I've been studying English with a foreign teacher on the phone.
While talking about vegetables a few days ago, my teacher said, "I hate eating bitter melons."
At that moment, I was not able to catch the sound 'bitter', I just guessed 'bit' or 'beat',
so asked back, every '-melon' tastes good , I know. why hate?
she said again and again , 'it tastes so bad,and it's called ?? in Korea.'
but I couldn't know what she pronounced.
After some efforts later, I finally found out we call it '여주' .
and it's very helpful for young ladies.. and so on....
Someday I want to eat that and see how bitter it is..
