천성경 (증) - 275. 천상천국과 천상지옥

16 아담 해와가 타락함으로써 이 지구성은 사탄이 지배하게 되었고, 영계에는 지옥이 생겨났습니다. 그래서 사탄이 지배할 수 있는 판도는 지상지옥 세계와 천상지옥 세계까지입니다. 그렇기 때문에 그것을 해방해야 됩니다. 타락이 없었으면 지상지옥도 천상지옥도 생겨나지 않았고, 하나의 이상적 천국으로만 귀착될 것이었는데, 타락으로 말미암아 두 세계에 사탄이 지배할 수 있는 세계 형태가 나타났습니다. 그래서 이것을 해소해야 됩니다.

17 몸 마음이 하나 안 됐으면 거기에 해당하는 분야는 악마의 영토가 됩니다. 지옥이 따로 있고 천국이 따로 있는 것이 아닙니다. 다 나에게 있습니다. 여러분 자신이 사랑을 중심삼고 몸을 감화시켜 놓을 수 있고, 사랑을 중심삼고 자기 생명을 넘고 자기의 혈통을 부정할 수 있는 운동을 일으켜야만 이 사악한, 음란한 세상을 깨끗이 청산할 수 있습니다. 그러한 하나님의 도리를 가르침으로써 하나님의 가정윤리, 하나님의 종족윤리, 하나님의 민족윤리, 하나님의 국가윤리, 하나님의 세계윤리가 지상에 벌어질 때 지상천국이 되고, 지상천국에 살던 사람이 그냥 그대로 들어가는 곳이 천상천국입니다.

18 참사랑의 본궁은 생식기입니다. 참사랑은 절대적입니다. 참사랑은 유일·불변하기 때문에 절대적입니다. 그렇기 때문에 역대 선조들을 보더라도 이 문제가 흐트러지게 되면 결국 가정도 붕괴되고, 사회도 붕괴되고, 정치도 붕괴됩니다. 소돔과 고모라도 그것이 흐트러졌기 때문에 가정이 붕괴되고, 사회도 붕괴되고, 국가도 붕괴된 것입니다. 그 결과는 붕괴되는 것입니다. 지옥입니다. 그러니까 천국과 지옥이 따로따로 있는 것이 아닙니다. 그렇기 때문에 지옥 같은 환경에서 살아간다고 해서 지옥에 가는 것이 아닙니다. 천국과 지옥은 자기 자신에게 달려 있습니다. 참된 사랑을 어지럽히는 근거지는 그것 이외에는 없습니다. 참된 생명을 더럽히는 곳은, 참된 혈통을 더럽히는 곳은 거기밖에 없습니다. 어떤 행동으로도 그것을 더럽힐 수 없습니다.

19 지상의 천국은 어떤 곳이냐? 빚 안 지기 위해서 노력하고, 서로 빚 지우려고 노력을 하는 곳이 지상에 생기면 그곳이 지상의 천국입니다. 천상천국은 어떤 곳이냐? 천국 가는 사람은 빚을 진 사람이 없습니다. 선생님이 아는 천국은 그런 천국이 아닙니다. 세상에서 사는 동안에 나라에 빚을 지우고, 인류 앞에 빚을 지우고, 하나님 앞에 빚을 지우려고 노력했던 사람이 가는 곳이 천국입니다. 그 나라 앞에, 인류 앞에, 하나님 앞에 빚지려고 한 사람은 천국이 아니라 지옥에 가 있습니다. 빚을 지우려고 노력하는 사람의 자리는 언제나 승리하는 자리입니다. 이것은 과거에도 승리했고, 오늘도 승리하고, 미래에도 승리할 것입니다. 그렇게 빚을 지우고 승리한 권한을 가지고 갈 수 있는 곳이 천국입니다.

20 여러분이 50평생을 살았다고 할 때, 그 50평생에서 25년 이상을 이 우주를 위하고 천륜을, 천리를 위해 살았다면 천국에 갑니다. 그렇게 살았으면 좋은 영계에 가서 머무를 수 있는 경계선을 넘어설 수 있지만, 50평생을 자기 위주로 산 것이 많았다면 섭섭하겠지만 선한 본향의 세계에 가는 것이 아니라 악의 본향, 지옥으로 갑니다. 과거에 자기를 위하여 산 것이 많았거들랑 그 생활을 청산하고 그것을 부정하고, 나라를 위하고 세계를 위하고 하늘땅을 위하고 하나님을 위해 사는 여생을 남기기 위해서 노력해야 됩니다. 그런다면 여기서부터 지옥이 아니라 천상의 이상세계로 향진할 것입니다.

