Spain and Portugal are facing a major power outage.
The outrage knocked out subway network, phone lines, traffic lights and ATM machines.
Authorities are still looking into what caused the blackout.
One Portuguese official said the problem appeared to be with Spain's electricity distribution network.
The Portuguse National Cybersecurity Center says there was no sign that was due to a cyber attack.
Hospitals and other emergency services in both conturies switched to generators and gas stations stopped working.
Spanish airports were operating on backup electrical systems and some flights were delayed.
