<P>어제 퀸이 한국에서 공연한 것이라는 기사가 나왔었습니다.<BR>그 얘기를 듣고 AP뉴스를 검색해보았는데.....영국과 유럽에서 공연한다는 얘기밖에 없더군요.<BR>오늘 아침에 출근하자마자 스코츠맨 원문 기사를 검색해 보았습니다.<BR>한국이 언급이 되긴 하였습니다만.....<BR> </P>

<P>THE rock band Queen are to go on tour next year with guitarist and vocalist Paul <BR>Rodgers replacing legendary frontman Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS in 1991. <BR>Rodgers, of 1970s blues band Free, impressed the remaining members of the band <BR>when he joined them for several performances this year. <BR>Brian May, in a note posted on his website, said there had been "amazing chemistry" <BR>when he played alongside Rodgers. "It really all came about because of the Fender <BR>50th anniversary gig that I did with Paul Rodgers," he said. <BR>"We were both so amazed at the chemistry that was going on in All Right Now, that <BR>suddenly it seems blindingly obvious that there was ‘something happening here’." <BR>Queen’s popularity endured throughout the 1980s and their stadium anthems, We Will <BR>Rock You and We Are The Champions, were played to packed audiences worldwide. <BR>During the late 1980s, when they had to give up touring because of Mercury’s illness, <BR>they reached new fans with fresh recordings such as The Miracle and Innuendo. <BR>The band’s revival was cut short by Mercury’s death. Since then his memory has <BR>been kept alive with occasional concerts and releases of live material. <BR><STRONG>There are also Queen tribute bands across the world, in Poland, Sweden, Korea, <BR>Norway, Italy, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Australia and Argentina, as well as the UK.</STRONG> <BR>Rodgers first came to prominence in 1968 as a member of the seminal blues group <BR>Free, which with Led Zeppelin and Cream led a revival in British blues music. </P>
<P>- Fairytale of New York, sung by the Pogues and the late Kirsty MacColl, has been <BR>voted the favourite Christmas song. The original Band Aid single, released in 1984,<BR> came second in the poll compiled by music TV channel VH1, followed by Wham’s <BR>Last Christmas. Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody came fourth and this year’s Band Aid <BR>single fifth.</P>
