천성경 (증) - 261. 바다는 무한한 자원의 보고

19 바다를 좋아해야 됩니다. 개척해야 됩니다. 육지의 3배나 되는 바다를 무시할 수 없습니다. 이제부터 해저에 있는 자원을 누가 개발하느냐? 지상에 금은보화 석유가 있다고 하지만, 바다는 육지보다 3배나 넓으니 3배가 묻혀 있습니다. 그것을 개발할 수 없었는데 이제 수산자원 개발에 착수해야 됩니다.

20 물은 얼굴이 없습니다. 담는 대로 어디든지 틀림없이 거기를 채워 줍니다. 천만상을 가질 수 있습니다. 조그만 그릇에 담으면 조그맣게 되고, 큰 탱크에 담으면 큰 탱크가 되고, 집채보다 더 큰 곳도 꽉 찹니다. 그렇게 큰 바다 자체도 하나의 얼굴로 보는 것입니다. 태평양 대서양 인도양 등 오대양이 있지만, 하나의 얼굴과 마찬가지입니다. 여러 가지 모양을 가지고 있습니다. 지구성의 금은보화는 해저에 많습니다. 바닷속에 많다는 것입니다. 선생님은 거기에 관심이 있습니다. 남들이 손댄 것은 원치 않습니다. 해저의 모든 금은보화를 얼마든지 파낼 수 있습니다. 요즘에는 과학이 발달했기 때문에 섬에서 바다 밑으로 몇 십리 굴을 뚫어서 무엇이든지 할 수 있습니다. 그렇기 때문에 바다를 점령하는 것이 중요합니다.

21 심각한 기아문제를 해결할 수 있는 대안은 어디에 있느냐? 지구성의 75퍼센트를 차지하고 있는 해양권이야말로 새로운 자원의 보고입니다. 바다는 각종 공해와 자원의 고갈로 인해 죽어 가고 있는 지구성을 회생시키고 인류의 밝은 미래를 약속해 줄 새로운 원자재의 보고입니다.

22 바다의 자원이 얼마나 방대하냐 하면, 이 육지가 문제 아닙니다. 앞으로 연료 문제를 보게 되면 유류 연료라든가 석탄 연료, 전기를 중심한 시대는 지나갑니다. 전기도 한계가 있습니다. 이제 에너지 보급처는 바다밖에 없습니다. 수소를 개발하는 길밖에 없다는 것입니다.

23 앞으로는 과학적으로 식량을 무진장 만들 수 있습니다. 그것을 지금은 왜 못 만드느냐 하면 원가가 많이 들기 때문입니다. 연료비가 많이 듭니다. 앞으로 수소에너지를 해결하게 될 때 에너지는 무진장입니다. 에너지가 너무 많아서 주체할 수 없게 됩니다. 그러니까 먹을 것도 얼마든지 주체할 수 없게 만들 수 있습니다. 그러면 혼자서 먹고살기가 심심하니까 길거리를 가는 사람보고 ‘어서 좀 먹고 가소. 그리고 이야기 좀 합시다!’라고 할 때가 올지 모릅니다. 그러니 지금부터 준비하자는 것입니다. 우리 후손들이 잘살 수 있게 우리가 그렇게 만들어야 됩니다.

24 바다에 가 보면 바다는 단조롭습니다. 수평선밖에 없습니다. 그렇지만 내용은 얼마나 복잡한지 모릅니다. 또 자원으로 말하더라도 육지보다 많은 자원을 갖고 있습니다. 거기에는 무진장의 보화가 있습니다. 인간이 좋아하는 모든 보물들이 거기에 잠겨 있습니다. 이와 같은 바다를 점령하려면 무엇이 필요하냐? 미국의 개척시대에 서부의 광산을 찾아가기 위해서 모험을 무릅쓰던 것을 생각해 보십시오. 그때 모험적이요 용맹스러운 사람에게 그것을 소유할 수 있는 특권이 있었던 것과 마찬가지로, 그렇게 모험의 고개를 몇 번이나 넘어가지 않고는 보물을 차지할 수 없습니다. 지금까지는 배들이 왔다 갔다 하는 항로를 소유하기 위해 싸움을 했지만, 바닷속의 것을 소유하기 위한 투쟁을 하지 않았습니다.

