Summary:
Paul urges the believers to follow his example and to observe those who walk according to the pattern they have in him. He warns that many live as enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, with their minds set on earthly things. In contrast, he reminds them that their citizenship is in heaven, from which they eagerly await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform their lowly body into conformity with His glorious body by the power through which He is able to subject all things to Himself.
Teaching:
You should listen well and follow the example of whoever teaches the word about Jesus. Those who listen and follow such examples show a changed life. On the other hand, those who do not also show change—but they end up as children of the devil.
A true church is not one that loves outward religious appearance, but one that seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. The kingdom of God and His righteousness mean gaining people. Jesus emptied and humbled Himself in order to gain people.
Try to have a desire to gain people. Then the purpose of our work, and even the way we earn and use money, will become different.
