앨버트 해먼드가 1972년 데뷔 앨범 It Never Rains in Southern California 의 리드 싱글로 발표한 곡입니다 .

해먼드가 직접 작사한 이 곡은 1972년 그의 데뷔 차트 히트곡이 되었습니다.

이 곡은 환경 생태학을 주제로 하고 있습니다.

1975년 재발매되자 해먼드는 이 앨범을 국제적으로 히트시켜 서독과 스위스에서는

 차트 톱 10, 오스트리아에서는 톱 20에 올랐다.

이 노래는 해먼드가 1인칭 시점으로 읊조리는 이야기입니다.

 줄거리는 그와 그의 연인이 강가로 캠핑을 갔다가 수영을 하기로 한다는 것입니다. 

다음 날, 밤새 잠을 제대로 자지 못해 몸이 좋지 않아 아침 산책을 나갑니다. 

산책 중 " 은빛 물고기가 옆으로 누워 있는 " 것을 보고, 물고기가 어떻게 죽었을까 궁금해합니다. 

의사를 만나고 나서야 " 바보 같은 사람만 강가로 간다 " 는 말을 듣게 됩니다 .

이 노래는 현재의 관행이 계속된다면 환경에 미칠 부정적인 영향을 묘사합니다
