All things are echoes of the Voice of God.

모든 것은 하느님 음성의 반향이다.

1 No one can judge on partial evidence. That is not judgment. It is merely an opinion based on ignorance and doubt. Its seeming certainty is but a cloak for the uncertainty it would conceal. It needs irrational defense because it is irrational. And its defense seems strong, convincing, and without a doubt because of all the doubting underneath.

1. 그 누구도 부분적인 증거만 가지고 판단할 수는 없다. 그것은 판단이 아니다. 그것은 단지 무지와 의심에 근거한 의견일 뿐이다. 그것의 외견상 확신은 그것이 감추려는 확신 없음을 가리는 덮개일 뿐이다. 그것은 불합리하므로, 불합리한 방어가 필요하다. 그리고 그것의 방어는 저변의 그 모든 의심으로 인하여 강력하고, 설득력이 있으며, 의심의 여지가 없어 보인다.

2 You do not seem to doubt the world you see. You do not really question what is shown you through the body's eyes. Nor do you ask why you believe it, even though you learned a long while since your senses do deceive. That you believe them to the last detail which they report is even stranger when you pause to recollect how frequently they have been faulty witnesses indeed! Why would you trust them so implicitly? Why but because of underlying doubt which you would hide with show of certainty?

2. 너는 네가 보는 세상을 의심하는 것 같지 않다. 너는 몸의 눈을 통해 너에게 보여지는 것에 진정으로 의문을 제기하지 않는다. 너는 또한 그것을 왜 믿는지 묻지도 않는다. 너의 감각기관은 너를 속인다는 것을 오랫동안 배워왔음에도 불구하고 말이다. 잠시 멈춰, 너의 감각기관이 그동안 얼마나 자주 거짓 증언을 했는지 돌아볼 때, 그것이 보고하는 아주 세세한 부분까지 믿는다는 것은 더욱 이상한 일이다! 그것을 왜 그리 절대적으로 신뢰하려 하는가? 겉만 요란한 확신으로 감추려는 저변의 의심 때문이 아닌가?

3 How can you judge? Your judgment rests upon the witness that your senses offer you. Yet witness never falser was than this. But how else do you judge the world you see? You place pathetic faith in what your eyes and ears report. You think your fingers touch reality and close upon the truth. This is awareness which you understand and think more real than what is witnessed to by the eternal Voice of God Himself.

3. 네가 어찌 판단할 수 있겠는가? 너의 판단은 감각기관이 제공하는 증거에 의존한다. 하지만 이보다 더 잘못된 증거는 결코 없었다. 그러나 네가 달리 어떤 방법으로 네가 보는 세상을 판단하겠는가? 너는 너의 눈과 귀가 보고하는 것에 안쓰러운 믿음을 부여한다. 너는 너의 손가락이 실재를 만지고 진리에 다가간다고 생각한다. 너는 바로 이러한 인식을 이해하며, 이것이 하느님의 영원한 음성이 증언하는 것보다 더 실재적이라고 생각한다.

4 Can this be judgment? You have often been urged to refrain from judging, not because it is a right to be withheld from you. You cannot judge. You merely can believe the ego's judgments, all of which are false. It guides your senses carefully, to prove how weak you are, how helpless and afraid, how apprehensive of just punishment, how black with sin, how wretched in your guilt.

4. 이것이 판단일 수 있겠는가? 그동안 종종 너에게 판단을 삼가라고 간곡히 권한 이유는, 판단이 너에게 유보되어야 할 권리기 때문이 아니다. 너는 아예 판단할 수 없다. 너는 단지 에고의 판단들을 믿을 수 있을 뿐이지만, 그것들은 모두 거짓이다. 에고는 너의 감각기관을 철저히 감독하면서 네가 얼마나 약한지, 얼마나 무력하고 두려워하는지, 응분의 처벌에 대해 얼마나 우려하는지, 얼마나 죄로 시커멓게 물들었고 얼마나 죄의식에 끔찍하게 시달리는지 증명하려 한다.

5 This thing it speaks of and would yet defend it tells you is yourself. And you believe that this is so with stubborn certainty. Yet underneath remains the hidden doubt that what it shows you as reality with such conviction it does not believe. It is itself alone that it condemns. It is within itself it sees the guilt. It is its own despair it sees in you.

