폭탄주 마신 날 밤은 항상 위험하다. 몸이 언제 폭발할지 모르기 때문이다 한번 폭발하기만 하면 그 위력은 대단하다. 튀밥 기계가 내는 소리보다 더 큰 '펑' 소리와 함께 위장, 간장, 심장, 그리고 구불구불한 모든 창자들이 갈기갈기 찢겨 날아가 투명하고 냉정한 무의식의 저편 유리창에 붙어 걸레 조각처럼 바람에 나부낀다

수색조가 먼저 출발한다. 그들은 암울한 빛깔의 거리를, 콘크리트 빌딩의 단단함을 깨어 있는 전조등으로 수색한다. 그 후 무등산 발치에서 무전을 친다. "이상 없음. 오버!" 나는 자동차에 폭탄을 그득 싣고 위험한, 아니 적이 안심이 되는 잠행을 감행한다. 그렇지만 이데올로기가 살고 있다는 피안으로 통하는 ‘배고픈다리’를 건너는 일은 언제나 매우 위험하다. 그 다리는 한밤중에도 공복처럼 차디찬 욕망으로 빛나고 있기 때문이다.

다리를 무사히 건넜을 때가 더 큰 문제다. 수풀의 어둠 속에 깃들어 잠자던 뻐꾸기, 부엉이, 소쩍새, 그리고 참을 수 없이 가벼운 참새 새끼들의 존재까지 모두 깨어 일어나서 '펑, 펑, 퍼버벙 뻥!' 폭발음을 내며 차디찬 대리석 난간에 피투성이로 튀겨 붙는다. 아, 위대한 자연의 폭발이다
