<P style="TEXT-INDENT: 18pt; MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-char-indent-count: 1.5" ><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt" ><FONT color=#000000><FONT face="맑은 고딕">One out of ten couples is international marriage couple in Korea these days.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>One of my cousins married into a Japanese family and my brother’s brother-in-law also married into a Japanese family.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>And we can see many international marriage couples here and there.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>It means that Koreans are not a homogenous people any longer.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>But even though there are so many international marriage couples in Korea, we can say Koreans are a homogenous people as compared with other countries’ peoples.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P style="TEXT-INDENT: 18pt; MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-char-indent-count: 1.5" ><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt" ><FONT color=#000000><FONT face="맑은 고딕">Even though we are a homogenous people as compared with other countries’ peoples, there is some regional antagonism in this country.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The rivalry between Jeolla and Gyeongsang province can get pretty heated up at times.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The famous rift is based on age-old historical, social and political differences.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Some of the politicians take advantage of the rift between the two regions when they run for office.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We cannot deny that regional factors play a role especially in the political world. </FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P style="TEXT-INDENT: 12pt; MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-char-indent-count: 1.0" ><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt" ><FONT color=#000000><FONT face="맑은 고딕">There are still some conflicts between the two regions among old generations. But fortunately, it is true that the rivalry is somewhat muted among young generations these days.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I think most of my generations don’t care where people are from.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I come from Gyeongsang province but I get along well with my acquaintances who come from Jeolla province.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P style="TEXT-INDENT: 12pt; MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt" ><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt" ><FONT color=#000000><FONT face="맑은 고딕">International marriage couples have been growing up gradually in this generation.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>So our country emphasizes we should live in harmony by understanding and helping each other.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In some senses, mentioning the rivalry between the two regions is quite stupid in this situation.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Anyway, I hope there won’t be any rifts between the two regions when my sons grow up.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