5. 에고는 자신이 증명하고 방어하려는 바로 이것이 너라고 말한다. 그리고 너는 그것을 고집스럽게 믿는다. 그러나 저변에는 에고가 그렇게 확신하며 너에게 실재라고 보여주는 것을 정작 에고는 믿지 않을 것이라는 의심이 여전히 감춰져 있다. 에고가 정죄하는 것은 단지 에고 자신뿐이다. 에고가 죄책을 보는 것은 단지 에고 자신 안에서다. 에고가 네 안에서 보는 것은 단지 에고 자신의 절망이다.

6 Hear not its voice. The witnesses it sends to prove to you its evil is your own are false and speak with certainty of what they do not know. Your faith in them is blind because you would not share the doubts their lord cannot completely vanquish. You believe to doubt his vassals is to doubt yourself. Yet you must learn to doubt their evidence will clear the way to recognize yourself and let the Voice for God alone be Judge of what is worthy of your own belief.

6. 에고의 음성을 듣지 말라. 에고는 자신의 악이 네 것이라고 증명하기 위해 거짓 증인을 보내며, 그 증인은 알지도 못하는 것을 확신하며 말한다. 그 증인에 대한 너의 믿음은 맹목적이다. 그 증인의 우두머리도 그 증인에 대한 의심을 완전히 극복하지 못하거늘, 너는 전혀 의심하지 않는다. 너는 에고의 가신들을 의심하는 것은 너 자신을 의심하는 것이라고 믿는다. 하지만 네가 그들의 증거를 의심함으로써 너 자신을 인식할 길이 활짝 열리며, 오로지 하느님을 대변하는 음성만이 무엇이 너의 믿음을 받을 가치가 있는 것인지에 대한 재판관이 된다. 너는 이에 대해 배워야 한다.

7 He will not tell you that your brother should be judged by what your eyes behold in him, nor what his body's mouth says to your ears, nor what your fingers' touch reports of him. He passes by such idle witnesses, which merely bear false witness to God's Son. He recognizes only what God loves, and in the holy light of what He sees do all the ego's dreams of what you are vanish before the splendor He beholds.

7. 그 음성은 너의 눈이 네 형제에게서 보는 것이나, 그의 몸의 입이 너의 귀에 들려주는 말이나, 너의 손가락이 그를 만지고 보고하는 것으로 그를 판단하지 말라고 말해줄 것이다. 그는 하느님의 아들에 대해 거짓되게 증언하는 이러한 허튼 증인들을 그냥 지나칠 뿐이다. 그는 오로지 하느님이 사랑하시는 것만을 인식한다. 그리고 너의 정체에 대한 에고의 꿈은 그가 바라보는 것의 거룩하고 찬란한 빛을 받아 사라진다.

8 Let Him be judge of what you are, for He has certainty in which there is no doubt, because it rests on certainty so great that doubt is meaningless before Its face. Christ cannot doubt Himself. The Voice of God can only honor Him, rejoicing in His perfect, everlasting sinlessness. Whom He has judged can only laugh at guilt, unwilling now to play with toys of sin, unheeding of the body's witnesses before the rapture of His holy face.

8. 하느님의 음성으로 하여금 너의 정체에 대한 재판관이 되게 하라. 그의 확신에는 의심이 전혀 없기 때문이다. 너의 정체는 너무도 큰 확신에 근거하기에, 그 얼굴 앞에서 의심은 무의미하다. 그리스도는 자기 자신을 의심할 수 없다. 하느님의 음성은 그의 완벽하고 영원한 죄 없음에 기뻐하면서 그를 존경할 수만 있을 뿐이다. 그가 판단한 자는 이제 죄의 장난감을 갖고 놀려 하지 않으며, 그리스도의 거룩한 얼굴이 보여주는 황홀경 앞에서 몸의 증인들에게 주의를 기울이지 않고 죄의식을 그저 웃어넘길 수 있을 뿐이다.

9 And thus He judges you. Accept His word of what you are, for He bears witness to your beautiful creation and the Mind Whose Thought created your reality. What can the body mean to Him Who knows the glory of the Father and the Son? What whispers of the ego can He hear? What could convince Him that your sins are real?