21 성경 말씀에 ‘천국은 너의 마음에 있다.’라고 했습니다. 천국은 하나님의 사랑과 일치된 것인데, 그 사랑이 네 마음에 있어야 된다는 말입니다. ‘네가 내 안에 있고 내가 네 안에 있다.’라는 말도 추상적인 말이 아닙니다. 사랑을 중심삼고는 다 가능한 말입니다. 타락한 인간은 내 몸과 마음에 하나님의 사랑이 현현할 수 있는 그날을 찾아가는 것입니다. 그러면 폭발적인 하나님의 사랑이 현현합니다. 이미 수천년간 틀어져 나갔던 몸이 완전히 하나될 수 있습니다. 이날은 사탄세계에서는 공포와 혁명의 한 날이요, 하늘세계에서는 환희와 승리의 한 날입니다. 그 자리에 서 보면 하나님의 사랑이 어떻다는 것을 압니다. 얼마나 좋은지 세포가 떨립니다. 모든 뼈와 살이 한데 어울려 굳어지는 것을 느낍니다. 화석같이 되는 것입니다. 모든 오관이 완전히 하나되는 것을 느낍니다.

22 축복받은 가정은 나라를 위하여 몽땅 제물이 될 수 있어야 합니다. 천국이냐 지옥이냐가 여기서부터 갈라지는 것입니다. 성경을 잘 알고 말을 잘하는 것으로 천국과 지옥이 결정되는 것이 아닙니다. 실적과 심정이 문제 되는 것입니다. 결국 천국과 지옥의 경계선은 심정의 경계선, 실적의 경계선에 좌우됩니다.

23 양심을 해방해야 됩니다. 여러분의 마음은 천국의 초소요, 여러분의 몸은 지옥의 초소입니다. 여러분의 몸이 마음을 끌고 다닙니까, 마음이 몸을 끌고 다닙니까? 종교를 믿는 사람들은 마음이 몸을 끌고 다니고, 종교 안 믿는 사람은 백발백중 몸이 마음을 끌고 다닙니다. 자기를 중심삼고 삽니다. 그것이 다릅니다. 그렇기 때문에 지옥의 출발지도 나요, 천국의 출발지도 나입니다. 마음대로 하면 천국 가는 것이요, 몸대로 하면 지옥 가는 것입니다. 남을 위해서 살게 되면 천국 가고, 자기를 위해서 살게 되면 지옥 가는 것입니다.

24 영계에서는 결혼이 없습니다. 얼마나 심각한 문제인가 생각해 보십시오. 팔이 하나 없고 다리 하나 없는 것이 문제가 아닙니다. 그러니 불평해야 되겠습니까, 안 해야 되겠습니까? 불평할 수 없습니다. 기뻐해야 됩니다. 눈물을 흘리면서도 기뻐하며 가야 됩니다. 눈물을 흘리면서도 웃으며 가야 됩니다. 천국 가고 지옥 가는 것은 자신이 결정합니다. 선생님이 결정하는 것이 아니고, 하나님이 결정하는 것이 아니고, 자기가 결정하는 것입니다. 불평하면 지옥이요, 불평할 곳을 감사하면서 가면 천국이라는 것입니다.

25 영계는 어떠냐? 혼란한 인간상들이 영계에 가서 뭉쳐 있으니 영계도 혼란하지 않을 수 없습니다. 도둑질한 전과자는 언제나 도둑질해 먹게 마련입니다. 그러니 지구성에서 도둑질해 먹던 것들이 천상세계에 가서도 공짜를 바라는 것입니다. 그래서 처치 곤란하니 지옥이라는 것이 생겼습니다. 지옥은 하나님이 만든 것이 아니고 생겨난 것입니다. 쓰레기통을 만들어 놓고 집을 짓습니까? 집 짓고 살다 보니 쓰레기통이 생겼습니다. 마찬가지입니다.

26 자살하는 것은 죄 중의 죄입니다. 우주를 파탄시키기 위한 악독한 행동입니다. 그런 사람은 지옥 중의 지옥에 가야 됩니다. 이러한 사실을 알게 되면 자살할 수 없습니다. 나는 누구냐 하면 부모 생명의 연결체입니다. 나는 아버지와 어머니 두 생명이 하나로 결합된 것입니다. 같이 연결되어 있습니다. 그리고 나는 부모 사랑의 동참자입니다. 부모 사랑과 일체입니다. 사랑의 일치가 돼 있습니다.

