Summary:
Paul explains that he found it necessary to send Epaphroditus back to the Philippians, describing him as a brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, as well as their messenger and minister to Paul’s need. Epaphroditus had been longing for them and was distressed because they had heard that he was sick. Indeed, he became ill and came close to death, but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on Paul, so that Paul would not have sorrow upon sorrow. Therefore, Paul sends him all the more eagerly so that they may rejoice when they see him again and that he himself may be less anxious. He urges them to receive Epaphroditus in the Lord with all joy and to hold men like him in high regard, because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in their service to Paul.
Teaching:
Honor the workers of the church. It is not that they are to be honored in order to receive special treatment; rather, anyone who does not honor those who serve does not honor God. Especially honor the teachers who teach your children, and do not take young teachers lightly.
No matter how well education is done at home, it is difficult to replace the education of the church. There is teaching within the church that is absolutely essential. Therefore, honor the teachers.