9. 하느님의 음성은 너를 이렇게 판단한다. 너의 정체에 대한 그의 말을 받아들여라. 그는 너의 아름다운 창조에 대해, 그리고 너의 실재를 창조한 생각을 생각한 마음에 대해 증언하기 때문이다. 아버지와 아들의 영광을 아는 그에게 몸이 무슨 의미가 있겠는가? 그가 과연 에고의 어떤 속삭임을 들을 수 있겠는가? 무엇이 과연 너의 죄가 실제라고 그를 설득할 수 있겠는가?

10 Let Him be judge as well of everything that seems to happen to you in this world. His lessons will enable you to bridge the gap between illusions and the truth. He will remove all faith that you have placed in pain, disaster, suffering, and loss. He gives you vision which can look beyond these grim appearances and can behold the gentle face of Christ in all of them. You will no longer doubt that only good can come to you who are beloved of God, for He will judge all happenings and teach the single lesson which they all contain.

10. 하느님의 음성으로 하여금 또한 이 세상에서 너에게 일어나는 듯한 모든 일에 대한 재판관이 되게 하라. 그의 레슨은 너로 하여금 환상과 진리 사이의 간격을 메울 수 있게 해줄 것이다. 그는 네가 고통과 재난, 고난과 상실에 부여한 모든 믿음을 제거할 것이다. 그는 너에게 이 잔인한 겉모습 너머를 보고, 그 모든 것에서 그리스도의 온유한 얼굴을 볼 수 있는 비전을 준다. 너는 더 이상 하느님의 사랑받는 너에게는 오로지 선한 것만 올 수 있음을 의심하지 않을 것이다. 그는 일어나는 모든 일을 판단하여, 그 안에 담긴 유일한 레슨을 가르칠 것이기 때문이다.

11 He will select the elements in them that represent the truth and disregard those aspects which reflect but idle dreams. And He will reinterpret all you see and all occurrences, each circumstance, and every happening which seems to touch on you in any way from His one frame of reference, wholly unified and sure. And you will see the love beyond the hate, the constancy in change, the pure in sin, and only Heaven's blessing on the world.

11. 하느님의 음성은 그 안에서 진리를 나타내는 요소들을 골라내고, 헛된 꿈만 반영하는 측면들은 무시할 것이다. 그리고 그는 네가 보는 모든 것, 모든 사건들과 상황들, 그리고 어떻게든 너에게 영향을 주는 듯한 모든 일을 온전히 통합되고 확실한, 자신의 유일한 기준으로 재해석할 것이다. 따라서 너는 증오 너머로 사랑을, 변화에서 불변성을, 죄에서 순수함을, 세상에서 오로지 천국의 축복만을 볼 것이다.

12 Such is your resurrection, for your life is not a part of anything you see. It stands beyond the body and the world, past every witness for unholiness, within the Holy, holy as Itself. In everyone and everything, His Voice would speak to you of nothing but your Self and your Creator, Who is one with Him. So will you see the holy face of Christ in everything and hear in everything no sound except the echo of God's Voice.

12. 이러한 것이 바로 너의 부활이다. 너의 생명은 네가 보는 그 어떤 것의 일부도 아니기 때문이다. 너의 생명은 몸과 세상을 넘어, 거룩하지 않음에 대한 모든 증거를 지나서, 거룩함 안에서, 거룩함 자체만큼이나 거룩하게 서있다. 하느님의 음성은 모든 이와 모든 것에서 오로지 너의 자아에 대해, 그리고 그 자아와 하나인 너의 창조주에 대해서만 말해줄 것이다. 따라서 너는 모든 것에서 그리스도의 거룩한 얼굴을 보고 하느님 음성의 반향만 들을 것이다.

13 We practice wordlessly today, except at the beginning of the time you spend with God. We introduce these times with but a single, slow repeating of the thought with which the day begins. And then we watch our thoughts, appealing silently to Him Who sees the elements of truth in them. Let Him eval‎uate each thought that comes to mind, remove the elements of dreams, and give them back to you as clean ideas that do not contradict the Will of God.

