Commentary on John 11 (2)
John 11:22 This is Martha's confession of faith to the Lord Jesus.
“But I know, that even now, whatever you will ask of God, God will give it you .”
Does that seem like a great confession of faith?
That’s not right.
These words are exactly like the confessions of faith that believers make these days.
All the Lord has to do is give it to us.
It seems like great faith.
Martha and Mary's faith is that the Lord will give whenever he wants.
Isn’t Jesus the one who can do anything?
However, Martha does not yet have faith that the Lord can save her brother.
The same goes for Maria.
If we make a mistake, our faith may be the same as that of those before the coming of the Holy Spirit.
But take a look at John 11:30 to see where Jesus is now.
“Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.”
Doesn't it seem no different from the church in Laodicea that had the Lord standing outside?
Jesus clearly said, “I am the resurrection, and the life” (John 11:25).
In the resurrection, the dead Lazarus comes back to life and never dies with the life.
Nevertheless, since no one understands those words, they have no effect on the dead Lazarus.
Even though the Lord, who is the resurrection and life, came, they thought it had no effect on the dead Lazarus, so everyone went to the tomb where the dead Lazarus was to weep.
They went to cry and Jesus was standing in the same place where Martha greeted him.
He stood there because no one welcome him.
Jesus Christ is alive.
Right now, the Lord is the resurrection and the life.
Nevertheless, people will go to heaven at the last day and will rise again at the last day.
However, they have faith that the Lord will give them anything they pray for, but they just leave him standing outside and cry out, Lord, Lord.
The reality is that believers are considered okay as long as they pray and cry out, “Lord, Lord.”
The general belief is that , even though Jesus Christ came into us with the tremendous glory of God as the resurrection and the life, they do not need Jesus Christ.
However, Romans 10:13 says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
To be honest, in the past, when I believed in Jesus for forgiveness of sins, believed in Jesus and was saved, believed in Jesus and went to heaven, I did not really understand the reality of these words that when anyone will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
The Holy Spirit teaches the ways of Zion and earnestly appeals to the name of the Lord in the Trinity, so that we can be saved and receive salvation...
I was just frustrated with what was going on in the world, so I prayed and called on the name of the Lord.
However, when your soul is frustrated, if you earnestly call on the name of the Lord, the heavens will open brightly, and this mystery of salvation that comes down from the throne of God and the Lamb is truly amazing.
If you have learned how to move into a place where the Holy Spirit works, I hope you will always earnestly call on the name of the Lord in the Holy Spirit.
Really desperately...
However, like Mary and Martha, when they are frustrated with the affairs of their flesh, they pray to the Lord.
Even when people get sick and problems in life become difficult, we ask people to pray for solutions.
However, people do not call on the Lord to solve the burden of death, which is the cause of life's misfortune.
They get into better food, healthy food, exercise, travel, or hobbies.
Many believers lead such a playful religious life.
When times are less difficult, say, “Lord! “Lord!” but when they face real difficulties, they look for solutions and means, and like Martha and Mary, they just leave the Lord alone.
Because they think that the Lord will not be able to solve the problem like Martha and Mary did.
In fact, we must know that the Lord works in places that are beyond our reach.
The person who calls on the name of the Lord in the face of something impossible is true faith.
Instead of calling on the name of the Lord for things we can do in our daily lives, we must have faith to seek the list in the name of the Lord in desperate situations like this.
“Lord, don’t just stand there, come quickly and save my brother. Why are you outside? I believe that the Lord, who said he is the resurrection and the life, will save my brother.”
This is how it should be.
If the name of the Lord is resurrection and the name of the Lord is life, even though my brother has been dead for four or ten days, the Lord, who is resurrection and life, raise my brother and reveals the glory of God. It should come out like this.
This is how it should be done, but it means that the Lord was just left standing there as a useless person.
What really frustrates us is not the visible pain, but the invisible pain deep in our souls and hearts.
In Christianity, problems that cannot be solved with money must be solved through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, in order to resolve the body of death, we must call on the name of the Lord many times.
Please call on the name of the Lord with a truly broken heart.
Do not cry out in the name of the Lord to stop people from acting like enemies, and do not call on the Lord because of perishable things. Lord, this is how I am. I am still abominable and weak. May the Lord, who is the resurrection and life that brought Lazarus back to life, heal me too. Please call on the name of the Lord earnestly.
If you know the truth through the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit in Christ, have the ways of Zion in your heart, and see the throne of God's grace in your heart, call on the name of the Lord like David.
