Summary:
Paul issues a firm personal appeal: he does not want anyone to trouble him anymore, because his own body already bears the marks of belonging to Jesus—marks that testify to the cost he has carried. With that closing note, he turns from defense to blessing, asking that the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ would be with the Galatians’ spirit, and he ends with a simple “Amen.”
Teaching:
Are you troubling the one who proclaims the Word? This can include things like whispering and stirring up confusion, picking fights over the message, listening to the Word and then saying something contrary, showing no response to the gospel while reacting strongly to other things, hearing the Word yet remaining unchanged and not being renewed—and even misleading others by promoting a different gospel.
Paul did not spare his body for the sake of the Word. He lived with Jesus, and his life displays the time he spent with Jesus and the path he walked in following Him. The evidence of living after Jesus and preaching the gospel is what he calls the marks of Jesus.
They are on my body, but they are not my marks - they are marks that came from following Jesus.