13. 오늘 우리는 하느님과 함께 보내는 시간을 시작할 때를 제외하고는 말없이 연습한다. 우리는 하루를 시작하는 생각을 단 한 번 천천히 따라 말하면서 이 시간을 시작한다. 그런 다음 우리의 생각을 지켜보면서, 그 안에서 진리의 요소를 보는 하느님의 음성을 향해 조용히 호소한다. 그로 하여금 마음에 떠오르는 각 생각을 평가하여 꿈의 요소를 제거한 후, 하느님의 뜻과 모순되지 않는 깨끗한 아이디어로 네게 돌려주게 하라.

14 Give Him your thoughts, and He will give them back as miracles which joyously proclaim the wholeness and the happiness God wills His Son as proof of His eternal Love. And as each thought is thus transformed, it takes on healing power from the Mind Which saw the truth in it and failed to be deceived by what was falsely added. All the threads of fantasy are gone, and what remains is unified into a perfect thought that offers its perfection everywhere.

14. 하느님의 음성에게 너의 생각을 드려라. 그러면 그는 그것을 기적으로 돌려줄 것이다. 그것은 하느님이 당신의 영원한 사랑의 증거로서 아들에게 뜻하시는 온전성과 행복을 기쁘게 선포하는 기적이다. 각각의 생각은 이런 식으로 변형될 것이며, 그에 따라 그 안에서 진리를 보고 거짓되게 보태진 것에 속지 않은 마음으로부터 치유력을 얻을 것이다. 판타지의 그 모든 요소들이 사라지고, 남은 것은 모든 곳에 자신의 완벽함을 제공하는 완벽한 생각으로 통합된다.

15 Spend 15 minutes thus when you awake and gladly give another 15 more before you go to sleep. Your ministry begins as all your thoughts are purified. So are you taught to teach the Son of God the holy lesson of his sanctity. No one can fail to listen when you hear the Voice for God give honor to God's Son. And everyone will share the thoughts with you which He has retranslated in your mind.

15. 깨어나면서 이와 같이 15분을 보내고, 자기 전에 다시 15분을 기쁘게 드려라. 너의 모든 생각이 정화됨에 따라 너의 성직이 시작된다. 그렇게 너는 하느님의 아들에게 그의 성스러움에 대한 거룩한 레슨을 가르치도록 가르침을 받는다. 하느님을 대변하는 음성이 하느님의 아들에게 경의를 표하는 소리를 네가 들을 때, 그것을 듣지 못할 자는 아무도 없을 것이다. 그리고 그가 너의 마음 안에서 재해석한 생각들을 모든 이가 너와 공유할 것이다.

16 Such is your Eastertide. And so you lay the gift of snow-white lilies on the world, replacing witnesses to sin and death. Through your transfiguration is the world redeemed and joyfully released from guilt. Now do we lift our resurrected minds in gladness and in gratitude to Him Who has restored our sanity to us.

16. 이러한 것이 바로 너의 부활절이다. 따라서 너는 세상에 눈처럼 흰 백합 선물을 올려놓아 죄와 죽음의 증인들을 대체한다. 너의 변형을 통해, 세상이 구원되고 죄의식에서 기쁘게 해방된다. 이제 우리는 기쁨에 겨워, 그리고 우리에게 제정신을 회복해 준 하느님의 음성에 대한 감사로 충만하여, 우리의 부활한 마음을 높이 들어올린다.

17 And we will hourly remember Him Who is salvation and deliverance. As we give thanks the world unites with us and happily accepts our holy thoughts which Heaven has corrected and made pure. Now has our ministry begun at last, to carry round the world the joyous news that truth has no illusions and the peace of God, through us, belongs to everyone.

17. 그리고 우리는 매시 정각에 구원이자 해방인 하느님의 음성을 기억할 것이다. 우리가 감사를 드릴 때 세상은 우리와 연합하며, 천국이 교정하고 정화한 우리의 거룩한 생각을 행복하게 받아들인다. 이제 마침내 우리의 성직이 시작되었다. 그것은 진리에는 어떤 환상도 없으며, 하느님의 평화는 우리를 통해 모든 이에게 속한다는 기쁜 소식을 온 세상에 전하는 일이다.
