시편111:1-10 할렐루야! 알렙-베트

전 세계 어느 교회를 가도 소통할 수 있는 단어가 있습니다. 언어와 문화가 달라 공감대를 가질 수 없는 상황에서 '할렐루야' 한마디로 연결됩니다. 수천 년의 시공간을 넘나드는 찬미의 메아리입니다. 어떤 환경과 상황과 사정에 있든 상관없이 찬양 받기에 합당하신 분입니다. 이스라엘 백성들이 바벨론 포로로부터 해방되어 돌아 왔을 때 그들의 심정은 어떠했을까? 70여 년의 세월은 결코 짧은 세월이 아닙니다. 그들은 단순히 해방된 것이 아닙니다. 육적인 놓임을 넘어서, 영적인 아버지의 품으로 돌아오는 것입니다.

그래서 이스라엘 백성들은 이 해방의 기쁨을 계속 기억하고, 더 풍성하게 누리기를 원했습니다. 그 기쁨은 하나님 안에 거함으로만 누릴 수 있는, 하나님만이 주실 수 있는 그 풍성함에서 온 것입니다. 하나님을 의지함으로 갖게 된 근원적인 기쁨. 이것을 이스라엘 백성들은 노래하게 되었습니다. 그것이 바로 시편 111편인데 이 시편은 불과 10절에 불과하지만, 내용은 전 우주만큼이나 광대합니다. 시편 111편은 '답 관 체'입니다. '답 관 체'라는 것은 히브리어 알파벳 첫 글자 22 글자를 각 소절의 첫 글자로 만든 것입니다.

수직적인 관점에서 하나님을 찬양할 때, 수평적인 관점에서 사람들과 참된 하나의 공동체를 이룩할 수 있게 되는 것입니다. 하나가 되는 참된 길은 공동체 백성들이 다 하나님 앞으로 나아가는 것입니다. 하나님께 온 마음을 다하여 그 분께 나아갈 때 진정으로 하나가 될 수 있습니다. 그것은 바로 예배로 하나님께 나아가는 것입니다. 하나님의 백성은 예배의 사람들입니다. 하나님께서 하신 일을 떠올리며 전심으로(신6:4-5)하나님께 감사하며, 하나님을 사랑하는 정직한 자들의 모임과 회중에서 그 일들을 나누며 서로 화답하며 찬양하는 자들입니다.

또한 여호와께서 우리를 위하여 행하신 일들, 역사 속에서 진행하신 일들을 보고 듣고 즐거워하는 자들로서 더욱 그 하나님을 알기 원하며 연구하고 묵상하며 숙고합니다. 그럴수록 기쁨은 커지고 또 나누고 싶고 찬양하고 싶어질 것 입니다. 이런 앎과 삶과 찬양의 아름다운 선순환이 하나님 백성의 방식입니다. 하나님은 그분의 성품에 어울리게 역사 또한 존귀하고 엄위하며, 의롭고 은혜로우며 자비롭습니다. 그 기적 같은 일들을 우리로 기억하게 하시고 오늘 우리가 무엇으로 사는지 깨닫게 하심으로 우리를 찬양의 자리로 이끄십니다.

하나님께서 행하신 존귀하고 위엄 있는 일, 의롭고 진실하고 정의로운 일을 아는 이들의 합당한 반응은 그분을 경외하는 것이요, 그분의 말씀을 준행하는 일입니다. 그 순종이 그를 더욱 통찰력 있는 사람이 되게 하실 것입니다. 그의 입에서 찬양이 끊이지 않게 될 것입니다. 하나님은, 광야보다 하나님을 더 두려워한 자들에게 만나와 메추라기와 물을 먹이셨고, 약속한 땅을 기업으로 얻기까지 친히 앞서 싸우심으로 그 분의 능력을 백성 앞에서 드러내 보이셨습니다.

The proper response of those who know the precious and dignified work that God has done, righteous, truthful and just, is to awe him and to obey his words. The obedience will make him a more insightful man. Praise will continue in his mouth. God met those who feared God more than the wilderness, fed quail and water, and demonstrated his ability in front of the people by fighting directly before he could obtain the promised land as a company.

주님, 인생은 ‘풀어야 할 문제’가 아니라 ‘살아야 할 과제’입니다. 제가 인생의 의문을 푸는데 집착하거나 인생을 낭비하지 않게 하시고 성령님을 의지하면서 하나님을 묵상하게 하옵소서. 기도하게 하소서. 그 하나님을 할 수 있는 최대한의 경배와 찬양으로 묵상하고 의지하게 하소서. 어떤 상황에서든지 하나님의 존재하심과 임재 하심을 잊지 말고, 하나님 앞에서의 삶을 살아가게 도와주옵소서. 힘들고 어려울 때뿐만 아니라, 즐겁고 좋은 상황에서도 하나님만을 경배하게 하옵소서.