27 지옥은 한번 걸려들면 영원히 벗어날 수 없는 곳입니다. 그런데도 여러분은 자기의 어머니 아버지, 그리고 친척이 지옥에 간다는 것을 실감하지 못합니다. 그저 ‘어떻게 되겠지.’ 하고 그만입니다. 그러나 사랑하는 부모가 진짜 지옥에 간다고 생각해 보십시오. 세상의 감옥에만 들어간다고 해도 울고불고하면서 별의별 짓을 다 해서라도 끌어내려고 하는 것이 인정인데, 하물며 천정으로 맺어진 아들딸이 자기 부모와 친척, 형제자매가 영원히 나올 수 없는 감옥에 간다는 것을 안다면 그렇게 하겠습니까? 여러분은 아직까지 아무것도 모릅니다. 지옥이 있는지 없는지, 있긴 있는 것 같은데 어떤 것인지 모르고 있습니다. 틀림없이 희미할 것입니다. 그러나 죽어 보면 알게 됩니다. 죽어 보면 대번에 알겠지만 그때는 이미 늦습니다.

28 재림의 한 날이 오면, 천국이 아닌 낙원과 지옥의 밑창에 새로운 이상권을 만들어 나가는 것입니다. 지옥의 밑창에서 가인 아벨을 찾아 새로운 하나님의 가정권을 형성하는 것입니다. 새로운 하나님의 종족권, 새로운 하나님의 민족권, 새로운 하나님의 국가권, 새로운 하나님의 세계권을 이루어 지상에 있는 사람들을 전부 탕감복귀해야 됩니다. 가인 아벨을 중심삼고 탕감복귀해 모든 것을 흡수·소화해서 통일된 세계를 거쳐 비로소 비어 있는 영계를 지상세계에서 편성하여 뒤집어 맞추지 않고는 하나님이 하늘나라를 중심삼은 소원의 뜻을 해원성사할 수 있는 길이 없습니다. 그래서 예수님도 ‘너희가 땅에서 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요, 땅에서 풀면 하늘에서도 풀린다.’라고 했습니다. 땅에서 천국을 이루지 못하고는 천상세계에 천국이 생기지 않습니다. 땅 위에 하늘나라의 주권을 세우지 않고는 영계에서 선한 주권을 회복할 수 없다는 엄청난 사연이 내재돼 있다는 것입니다.

29 자기를 생각하는 자리에서는 천국에 갈 수 있는 길이 생기지 않습니다. 자신이 천국과 거리가 멀다는 것을 발견하게 되면, 자기라는 것을 타파해 버려야 합니다. 자기를 타파하는 데서만이 천국, 혹은 간접적인 천국이라도 개방될 수 있는 길이 열립니다. 그러나 자기를 옹호하는 입장에서 상대적 환경을 자기에게 적응시키려 하는 사람, 자기 스스로를 주체적 입장에 놓고 상대 환경을 밀고 나가려는 사람이 있다면 그 사람은 천국과 관계를 못 맺습니다. 천국은 나로부터 이루어집니다. 아무리 상대적 천국이 완비되어 있다 하더라도, 그 천국이 부를 때에 화답할 수 있는 나 자신이 못 되어 있으면 그 천국과는 상관이 없습니다. 천국은 사탄을 극복한 자리입니다. 여러분 자체만을 극복한 자리가 아닙니다. 우리가 거주하는 사회환경, 타락한 세계권, 습관적인 환경권 혹은 상습화한 자리에는 천국이 임할 수 없습니다. 이 상습화한 환경을 사탄이 고질적으로 지배하고 있기 때문에, 사탄이 우거하고 있는 환경을 극복하고 나야만 천국이 오는 것입니다.

30 천국은 사탄세계의 내용과 상반된 자리에서 이루어집니다. 만일 그렇지 않다면 천국이 될 수 없습니다. 천국이라는 이름이 붙었더라도 그것은 환경을 농락하기 위한 속임수밖에 되지 않는다는 것입니다. 천국이라는 개념은 사탄을 극복한 자리에서, 사탄이 상대할 수 있는 일체의 요인을 부정한 자리에서, 부정할 뿐만 아니라 청산지은 자리에서 성립되는 것입니다. 사탄의 부정적 여건이 남아 있는 역사적인 유물이라든가 생활의 모든 내용을 부정하고 청산지은 터전에서 천국이 긍정될 수 있는 것이지, 그것을 남기고는 천국의 내용을 제시할 수 없는 것입니다.

