6) 부모의 사랑의 특성 - 2

가정을 중심 삼고 볼 때, 자식은 '어머니는 영원히 내 것이다' 합니다. 그 어머니는 자식에게 자기의 피살을 나누어 주면서 좋아합니다. 이것을 볼 때 좋은 것은 뭐냐? 남을 위해 희생하는 것입니다.

친구가 좋다 하는 것도 곧 희생하기 때문입니다. 남한테 주면서도 좋아한다는 것입니다. 좋아하는 것은 남을 위해 희생하면서 자기에게 제일 귀한 것을 주고도 더 주고 싶어하는 것입니다.

주고 나서 그것을 다시 받겠다고 하면서 주는 것이 아니라, 주면서도 너무 적어 부끄러움을 느끼며 주는 것입니다. 그것이 부모의 사랑입니다. 

그러나 자식의 사랑은 그렇지 않습니다. 그래서 부모의 사랑과 자식의 사랑은 다릅니다. 부모는 주면서도 더 좋은 것을 못 주어서 한이고, 자식은 '나는 효자다.' 하면서 만족하게 생각한다는 것입니다.

그래서 부모의 사랑과 자녀의 사랑이 다르다는 거예요. '내가 이렇게 했는데 엄마 아빠는 뭐했어요?'라고 한다는 것입니다.

자식의 사랑에는 한계가 있습니다. 자기라는 한계선을 못 넘는다는 것입니다. 그렇지만 부모의 사랑은 자기라는 한계선을 넘는 것입니다. (36- 290)

6) 父母の愛の特性 - 2

家庭を中心としてみるとき、子どもは「お母さんは永遠に私のものだ」と言います。母親は子どもに自分の血肉を分けてあげながらも喜びます。

これを見るとき、どんなところが良いですか。 他人のために犠牲になるところです。友達が好きだというのも犠牲になるからです。

人に与えながらも喜ぶというのです。喜ぶというのは、人のために犠牲になりながらも、自分が一番大切にしているものを与えても、なお与えたいと思うのです。

後で返せと言いながら与えるのではなく、与えながらも足らなさと恥ずかしさを感じるのです。それが父母の愛です。

しかし、子どもの愛はそうではありません。ですから、父母の愛と子どもの愛は違います。父母は与えながらも、もっと良いものを与えられないことを無念に思い、子どもは「私は孝子だ」と言いながら満足に思うというのです。

だから父母の愛と子女の愛は違うのです。「私はこのようにしたのに、お母さんとお父さんは何をしましたか。」と言うというのです。

子どもの愛には限界があります。自分という限界線を超えられないというのです。けれども父母の愛は自分という限界線を超えるのです。（一九七〇・一二・一三、前本部教会）

6) The Specific Nature of the Love of Parents - 2

When we see children saying, "Mother is mine forever," that mother is happy giving the children her own flesh and blood.

When we see this, what is the point of it? Sacrificing for the sake of others. When we say we like our friends, it is because we sacrifice for them.

We are happy with giving to other people. We are happy because we sacrifice for the sake of others, wanting to give more even after we have given away our most precious possessions.

We do not give wanting to have it back again, but we give feeling ashamed that we have given so little. That is parents' love. 

But the love of children is not like that. That is why the love of parents and the love of children are different.

Parents feel sad even when the are giving for not being able to give something better, while the children think, "I am a dutiful son," and feel satisfied.

That is why the love of parents and the love of children are different. Children say, "I did this much, but what have mom and dad done while I did it?"

There is a limit to the love of children. They cannot overcome this limit themselves, but the love of parents can win over this limit. (36-290)