25 앞으로 바다의 주인은 누가 되느냐? 지구에 대변동이 벌어지면 바다 가운데 육지가 생겨날 수도 있고, 육지가 바다로 될 수도 있습니다. 만일 태평양 가운데 미국보다 더 큰 육지가 생겨난다면 그 땅은 누구의 땅이 되겠습니까? 그렇게 안 된다고 말할 수 없습니다. 언제 그렇게 될지 아무도 모릅니다. 바다 밑이라고 화산맥이 없는 것이 아닙니다. 그래서 ‘2백 해리 이내의 어디든지 내 것이다.’라고 주장하는 사람이 있으면 좋겠는데 그런 사람이 없습니다. 틀림없이 때가 올 것입니다. 바다를 중심삼고 싸우는 시대가 올 것입니다. 그때에 바다를 소유할 수 있는 사람은 용맹하고 개척정신이 있어야 합니다. 그러지 않고는 바다의 주인이 될 수 없는 것입니다.

26 앞으로 세계를 지도할 수 있는 사람은 바다를 지킬 줄 아는 사람입니다. 인류가 해저의 보화 보물을 자기들의 모든 권력과 문화적 배경, 전통과 국력을 투입해서 개발하는 시대가 옵니다. 그것을 개발하기 위해서는 해양지역을 누가 먼저 점령하느냐 하는 문제가 관건입니다. 이런 문제를 놓고 볼 때 참부모의 이름을 가진 역사적인 책임자로서 앞으로 통일교회가 머무를 수 있는 기지로 어떤 곳을 남겨 줄 것이냐? 그곳은 바닷가입니다. 앞으로 바닷물을 이용한 수산업, 양식업은 무한한 것입니다.

27 북극에는 8백 미터의 눈이 쌓여 있습니다. 그것은 깨끗한 물입니다. 천년 전에 쌓인 맑은 물이라는 것입니다. 공해가 없습니다. 그 물은 만년 후에도 깨끗한 물입니다. 남극도 마찬가지입니다. 얼음 아래에 인공적으로 얼음판의 문화도시, 뉴욕 같은 도시를 지었다면 많은 사람들이 관광을 가겠습니까, 안 가겠습니까? 그거 짓는 것은 문제없습니다. 생각만 해도 기분이 좋습니다. 터널을 한번 만들어 놓으면 만년 터널이 되고 허물어지지 않습니다. 일년에 한 번씩 냉수를 뿌려 놓으면 꽝꽝 얼기 때문에 자꾸자꾸 튼튼해지는 것입니다. 점점 강하게 됩니다.

28 얼음 아래에서 농사를 지을 수 있는 때가 왔습니다. 거기에서 꽃도 피는 것입니다. 알래스카 같은 데 가면, 높은 산중엔 만년설이 있고, 그 중간에는 풀이 돋아 있고, 그 아래에는 꽃이 피고, 그 아래에서는 낚시질하고 그런다는 것입니다. 얼마나 아름다운 선경(仙境)인지 모릅니다. 아름답고 물 맑고 공기 좋고, 모든 생태적 조건을 골고루 갖춘 환경이라는 것입니다. 한번 취미 삼아 갔다가 맛을 들이게 되면 거기서 살고 싶지 나오고 싶지 않다는 것입니다. 지금 선생님이 이렇게 노력하는 것도 그런 것이 있는 곳이기 때문입니다.