31 통일교회 사람들은 어떤 사람이 되어야 할 것이냐? 내적 세계에도 들어갈 줄 알고, 외적 세계에도 나갈 줄 알고, 또 나갔다가 들어올 줄도 알고, 동서남북으로 다닐 수 있는 사람이 되는 것이 이상적입니다. 내적 세계가 주체가 되어 외적 세계를 지배할 수 있는 사람을 만들자는 것입니다. 외적인 세계는 악이 침범했기 때문에 그 세계로 가면 지옥 가고, 내적인 세계로 가면 선한 영계인 천국으로 가는데, 이 외적인 세계와 내적인 세계를 자유롭게 왕래할 수 있으면 지옥에도 갈 수 있고 천국에도 갈 수 있다는 말입니다. 그것을 알기 때문에 어디를 가더라도 환영할 수 있는 사람이 되어 보자는 것이 선생님의 주장입니다. 그것이 하나님의 주장입니다.

天聖経 (增) - 275. 天上天国と天上地獄

16　アダムとエバが堕落することによって、この地球星はサタンが支配するようになり、霊界には地獄が生じました。それでサタンが支配できる版図は、地上 地獄世界と天上地獄世界までです。そのため、それを解放しなければなりません。堕落がなかったなら地上地獄も生じず、一つの理想的天国にのみ行き着くはず だったのですが、堕落によって二つの世界に、サタンが支配できる世界形態が現れました。ですから、これを解消しなければなりません。

17　心と体が一つになれなければ、そこは悪魔の領土になります。地獄が別にあり、天国が別にあるのではありません。すべて「私」にあります。
 皆さん自身が愛を中心として体を感化させておくことができ、愛を中心として自分の生命を超えて自分の血統を否定できる運動を起こしてこそ、邪悪で淫乱な世 の中をきれいに清算することができます。そのような神様の道理を教えることによって、神様の家庭倫理、神様の氏族倫理、神様の民族倫理、神様の国家倫理、 神様の世界倫理が地上に展開するとき、地上天国となり、地上天国で生きた人が、そのまま入っていくところが天上天国です。

18 真の愛の本宮は生殖器です。真の愛は絶対的です。真の愛は、唯一不変なので絶対的です。ですから、歴代の先祖たちを見ても、この問題が乱れるようになれ ば、結局、家庭も崩壊し、社会も崩壊し、政治も崩壊します。ソドムとゴモラもそれが崩れたので、家庭が崩壊し、社会も崩壊し、国家も崩壊したのです。その 結果は崩壊するのです。地獄です。
ですから、天国と地獄が別々にあるのではありません。地獄のような環境で生きていくからといって地獄に行くのではありません。天国と地獄は、自分自身にか かっています。真の愛を乱す根拠地は、それ以外にはないのです。真の生命を汚し、真の血統を汚すところは、そこしかありません。他のいかなる行動でも、そ れを汚すことはできません。

19 地上天国は、どのようなところでしょうか。負債を負わないために努力し、お互いに負債を負わせようと努力をするところが地上に生じれば、そこが地上天国で す。天上天国は、どのようなところでしょうか。天国に行く人は負債を負った人がいません。先生の知っている天国は、そのような天国ではありません。世の中 で生きる間に、国の世話をして、人類の世話をして、神様のために生きようと努力した人が行くところが天国です。その国、人類、神様の世話になろうと思った 人は、天国ではなく地獄に行っています。世話をしようと努力する人の位置は、常に勝利する位置です。これは過去にも勝利し、今日も勝利し、未来にも勝利す るでしょう。そのように世話をして勝利した権限をもっていけるところが天国です。

20　皆さんが五十年の生涯を生きたとするとき、五十年の生涯で二十五年以上をこの宇宙のために、天倫、天理のために生きたなら、天国に行きます。そのよ うに生きたとすれば、良い霊界にとどまる境界線を越えることができますが、五十年の生涯で自分中心に生きたことが多かったとすれば、残念ですが、善の本郷 の世界に行くのではなく、悪の本郷である地獄に行きます。過去に自分を中心にして生きたことが多ければ、その生活を清算し、それを否定し、国のために、世 界のために、天地のために、神様のために生きる余生を残すために努力しなければなりません。そのようにすれば、ここから地獄ではなく、天上の理想世界に行 進するでしょう。

