Commentary on John 14 (5)
Let’s look at John 14:10-11.
“Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelles in me, he does the work. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.”
This condition is the attribute of Jesus Christ.
The attributes of Jesus Christ are revealed outwardly because the Father works in Jesus Christ.
That is why Jesus Christ does not consider appearance important.
In the book of Isaiah, it is said that Jesus had no form or or majesty, but was like a tender plant (Isaiah 53:2).
That means he had never worked as a clerk in a local government office.
But who works in Jesus, who is called the son of a carpenter in Nazareth? God the Father works.
That is why a person's appearance is not important, but the spiritual device in which Christ works, the work of the Spirit of truth, is important.
Human speech and behavior patterns come from the thoughts and ways of thinking within them. (system of thinking)
Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and is filled with the divinity of God, so the system itself comes out only as the Word of God.
That is why we should not just accumulate knowledge of the Word of God and try to do everything well, but change the system within us.
If we change it to a spiritual system according to the truth, like the Apostle Paul, whenever we open our mouths, we are talking about Jesus Christ.
Pastor Choi Kwon-neung, whom we know well, said ‘Jesus Heaven’ whenever he opened his mouth.
It is said that the Japanese police got tired of him because he kept talking about Jesus Heaven all day long and ended up kicking him out of prison.
No matter what Japanese police asked, he said Jesus Heaven, even if Japanese police kicked him, he said Jesus Heaven, even if he fell down, he said Jesus Heaven, so if Japanese police just left him alone, it would be noisy and they wouldn’t be able to live, so let him go!..
In that person, there is only Jesus Heaven, so no matter which button you press, only Jesus Heaven comes out.
The system inside him was designed so that only Jesus Heaven would come out.
A Japanese policeman asked him a leading question, “Pastor Choi Kwon-neung, do you want to go home?”
If Pastor Choi had even a little bit of a carnal desire to go home, he would have said “yes,” but even then, his answer was “Jesus Heaven.”
That is why Pastor Choi Kwon-neung became someone the world could not handle.
Therefore, when looking at a person, do not look at whether they are tall or short, or whether their status is high or low, but look at their existence.
What kind of existence is inside that person? In the world, people have a say based on their possessions and functions, but God looks at our true existence.
People look at what they can do and their functions, but God looks at our existence.
He is looking at you right now.
Likewise, we should also be able to see people from that perspective.
The Korean church has a longing for the Pyongyang Revival Movement and cries out, “again 1907.” But without the confession of someone with essential spirituality like Pastor Gil Seon-ju, we will not be able to find the fuse.
Pastor Gil has been a person who has focused on becoming one with the energy of the origin of the universe for a long time and also received the gospel directly from an American missionary.
The American-made Holy Spirit movement, which now claims to be a movement of the Holy Spirit but only pursues phenomena that deviate from the essence, only has slogans such as “Receive the Holy Spirit and revive the church,” “Receive the Holy Spirit and heal the sick,” and “Receive the Holy Spirit and do missionary work to the nations.”
I have seen a pastor fall ill and rationalize the problem of why he can heal others but not himself.
It is because he only followed the phenomenon of the Holy Spirit’s manifestation.
For example, Peter was a person in the system who clearly understood the essence of why the Holy Spirit came, received Christ as the Lord, and could prayed to the Lord and Father God who sat on the throne in the name of the Lord.
However, those who heard Peter’s sermon and saw signs, wonders, and gifts appear began to imitate only the phenomena of the work of the Holy Spirit.
It is exactly like the current Holy Spirit movement.
Faith must begin with believing and confessing that Christ is the Lord and eternal life in us.
Only then can we know that being united with Christ is the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and that today is the day of the new covenant, the day of new life, in which God, who has spoken in many parts and in many ways in the past, speaks in us through His Son in these last days (Hebrews 1:1-2), and receive the guidance and teaching of the Spirit of truth that fills us with the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit.
A retired pastor who travels around preaching the word here and there once preached a sermon titled “Abide in Jesus Christ” and he preached, “Abide in Jesus.”
So I said, “It must be in Christ.”
I told him that it would be better to worry about your own salvation first, not worry about the church crisis.
“At that day you will know that I am in the Father, and you in me, and I in you” (John 14:20)
"that day" is hidden, so we only know the records and deeds of Jesus, his goodness, and the grace of redemption that have been historically imprinted on our consciousness.
At that day, that is, today, another Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, comes, and the Lord is in the Father, and the Father is in the Lord, so the same history that the Lord expressed the Father does not occur.
I have not heard about Pastor Choi Kwon-neung’s spiritual system of Jesus heaven and the essence of life, but I have only heard about his phenomenon that was consistent with Jesus heaven.
However, if we are in Christ and Christ is present in us with his anointing and permeates us, just as the Lord said, “He who has seen me has seen the Father,” we will also become the salt of the world and the light of the world, and just as the Lord reveals the glory of God the Father, we will also become disciples of Christ who become letters and fragrances of Christ, who become the joy of the Lord and the glory of God.
In these last days when the Spirit of truth has come, we must become such ministers.