29 젊은 사람들은 바다에 대해서 관심을 가져야 합니다. 선생님이 24시간 대서양 바다로 나가는 것은 바다를 사랑했다는 전통을 세우기 위해서입니다. 배 타는 사람은 바다에 나가면 6개월 내지 1년 만에 돌아오기 때문에 여자들은 뱃사람을 싫어합니다. 그렇기 때문에 뱃사람이 점점 적어지는 것이 세계적인 경향입니다. 그래서 우리가 이것을 인수해야 되겠습니다. 그러니까 앞으로 세계의 해상권을 우리가 장악해야 됩니다. 앞으로 육지보다도 바다에 주력할 때가 온다는 것을 알아야 합니다. 그렇기 때문에 선생님이 바다에 관심을 갖고 있습니다. 선생님이 바다에 관심을 갖고 있는 것이 그러한 목적 때문이라는 것을 알고, 여러분도 바다에 관심을 가지라는 것입니다.

19 海を好きにならなければなりません。開拓しなければなりません。陸地の三倍にもなる海を無視することはできません。これから、誰が海底にある資源を開発す るのでしょうか。地上には、金銀財宝や石油があるといいますが、海は陸地より三倍も広いので、その三倍が埋まっているのです。それを開発できずにいたので すが、今から水産資源の開発に着手しなければなりません。


20　水には、決まった顔、形がありません。入れたとおりに、どこでも、間違いなくそこを満たしてくれます。千万の表情をもつことができます。小さな器に 入れれば小さくなり、大きなタンクに入れれば大きなタンクになり、家全体よりももっと大きな所も隙間なく満たします。
あのように大きな海も、一つの顔として見るのです。太平洋、大西洋、インド洋など五大洋がありますが、一つの顔と同じです。いくつもの形をもっています。
 地球星の金銀財宝は、海底に多くあります。海の中に多いのです。先生は、そこに関心があります。他の人が手をつけたものは願いません。
 海底のすべての金銀財宝を、いくらでも掘り出すことができます。最近は科学が発達したので、島から海底まで何十里と穴を掘り、何でもすることができます。 ですから、海を愛するのが重要なのです。


21　深刻な飢餓問題を解決できる代案は、どこにありますか。地球星の七五パーセントを占めている海洋圏こそ、新しい資源の宝庫です。海は、各種の公害と 資源の枯渇によって死んでいく地球星を生き返らせ、人類の明るい未来を約束してくれる、新たな原材料の宝庫です。


22　海の資源がどれほど膨大かというと、この陸地は問題になりません。今後の燃料問題を考えるとき、油類燃料や石炭燃料、電気を中心とした時代は過ぎ去 ります。電気も限界があるのです。今やエネルギーの補給源は海にしかありません。水素を開発する道しかないのです。


23　今後は、科学的に食糧を無尽蔵に作ることができます。今はなぜそれを作れないかというと、原価が多くかかるからです。燃料費が多くかかります。今 後、水素エネルギーを解決すれば、エネルギーは無尽蔵です。エネルギーがあまりにも多くて処理しきれないほどになります。ですから、食べ物もいくらでも、 食べきれないほど作れるのです。そのようになれば、独りで食べるのがつまらないので、通りがかりの人に、「ちょっと食べていきなさい。そして、ちょっと話 をしましょう」と言う時が来るかもしれません。ですから、今から準備しようというのです。私たちは、子孫が豊かに暮らせるようにしてあげなければなりませ ん。


24　海に行ってみると、海は単調です。水平線しかありません。しかし、その中はどれほど複雑か分かりません。また資源にしても、陸地より多くの資源を もっています。そこには無尽蔵の宝物があるのです。人間の好きなあらゆる宝物がそこに沈んでいます。このような海を占領しようとすれば、何が必要でしょう か。アメリカの開拓時代に、西部の鉱山を見つけるために危険を顧みることなく冒険したことを考えてみてください。そのとき、冒険的で勇猛だった人にそれを 所有する特権があったのと同じように、冒険の峠を何度も越えていかなければ宝物を手に入れることはできません。今までは、船が行ったり来たりするための航 路を手に入れる争いをしましたが、海の中の物を所有するための闘争はしなかったのです。