21　聖書のみ言で、「神の国は、実にあなたがたのただ中にある」(ルカ一七・二一)とあります。天国は神様の愛と一致したところなのですが、その愛があ なたの心になければならないということです。「あなたがたはわたしにおり、また、わたしがあなたがたにおることが、わかるであろう」（ヨハネ一四・二〇) という言葉も、抽象的な言葉ではありません。愛を中心とすれば、すべて可能な話です。
 堕落した人間は、自分の心と体に神様の愛が顕現できるその日を訪ね求めていくのです。そうすれば、爆発するような神様の愛が顕現します。既に数千年間仲た がいしてきた体が、完全に一つになることができます。この日は、サタン世界では恐怖と革命の一日であり、天の世界では歓喜と勝利の一日です。その位置に 立ってみれば、神様の愛がどのようなものなのかが分かります。どれほど良いことか、細胞が奮い立つようです。すべての骨と肉が一カ所に集まって固まるのを 感じます。化石のようになるのです。すべての五官が完全に一つになるのを感じます。

22　祝福を受けた家庭は、国のためにすべて祭物にならなければなりません。天国か地獄かは、ここから分かれるのです。聖書をよく知って話を上手にするこ とで天国と地獄が決まるのではありません。実績と心情が問題になるのです。結局、天国と地獄の境界線は、心情の境界線、実績の境界線で左右されます。

23　良心を解放しなければなりません。皆さんの心は天国の監視所であり、皆さんの体は地獄の監視所です。皆さんの体が心を引っ張り回しますか、心が体を 引っ張り回しますか。宗教を信じる人々は心が体を引っ張り回しやすく、宗教を信じない人は、体が心を引っ張り回しやすいのです。自分を中心として生活する のです。それが違うのです。ですから、地獄の出発地が「私」であり、天国の出発地も「私」です。心の願うとおりにすれば天国に行くのであり、体の願うとお りにすれば地獄に行くのです。人のために生きれば天国に行くのであり、自分のために生きれば地獄に行くのです。

24　霊界では結婚がありません。どれほど深刻な問題か考えてみてください。腕が一本なく、足が一本ないことが問題ではありません。ですから、不平を言わ なければなりませんか、言ってはいけませんか。不平を言えません。喜ばなければなりません。涙を流しながらも、喜んで行かなければなりません。涙を流しな がらも、笑顔で行かなければなりません。天国に行くか、地獄に行くかは、自分が決めます。先生が決めるのではなく、神様が決めるのではなく、自分が決める のです。不平を言えぱ地獄であり、不平を言うところで感謝しながら行けば、天国だというのです。

25　霊界はどうなのでしょうか。混乱した人間たちが霊界に行って固まっているので、霊界も混乱せざるを得ません。盗みを働いた前科者は、常に盗みを働い て食べるようになっています。ですから、地球星で盗みを働いて食べた者たちは、天上世界に行っても、ただで得ることを願うのです。それで、処置に困って地 獄というものが生まれました。地獄は神様がつくられたのではなく、生まれたのです。ごみ箱を作っておいてから、家を建てますか。家を造って暮らしてみた ら、ごみ箱が生まれたのです。それと同じことです。

26　自殺することは罪の中の罪です。宇宙を破綻させるための邪悪な行動です。そのような人は、地獄の中の地獄に行かなければなりません。このような事実 を知るようになれば、自殺することができません。「私」は誰かというと、父母の生命の連結体です。「私」は、父と母の二つの生命が一つに結合されたもので す。共に連結されています。そして、「私」は、父母の愛の同参者です。父母の愛と一体であり、愛の一致が成されているのです。

27　地獄というところは、一度はまれば脱け出すのが難しいところです。それでも、皆さんは、自分の父、母、そして親戚が地獄に行くことを実感できませ ん。ただ「どうにかなるだろう」と思って、それで終わりです。しかし、愛する父母が本当に地獄に行くと考えてみてください。この世の監獄に入るだけでも、 泣いたりわめいたりしながら、ありとあらゆることをして引っ張り出そうとするのが人情であるならば、まして天情によって結ばれた息子、娘が、自らの父母と 親戚、兄弟・姉妹が永遠に出てこれない監獄に行くことを知れば、そのようなことを考えるでしょうか。皆さんは、まだ何も知りません。地獄があるのか、ない のか、あると思っていてもどのようなものかを知らずにいます。確信がなく、ぼんやりとしているでしょう。しかし、死んでみれば分かるのです。死んでみれば 一度に分かりますが、その時ではもう遅いのです。

