Summary:
The passage calls believers to become strong by relying on the Lord and on His mighty power. It urges them to put on the full armor God provides so that they can stand firm against the schemes of the devil. The struggle they face is not merely against human opponents, but against spiritual forces of evil—rulers, powers, and world forces of darkness operating in the heavenly realm.
Teaching:
We become strong when we are in the Lord. We are strengthened by the power of His might. All human relationships must be formed and maintained in the Lord, and everything in our lives must be within the Lord. And the last stronghold of being in the Lord is the church. No matter what, within the church we must know the hope of God’s calling, know the inheritance He has given us, know His power, and accomplish the work we are called to do.
Do not forget that the devil exists. Do not forget the devil’s existence, his deception, and his power. The devil is so strong that human beings cannot handle him on their own. Therefore, if we are to stand against the devil, we need the power of God.
That is, we must put on the full armor of God. We must put on God’s clothing from head to toe. Only by wearing the full armor of God can we avoid being destroyed by the devil.