25　今後、誰が海の主人になるのでしょうか。地球に大変動が起これば、海の中に陸地が発生し、陸地が海になるかもしれません。もし、太平洋の真ん中にア メリカよりも大きな陸地が生じれば、その土地は誰の土地になるのでしょうか。そのようにならないとは言い切れません。いつそのようになるか、誰も分かりま せん。海の底だからといって、火山脈がないわけではありません。それで、「二百海里以内はどこも私のものだ」と主張する人がいればいいのですが、そのよう な人がいません。間違いなく、時が来るでしょう。海を中心として闘う時代が来るのです。その時、海を所有できる人は勇猛で開拓精神がなければなりません。 そうでなければ海の主人になれないのです。


26　これから世界を指導できる人は、海を守れる人です。海底の宝、財宝を、人類が自分たちのすべての権力と文化的背景、伝統と国力を投入して開発する時 代が来ます。それを開発するためには、海洋地域を誰が先に占領するかという問題が鍵になります。このような問題を見るとき、真の父母の名をもった歴史的な 責任者として、今後統一教会がとどまる基地として、どのような所を残してあげるのでしょうか。それは海辺です。今後、海水を利用した水産業、養殖業は無限 なのです。


27　北極には八百メートルの雪が積もっています。それはきれいな水です。千年前に積もった、澄んだ水だというのです。公害がありません。その水は万年後 にもきれいな水です。南極も同じです。氷の下に、人工的に氷の文化都市、ニューヨークのような都市を造ったとすれば、多くの人々が観光に行くでしょうか、 行かないでしょうか。それを造るのは問題ありません。考えるだけでも気分が良いのです。トンネルを一度造っておけば万年トンネルとなり、崩れることはあり ません。一年に一度ずつ冷水をまいておけば、かちかちに凍るので、どんどん丈夫になっていくのです。だんだんと強くなるのです。


28 氷の下で農業ができる時代が来ました。そこに、花も咲くのです。アラスカのような所に行くと、高い山中には万年雪があり、その中間には草が生えていて、そ の下には花が咲き、その下では釣りをしているというのです。どれほど美しい仙境か分かりません。美しく、水は澄み、空気はきれいで、すべての生態的条件を くまなく備えた環境です。一度行って味を占めてしまうと、そこで暮らしたいと思うようになり、出ていきたいと思わなくなるのです。今、先生がこのように努 力するのも、そのようなものがある所だからです。


29 若い人たちは、海に関心をもたなければなりません。先生が二十四時間、海に出掛けるのは、海を愛したという伝統を立てるためです。船乗りは海に出ると、六 カ月から一年は帰ってこないので、女性たちは船乗りを嫌います。ですから、船乗りが次第に少なくなっているのが世界的な傾向です。私たちがこれを引き継が なければなりません。これから世界の海上権を正しく管理しなければなりません。今後、陸地よりも海に力を注ぐ時が来るのです。それで、先生は海に関心を もっているのです。先生が海に関心をもつのは、そのような目的のためだということを理解して、皆さんも海に関心をもちなさいというのです。

19 We should love the ocean. We need to pioneer it. We cannot afford to ignore the ocean; it covers an area about three times the area of land. Who do you think is going to develop the resources that can be found at the bottom of the ocean? We can find oil—black gold—on land, but the ocean is three times larger, so we can expect to find perhaps three times more oil under the sea. 20 Water has no one expression‎‎. It takes on the exact form of its container and fills it completely, so it can have a myriad of shapes. In a small container it is very small; in a big tank it becomes huge. In a house, it can fill the whole house. The huge oceans are some of its faces. The Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean are faces of water. Water has so many shapes. Most of the treasures on planet Earth can be found at the bottom of the ocean. I am very interested in this part of the world. I don't want what others have already touched. All the treasures at the bottom of the sea can be mined. Their quantity is huge. We have developed technologies that permit tunneling even tens of kilometers under the ocean floor from an island, in any direction. Conquering the ocean is important work.( 263-019,19940816)

21 Where can we find a solution to the problem of world hunger? The oceans that cover about 75 percent of planet Earth are a treasure trove of natural resources. The ocean has an abundance of valuable resources that promise a bright future for all human beings, who are suffering from a lack of resources and dying from various kinds of pollution.( 20110217)