28 再臨の一日が来れば、天国でない楽園と地獄のどん底に、新しい理想圏をつくっていくのです。地獄のどん底でカインとアベルを探して、新しい神様の家庭圏を 形成するのです。新しい神様の氏族圏、新しい神様の民族圏、新しい神様の国家圏、新しい神様の世界圏を形成して、地上にいる人たちをすべて蕩減復帰しなけ ればなりません。
カイン・アベルの問題を蕩減復帰して、すべてを吸収、消化し、統一した世界を地上で編成しなければ、天国を築こうとする神様の希望を解怨成就する道はあり ません。それでイエス様も、「あなたが地上でつなぐことは、天でもつながれ、あなたが地上で解くことは天でも解かれるであろう」(マタイ一六・一九)と言 いました。地で天国を築かなければ、天上世界に天国が生じません。地上に天国の主権を立てなければ、霊界で善の主権を回復することができないという、とて つもない事情が内在しているのです。

29 自分を考える立場では、天国に行ける道は生じません。自分が天国と距離が遠いことを発見するようになれば、自分というものを打破してしまわなければなりま せん。自分を打破するところでのみ、天国、あるいは間接的な天国が開放される道が開かれます。
しかし、自分を擁護する立場で、相手を自分に適用させようとする人、自分自らを主体的立場に置いて相手を引っ張っていこうとする人は、天国とは関係を結べ ません。天国は自分から成し遂げられます。いくら相対的天国が完備されたとしても、その天国が呼び求めるときに、それに応えることができる自分自身になっ ていなければ、その天国とは関係がなくなります。
 天国は、サタンを克服したところです。皆さん自身だけを克服したところではありません。堕落した世界圏、習慣的な環境圏、あるいは常習化したところには、 天国は臨むことができません。この常習化された環境を、サタンが凝り固まって支配し、サタンがここに寓居しているので、このサタンの環境を克服してこそ、 天国が訪れるのです。

30　天国は、サタン世界の内容と相反するところで完成されます。もし、そのようになっていなければ天国に成りません。天国という名前がついていても、そ れは環境をたぶらかすためのトリックにすぎません。天国という概念は、サタンを屈服した場所で、サタンが相対できる一切の要因を否定した場所で、否定する だけでなく清算した場所で成立するのです。サタンの否定的条件が残っている歴史的な遺物や、生活のすべての内容を否定して清算した基盤において、天国が肯 定されるのであって、それを残していては天国の内容を提示することはできないのです。

31　統一教会の人たちは、どのような人になるべきでしょうか。内的世界にも入ることができ、外的世界にも出ていくことができ、また、出てから入ってくる こともでき、東西南北を自由自在に訪ねていける人になるのが理想的です。内的世界が主体になって、外的世界を主管する人をつくろうというのです。
 外的世界は、悪が侵犯したために、その世界に行けば地獄に行き、内的な世界に行けば、善の霊界である天国に行くのです。本来、この外的世界と内的世界を自 由に往来できれば、どこにでも訪ねて行くことができ、天国にも行くことができるということなのです。それを知っているがゆえに、「どこに行っても歓迎され る人になってみよう」というのが先生の主張です。それが神様の主張です。

16 Through the Fall of Adam and Eve, this planet Earth came to be under the rule of Satan and hell was created in the spirit world. Therefore, the territory in which Satan can rule extends to the realm of hell on earth and the realm of hell in the spirit world. This is why they need to be liberated. If there had been no Fall, hell on earth and hell in the spirit world would never have existed and only the ideal kingdom of heaven would have been established on earth and in the spirit world as a single, continuous reality. However, because of the Fall, two worlds that could be ruled by Satan came into being. Satan’s dominion over these worlds therefore needs to be nullified. (168-303, 1987.10.01)

17 If the body and mind are not united, that realm of disunity becomes Satan’s territory. Neither hell nor heaven exists separately from you. They are both within you. Only when, centered on love, you can work to discipline your body, transcend your own life and love and serve others beyond your individual lineage, can you bring a complete end to this evil, profane world. Through such heavenly teachings, when God’s ethics are established in the family, the tribe, the people, the nation and the world, this will become the kingdom of heaven on earth. The people who live in the kingdom of heaven on earth will transition, just as they are, to the kingdom of heaven in the spirit world. (196-328, 1990.01.12)

