Summary:
Paul describes himself kneeling in prayer before the Father, acknowledging that every family in heaven and on earth finds its true identity in Him.
He prays that God would grant believers inner strength through the Spirit, drawing from the vast richness of His glory. His desire is that Christ would dwell deeply within their hearts as they live rooted and firmly grounded in love.
Paul asks that they would gain the capacity - together with all of God’s people - to grasp the immeasurable scope of Christ’s love, a love that goes beyond human understanding. Through this growing awareness of Christ’s love, believers are to be filled with the fullness of God Himself.
He concludes by praising God, who is able to accomplish far more than believers could ever ask for or imagine, through the power at work within them. All glory, Paul declares, belongs to God in the church and in Christ throughout all generations for eternity.
Teaching:
God’s glory is revealed when we are saved and lift up His name. God’s glory is revealed when we live according to His redemptive plan after receiving salvation. Therefore, we must live each day by the grace of salvation through the Holy Spirit.
When we entrust ourselves to Jesus, He helps us. He leads us from the front and sets boundaries on both sides so that we can walk the right path.
If, regardless of how long we have attended church or how old we are, we know nothing and have gained no spiritual understanding, that would be quite tragic. Let us not forget what it means to live in Jesus and through Jesus. When we are in Christ, we come to know the glory of God, and at that time, God’s name will naturally be lifted up through our lips.
