Q&A
Question
What is the diameter of the net in the video in this article? Should the right hand bunch of net be cast half a second later than the left hand bunch?
Answer
The net used in this video is 10ft in diameter. As for the second part of your question, some throwers prefer to let go with the right hand a split second later than the left to help guide the net, but both hands should release at more or less the same time for best results.
Question
What makes the net not open up in a circle? What am I doing wrong?
Answer
If your net fails to open, there's most likely a snag or tangle in it. Before you set up your throw, hold up the net and shake it a few times to make sure it's draped nice and straight. Make sure you're holding onto one side of the skirt to keep it open just before you initiate the throw.