18 The original palace of true love is the reproductive organs. True love is absolute. Because true love is unique and unchanging, it is absolute. That is why, when we study past generations, we can see that when love is in disorder it leads to the breakdown of the family, the society and the nation. In the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, the family, the society and the nation broke down because the order of love was destroyed. The result is nothing but destruction. It is hell. Consequently, heaven and hell do not exist separately. That is why, even if you live in a hellish environment, it does not mean you will go to hell. Whether you go to heaven or hell depends on you. The basis for the corruption of true love is you and only you. The only place where true life and true lineage can be violated is the reproductive organs. By no means should they be defiled. 19 What kind of place is the kingdom of heaven on earth? If there is a place on earth where people do their best not to become indebted but instead try hard to help each other rid themselves of debt, that place is the kingdom of heaven on earth. Then what kind of place is the kingdom of heaven in the spirit world? The kingdom of heaven is not a place for people with debts. The kingdom of heaven I know does not have people like that. Those who, during their life on earth, worked to get rid of their nation’s debts, humanity’s debts and all debts in front of God are the ones who can go to the kingdom of heaven. On the other hand, those who become indebted to their nation, to others and to God end up not in heaven but in hell. The position of a person who has striven to get rid of debts is always a victorious one. Such a person was victorious in the past, is victorious today and will be victorious in the future. The kingdom of heaven is a place you can go with the authority of having triumphed in getting rid of debts. (085-133, 1976.03.02)

20 If you are fifty years old, and you have lived more than twenty-five of those years for the sake of the universe in accordance with heavenly principle and heavenly law, then you will go to the kingdom of heaven. If you have lived in such a manner you can traverse the boundaries to dwell in the good spirit world. But if you have lived your life of fifty years putting yourself first more often than not, you should realize, even though it may be disappointing, you will go not to the original homeland of goodness but to the homeland of evil, that is, hell. If you have lived for yourself more often than not in the past, you should end that life and disavow it, endeavoring to make the rest of your life one in which you live for the nation, the world, heaven, earth and God. If you do this, from this point on you will go toward the ideal world of heaven. (78-119, 1975.05.06)

21 It is written in the Bible that “the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21) This means the kingdom of heaven is the place that is in oneness with God’s love, and that love should be in your heart. The words, “You are in me and I am in you,” are also not an abstraction. (John 17:21) These words are possible when they are rooted in love. Fallen human beings are finding their way toward that day in which God’s love can be manifested through their body and mind. The explosive love of God will shine forth. And the body, which has been twisted out of shape over thousands of years, will be able to become one with God. That day is a day of fear and revolution in Satan’s world and a day of ecstasy and victory in Heaven’s world. When you stand in that position, you will know God’s love. It will be so wonderful that your cells will tingle. You will feel all your bones and flesh harmonize and bond together. You will feel as though all your five senses have become one. 22 Blessed families should all be able to become sacrificial offerings for the nation. This is the starting point to determine whether you will go to heaven or hell. Going to heaven or hell is not determined by how well you know the Bible or how well you can speak. What matters are your actual results for God and your heart. In the end, the boundary between heaven and hell is a boundary of heart and a boundary of actual results. (32-231, 1970.07.19)

23 You should liberate your conscience. Your mind is the checkpoint of heaven and your body is the checkpoint of hell. Does your body drag your mind around or does your mind have true dominion over your body? For those who follow religion, their minds give clear direction to their bodies and for those who do not follow religion—in ten cases out of ten—their bodies drag their minds around. The latter live consumed by themselves. That is the difference. Each of you is the starting point of hell, therefore, and also the starting point of heaven. If you live according to your mind you will go to heaven and if you live according to your body you will go to hell. If you live for the sake of others you will go to heaven and if you insist on living for your own sake you will go to hell. (252-257, 1994.01.01)

24 There is no marriage in the spirit world. Think for a moment about how serious a problem that is. By comparison, missing an arm or a leg is really not a problem. That being the case, should you complain or not? You cannot complain. You should rejoice. Even while shedding tears, you should go forward, rejoicing and happy. You yourself determine whether you go to heaven or hell. That decision does not lie with me and it does not lie with God; you are the one who decides that. When you habitually complain, you end up in hell; yet when you go forward with gratitude for situations you could easily be complaining about, you end up in heaven. (96-122, 1978.01.02)

25 What about the spirit world? Since confused people go to the spirit world and gather there, that realm is certainly chaotic. People who develop the habit of stealing will always end up stealing something. Thus people who stole on earth will naturally want to get something for nothing in the spirit world. Because it was difficult to handle such people in the spirit world, hell originated. God did not make hell; it came into being through people. Do people first prepare a trashcan, and then start building their house? It is only after building and living in the house that one comes to need the trashcan. The existence of hell is similar to that. (148-028, 1986.10.04)

