Gais and Dryard headed toward the center of the windmill village, passing through the blazing fields.
The ruined windmills creaked as they turned slowly, and among the broken-down houses, rusty old carts and farming tools that had long been abandoned remained.
“…It must have been a peaceful village originally
Dryard muttered quietly.
Gais said while looking at the fallen well.
“It’s not even a war.”
"Corruption swallowed this place first."
At that moment.
Ddeudeudeudeude…
From within the earth, huge roots split and rose.
The wreckage of the fallen Ents began entwining with the black vines.
"I'm playing!"
Dryard shouted.
The old tree ent, the ironwood ent, and the moss ent rose again, while behind them hundreds of Trigard warriors began to take formation.
From the sky, the wind-hunting eagles circled in a circle, while a huge flock of grasshoppers swarmed across the meadow like a black cloud.
From afar, a herd of deer and a flock of spotted deer began running across the field.
Gais exhaled slowly.
"It keeps pouring in endlessly."
He stretched both of his hands forward.
"Darkness Flame."
Black flames spread across the floor, engulfing a swarm of locusts.
The flames cut through the plain as they spread all the way to Ent’s feet.
However, the iron and wood ent continued advancing through the flames.
Dozens of huge wooden spears flew at once.
Gais raised his hand and focused his arcane magic.
"Vision barrier."
A blue magic barrier spread out, repeatedly deflecting the wooden spears.
Soon after, he aimed the spear forward.
"Dark Lance."
Dozens of black spears fell, covering the sky.
The Trigard archers and spearmen were pierced through as they were, and a huge hole appeared right in the center of the formation.
But the ancient king Ent appeared.
Its enormous body was taller than a windmill, and every time it moved, the surrounding trees shook along with it.
When the ancient king Ent spread his arms wide, hundreds of roots broke through the earth and rose up.
Dryard gritted his teeth.
"This is… It's moving the entire forest
Gais raised his spear straight toward the sky.
"Fire whip."
It wrapped around the roots of dozens of branching flamethrower spears and cut them off in succession.
Then he swung the sword widely.
"Dark Crescent."
A massive crescent-shaped dark strike sliced through the battlefield and flew away.
The body of the ancient king Ent split open deeply, and even the Trigards behind it fell together.
But at that moment.
From the innermost part of the windmill village, a huge bell sound echoed.
Dryard’s expression hardened.
"I servant...”
"I am awakening the guardians of the deeper forest."
Gais quietly adjusted his spear and gripped it.
"Then."
"Let’s stop at that servant first."
The two passed over the collapsed windmill and the burning fields, and began running again toward the village center where the bell tower stood.
