■ Mastering Energy Flow: Jeroen's Milestone – The First Gateway of Transformative Healing

The fundamental source of power in martial arts is gradually mastered through the energy flow in every movement.

In the 2024 Dutch Workshop's Healing Session, one individual has passed through this gateway for the first time. His name is Jeroen Jerom van Vuure, who began his training in Jinyoung Ssangkumryu in 2018 and has now trained for about six years.

On October 14th, 2024,
during the healing session,
Jeroen finally passed the first gateway by understanding the flow of energy.

It may be difficult for those around him to fully grasp the significance of this moment, but for Jeroen, it marks a transformative and groundbreaking event in his life.

This also represents the first time Jeroen has realized that as long as humans possess physical bodies, everything hinges on the mindset we hold.

Now, he understands the meaning of True Discipline, and to advance further, he must let go of the self-acquired knowledge and beliefs he has accumulated from books and other sources.

To clarify what "letting go" means, here are a few simple examples:

1. Nature (the universe) contains both good and evil. Therefore, each person’s path is shaped by their own will and proceeds accordingly. Whether you cultivate the flower of good or the flower of evil, it will eventually bear fruit. In other words, everything depends on your mindset.

2. Nature does not take sides. Throughout life, whatever we create, we must live within it. We may face struggles, experience pain, find joy, and ultimately, when our energy is depleted, we leave this world.


3. Recognizing the flow of energy—its coming and going—means you are now standing on the edge of a sword.


4. In life, whatever you do, the responsibility is entirely your own. Simply put, do not blame others.


5. The human body:

It is designed to breathe naturally, and that’s how we’ve lived well up until now.

Many people try to gather energy, seeking places or individuals with strong energy to absorb it.
However, the human body naturally takes in and releases energy as needed through our actions. That’s why we have survived this long.

Many people meditate with their eyes closed, trying to see something special. If your body is “downloaded” to see things, it can be a blessing, but what you see may be so varied and even contradictory. Even if you do see something, it is just one grain of sand in the desert. We have lived well so far by simply seeing, feeling, and hearing what is already available to us.

6. Humans with physical bodies, as long as they do not waste energy on unnecessary tasks, pointless pursuits, or distractions, can live less painfully, with fewer difficulties, and in greater abundance and ease before returning to their origin.

This is the first time someone in Jinyoung Ssangkumryu Haedong Kumdo has achieved this, and we expect many more to follow in your footsteps.

Finally, I hope that many more will achieve the honor of passing through this gateway at the 2025 Dutch Workshop.

One beautiful aspect of Haedong Kumdo is the practice of healing through energy flow.

This afternoon, I experienced firsthand how incredible this truly is. It’s all part of the martial art’s energy—when I move with the swords, I tap into the energy that is always present in nature.

It was an amazing feeling and experience!

The Master not only told me about the energy flow but also showed me and helped me feel how energy moves or gets blocked.

I could see and feel it for myself.

We are energy, we are nature, and we are love—and we can heal!

I witnessed and experienced the proof of this. After the healing session, I felt light, full of love, and completely pain-free. I could feel the energy flowing freely.

Such a wonderful gift!
