before God.
If the gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds have been blinded by the god of this world so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ. Paul emphasizes that he does not preach himself, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and himself as a servant for Jesus’ sake.God, who once commanded light to shine out of darkness, has shone in believers’ hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Christ.
Teaching:
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. The ministry of the Spirit is a ministry that sets people free, just as we ourselves have been set free. To “win people” does not mean to make someone belong to us, but to help them become free in Christ, just as we have been freed in Christ. In this way, both we and they become one in Christ.
May the darkness, confusion, and emptiness in our hearts be removed, and may God’s light be present so that we can hear and understand His Word. We must ask for the light that carries God’s glory within our hearts. Only when we behold the glory of Christ can God’s light shine through us, enabling us to reflect the light of Christ to others.
