이사야54장 말씀입니다.

1. 오 수태하지 못하는 자여, 노래할지어다. 아이를 배지 못해 산고를 치르지 못한 자여, 너는 소리 내어 노래하고 크게

    외칠지어다. 황폐한 자의 아이가 결혼한 아내의 아이보다 더 많으니라. {주}가 말하노라.

Sing, O barren, thou [that] didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou [that] didst not travail with child: for more [are] the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

2. 네 장막 터를 넓히며 그들이 네 처소의 휘장들을 널리 펼치게 하라. 아끼지 말고 네 줄을 길게 하며 네 말뚝을 강하게

    하라.

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

3. 네가 오른쪽과 왼쪽으로 터져 나가고 네 씨가 이방인들을 상속하며 황폐한 도시들을 사람이 거주하는 곳이 되게

    하리라.

For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

4. 두려워하지 말라. 네가 부끄러움을 당하지 아니하리라. 당황하지 말라. 네가 수치를 당하지 아니하리라.

    네가 젊은 시절의 수치를 잊고 과부 때의 치욕을 다시는 기억하지 아니하리라.

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

5. 너를 만드신 이는 네 남편이니 만군의 {주}가 그의 이름이니라. 그는 네 [구속자]요, 이스라엘의 [거룩한 자]니 그는

    온 땅의 [하나님]이라 불리리라.

For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

6. {주}가 너를 부르되 마치 버림받아 영이 괴로운 여인 곧 젊어서 거절당한 아내를 부르는 것 같이 하였도다.

    네 [하나님]이 말하노라.

For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

7. 내가 아주 잠시 동안 너를 버렸으나 큰 긍휼로 너를 모을 것이요,

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

8. 내가 조금 진노하는 중에 내 얼굴을 잠시 네게 숨겼으나 영존하는 친절로 너를 긍휼히 여기리라. 네 [구속자] {주}가

    말하노라.

In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

9. 이것이 내게는 노아의 물들과 같으니라. 내가 다시는 노아의 물들이 땅을 덮지 못하게 할 것을 맹세한 것 같이 네게

    노하지 아니하며 너를 꾸짖지도 아니하기로 맹세하였나니

For this [is as] the waters of Noah unto me: for [as] I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

10. 산들이 떠나가고 작은 산들이 움직일지라도 내 친절이 너를 떠나지 아니하며 내 화평의 언약도 움직이지

      아니하리라. 너를 긍휼히 여기는 {주}가 말하노라.

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

11. 오 고난 당하며 폭풍에 밀려다녀 위로를 받지 못한 자여, 너는 보라. 내가 아름다운 색깔로 네 돌들을 쌓으며

      사파이어로 네 기초를 놓고

O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, [and] not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

12. 마노로 네 창문을 만들며 홍옥으로 네 성문을 만들고 네 모든 경계를 아름다운 돌들로 꾸미리라.

And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

13. 또 네 자녀들이 다 {주}에게 가르침을 받으리니 네 자녀들에게 큰 평강이 있으리라.

And all thy children [shall be] taught of the LORD; and great [shall be] the peace of thy children.

14. 너는 의 안에서 굳게 서리라. 네가 두려워하지 아니할 터인즉 학대가 네게서 멀리 떨어질 것이요, 두려움이 네게

      가까이 오지 못할 터인즉 그것도 멀리 떨어지리라.

In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

15. 보라, 그들이 확실히 함께 모일지라도 나로 말미암아 모이지 아니하리니 누구든지 함께 모여 너를 치는 자는 너로

      인하여 쓰러지리라.

Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

16. 보라, 불 속의 숯에 바람을 불어 자기 일에 쓸 도구를 만드는 대장장이도 내가 창조하였고 멸하려고 파괴하는 자도

      내가 창조하였느니라.

Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

17. 너를 치려고 만든 어떤 무기도 형통하지 못하리라. 재판할 때에 너를 치려고 일어날 모든 혀를 네가 정죄하리니

      이것이 {주}의 종들의 유산이니라. 그들의 의는 나로 말미암은 의니라. {주}가 말하노라.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD.