26 To commit suicide is the worst of sins. Because suicide is an atrocity that actually destroys parts of the universe, such a person should go to the lowest level of hell. Once you know this fact, you cannot commit suicide. You are the being who connects your parents’ lives. In other words, you are the union of the two lives of your father and mother. They are connected together in you. And you are also a participant in your parents’ love. You are one in body with your parents’ love. You are one in love. (107-036, 1980.01.20)

27 Hell is such a place that, once you are trapped there, you can never get out by yourself. You do not truly realize the fact that your mother, father and relatives are going to hell. You just say, “Things will work out somehow,” and that is it. But try to realize that your beloved parents really are going to hell. Human affection is such that, if you found out that your parents were going to prison on earth, you would cry your heart out and try to liberate them by doing anything and everything. How much more, then, would the sons and daughters who are connected to their kin through heavenly love try to do if they learned that their parents, relatives and brothers and sisters were going to a prison from which they would never be able to escape? You do not know anything yet. You do not know whether there is a hell or not, and even if you have an idea that hell exists you do not know what kind of place it is. It is undoubtedly a vague idea for you. However, you will know when you die. You will know all at once when you die, but then it will be too late. (34-267, 1970.09.13)

28 When the Lord of the Second Advent arrives, he will create a new ideal realm in paradise, which is not heaven, and at the bottom of hell. Cain and Abel will be restored in the bottommost pit of hell and the new realm of God’s family will be created. Through the realization of the new realm of God’s tribe—the new realm of God’s people, nation and world—everybody on earth has to be restored through indemnity. Cain and Abel need to be restored through indemnity. People have to absorb and digest everything and build a unified world, then organize the empty realms of the spirit world from the earthly world. Without a major upheaval in the spirit world there will be no way for God to release His sorrow and realize His cherished Will to build the heavenly kingdom. That is why Jesus said, “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matt. 18:18) The kingdom of heaven will not be established in the spirit world without first being established on earth. The astonishing reality is that without establishing the sovereignty of the heavenly nation on earth, the good sovereignty cannot be recovered in the spirit world. (143-030, 1986.03.15)

29 The path to the kingdom of heaven does not appear in the place where you are thinking only about yourself. When you realize that you are far away from Heaven, you need to smash that self to pieces. Only when you overthrow that self will a direct path to heaven, or even an indirect path, open up. However, those who promote themselves and try to make those in the object partner’s position adapt to them, or who place themselves in a subject partner’s position and try to push their way through the realm of the object partner’s position, will be unable to relate to the kingdom of heaven. The realization of the kingdom of heaven begins with each person. Even if the kingdom of heaven were completely built, if you have not become someone who can respond when the kingdom of heaven calls, you will have nothing to do with it The kingdom of heaven is a place where we have overcome Satan, not only overcome ourselves. The kingdom of heaven cannot exist in the social environment of the fallen world or in the place where we pursue our own fallen habits and customs. As Satan persistently controls our habits and environment, the kingdom of heaven can arrive only after we have overcome the circumstances wherein Satan has taken up residence. (46-075, 1971.07.25)

30 The kingdom of heaven is realized in the place that contradicts Satan’s world. Otherwise it could not be the kingdom of heaven. Even if a place in Satan’s world bore the name of heaven, it would be nothing but a deception to fool people. The concept of heaven can be established from the position of subjugating Satan, of denying and indeed eliminating everything to which he can relate. Heaven is affirmed on the basis of having denied and removed Satan’s negative historical legacy and all the contents of a satanic lifestyle. While these are still in place, we cannot introduce the contents of heaven. (46-075, 1971.07.25)

31 What kind of people should you Unification Church members become? Ideally they should become people who know how to enter the internal world, how to go out into the external world, how to come in after going out and how to be able to travel north, south, east and west. We are trying to create people who can establish the internal world as the subject and then take dominion over the external world. The external world was invaded by evil, so if you go to that world you are present in hell. But if you go to the internal world, you are present in the good spirit world, that is, the kingdom of heaven. If you can freely travel to and from the internal and external worlds you will have the freedom to go to hell as well as heaven. Since I know this fact, I am asserting that we should try to become people who will be welcomed wherever we go. That is also what God wants. (116-178, 1982.01.01)