22 The vast resources of the ocean are much greater than those on land. When we consider the issue of fuel, the time of using oil, gas and electricity will soon pass. Electricity has its limits. Now the remaining source of energy supply is nothing other than the ocean. There will be no other path but to develop hydrogen power.( 094-131,19770730)

23 In the future, science will uncover means to create an unlimited supply of food. The reason we cannot do so now is because the costs are very high. The cost of fuel is so high. However, when hydrogen power is developed, we will have an unlimited supply of energy. We will have an overabundance of energy. Then we can make as much food as we want, so much that we will not know what to do with it all. Since it will be boring for us to eat all that food alone, we will approach people on the street and say, "Come and share some of this food with me and let's talk for a while." We don't know when that time will come, but 1 am saying we should start preparing now. We need to create those circumstances so that our descendants will be able to live comfortably.( 141-223,19860222)

24 When you look at the ocean it appears very monotonous; there is nothing to see but the horizon. But in reality it is extremely complex. Moreover, its resources are far more abundant than those on land. In fact, the ocean is a place of unlimited treasures. All the precious things that people like can be found locked away in the ocean. So what do you think is necessary to tap the ocean? Think about how America was developed, and how many people undertook all kinds of adventures to find and mine precious minerals in the American West. At that time, adventurers and fearless, courageous men were given rights of ownership. Similarly, unless you undertake many adventures and challenge your limits, you cannot become the owner of a treasure. Up to this point, people have fought to gain control of the routes on which ships travel across the oceans, but they have not valued ownership of the resources that actually exist in the sea.( 128-247,19830828)

25 Who will be the owner of the oceans in the future? If a great cataclysm were to occur, land could rise up from the middle of the ocean while dry land could sink into the sea. If a land mass greater than that of the United States appeared in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, who would be its owner? No one can say this kind of thing is impossible. Nobody knows when such a thing could happen. There are also volcanoes at the bottom of the sea. Until now, it would have been no problem to say, "Everything outside two hundred nautical miles from any coast belongs to me." No such person appeared, but such a time will definitely come. The day will come when people will fight over the oceans. At that time, the people who want to be the owners of the ocean will need a dauntless pioneer spirit. 26 The future leaders of the world will be those who can protect and preserve the oceans. The time is coming when humankind will invest and devote all its power, culture, traditions and national resources into developing the riches and treasures that lie at the bottom of the sea. However, the key point is who will be in a position to command the oceans and pursue that development. When I am faced with this problem, I ask myself, as the founder of the Unification Church and True Parent responsible for human history, what base of operations am I going to leave for the future of the church? 27 The North Pole has snow more than eight hundred meters deep. There is fresh water that accumulated thousands of years ago. It is not polluted but clean, even after ten thousand years. It is similar at the South Pole. If we were to build a cultural city like New York City below the ice, do you think many people would come to see it or not? This could actually be done. Just thinking about it is exciting. If you built a tunnel through the ice, it could last for ten thousand years; it would not collapse. 28 The time has come when we can farm under the ice. We can even get flowers to bloom there. If you go to Alaska, the tall mountains are covered with glaciers, and grass grows in the central regions. South of there, flowers bloom and people go fishing. You have no idea what a beautiful and enchanted land it is. It is lovely, with clean water and clear air, a perfect, ecologically balanced environment. If you ever visit Alaska on vacation and enjoy it, you will want to live there and never leave.  29 Young people should develop an interest in the ocean. The reason I go out to the sea and stay there for twenty-four hours at a time is to establish a tradition of having loved the ocean. People who work as seamen and go to sea usually come back six months to a year later. Because of this, most women don't want to marry them. For this reason, the global trend has been toward a reduction in the number of mariners. Therefore, we should become strong in the ocean businesses and, in the future, we should become a leading force in the marine industry. The time will come when we will concentrate our efforts on the ocean more than on the land.
