제 8급......恐失(공실)......잃을까 두려워함......第294事

  Level 8 : Gong-sil(恐失,공실)... The fear / carefulness of losing or failing... Item No. 294.

恐失(공실)은 착함을 잃을까 두려워함이다.

Gong-sil(恐失,공실) means  fearing that one might lose one′s goodness.

착함을 발견하여 알기를 보배와 같이 하고,

악함을 발견하여 알기를 도적과 같이하여 항상 보물을 도적에게 잃을까 두려워한다.

  It is to cherish discovering goodness as if finding a treasure,

  and to treat discovering evil as encountering a their―thus always fearing

  that the thief might steal the treasure.

보물을 품어 스스로를 보전하며 한마음으로 도적을 억눌러 조용하게 하여

보물이 있는 방에 가까이 가지 않게 하면 가히 그 福(복)을 받을 수 있게 된다.

 If one holds the treasure close to protect oneself,

 suppresses the thief with a single mind to keep things calm,

 and prevents the thief from drawing near the room where the treasure is kept,

 one becomes worthy of receiving blessings.

恐失者는 恐失善也라 (공실자는 공실선야라)

  Gong-sil(Fear of Losing) regers to the fear of losing goodness.

認善如寶하며 認惡如盜하고 (인선여보하며 인악여도하고)

  Recognize goodness as a precious treasure, and recognize  evil as a thief;

恒恐失寶於盜하여 抱寶自保하며 (항공실보어도하여 포보자보하며)

  always fear losing the treasure to the thief, and embrace the treasure to protect oneself.

一心鎭盜하여 不近寶室이니 (일심진도하여 불근보실이니)

  Suppress the thief with a single mind so that it doess not draw near the treasure room;

可領其福이니라. (가령기복이니라.)

  then one becomes worthy of receiving blessings.
