† "Holy Bible not only read it, meditate on it" †

As you know now a days, in our church I am visiting house to house praying for this New Year. In Korean language it’s called 대심방. Anyway I saw Holy Bible in different homes. Friends, to have the Holy Bible in homes and reading it. It is not enough. We’ve read it and MEDITATE on it & live according it.

Friends, if we want to have prosperous and successful life. Not only read it & Meditate on it.

Joshua 1 : 8

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day & night, so

that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous & successful.

After the death of Moses Israelites were murmuring, God is with Joshua or not. God gave command to Joshua. Meditate the Word of God day & night. God never said, If you’ve time read, if don’t have time don’t.

Here we can see the secret of prosperity and success. Meditate day & night & live according to it.

Friends, do you want to have prosperous and successful life. Not only read it Meditate on it.

1. God’s thoughts.

Friends, always we have to remember that God is our creator and we are His creation. We’re because of Him. He’s not because of us. His thoughts & ways & our thoughts and our deeds are totally different. When we read and meditate the Word of God. We can understand or know the thoughts & ways of God.

Isaiah 55 : 8 ~ 9

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens

are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Friends, God is God of all universe. He is All in all. What He said, it must be done. He’s Alpha & Omega.

Isaiah 55 : 11 ~~ so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

2. illuminate or enlighten the way.

Friends, Devil always make ways our dark & filthy. But when we read the Word of God & meditate on it or in others words. When we read & live according to it. We obey God’s Words. We enlighten our ways.

Psalms 119 : 104 ~ 105 ~~ I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.

- Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

Devil always try to distract us. Always make our way dark. Sometime financial darkness, sometime physical, sometime relatives, siblings, parents, children, job. Friends, to have light. ~~~~ Meditate the Word of God.

3. Food for Spirits.

Friends, for our physical health we use to eat 3 times day, sometime we eat extra food. Some people declare that music is the food for our soul. I don’t know about that. But one thing I know that Word of God is food for our spirits. If we will not read. Spiritual relationship with God will surely disconnect.

Jeremiah 15 : 16 ~~ When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and

my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty.

Friends, let’s not read once in a week but read daily. Not only read Meditate it & live according to it.

1st. Peter 2 : 2

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

4. Prune or correct us. (Corrections and instructions)

Friends, 4thbenefit of Meditation is Word of God prune or correct us. Consciously or un-consciously, we made lots of wrong things or sins in our lives. Holy Bible teach or the Word of God prune or correct us.Friends, reading like a parrot is not enough. Read, Mediate & live according to it, to be blessed. ~ Amen

2nd Timothy 3 : 16 ~ 17

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in

righteousness, - so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Friends, being a human being, we do not know, how to live, how to handle but God teach us, correct us.

John 15 : 1 ~ 3 -- “I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. - He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. - You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

If God prune or correct, instead of complain give thanks. Job gave thanks & received double blessings.

5. Faith comes alive.

5th.advantage of meditation is our faith become alive. There are many who call themselves Christian but they are far from Christ. They heard about Christ but don’t understand Christ. Let’s meditate & make our faith alive. We can make faith alive by listening the sermons, by reading & meditating. By singing hymns. etc

Romans 10 : 17 ~~ So then faith come by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

When our faith is alive, we will see miracles in our lives, in our family and in circle of our friends.

Acts 3 : 6 (When crippled heard the name of Jesus. When he heard the gospel. He was healed)

Matthew 9 : 22 (Woman, she was bleeding long 12 years. Her faith was alive & she was healed)

Mark 10 : 52 (Blind man received sight cause his was alive. Listen, read, meditate. Make your faith alive)

Luke 19 : 9 (Zacchaeus, money lover turn into money giver. He received salvation cause his faith was alive)

Hebrew 11 : 6 (If faith is alive, we can please God cause without faith it is impossible to please God)

Not only listen read it. Not only read it, understand it. Meditate it. Keep your faith alive & see miracles.

6. Armors of God.

Dear friends, last but not least advantage of meditation is we can equip ourselves to defeat the Devil. Devil our enemy is always walking here & there to devour & destroy our faith & snatch the blessing of God.

1st. Peter 5 : 8

Be alert & of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Hebrews 4 : 12

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates

even to dividing soul & spirit, joints & marrow; it judges the thoughts & attitudes of the heart.

Friends, Paul taught us that we’ve to put on all armors of God to defeat Devil & have fellowship of God.

Ephesians 6 : 13

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you

may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

⓵ Belt of truth. ⓶ Breastplate. ⓷ Shoes. ⓸ Shield of faith. ⓹ Helmet of salvation. ⓺ Sword of Spirit

Dear friends, let me explain you the meaning of spiritual A R M S.

A. Accept His words as a final authority.

John 6 : 68 ~ Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

R. Read it & use it.

Matthew 4 : 10 (Jesus used the Word of God)

Jesus said to him, “Away from Me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, & serve Him only.”

M. Meditate it.

S. Sit under it.

Sit under it means, we have to live our lives according to the Word of God. Not according to our will.

Psalms 91 : 2 ~~ I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalms 34 : 8 ~~ Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.

Conclusion :-

We don’t have read it only but we’ve to believe, this is the true Word of God. Read & understand. Meditate it day & night. God never said when you’ve time “ Read, If you are busy no need to read.”

성경을 읽을 뿐 아니라 묵상하라

아시는 대로 요즘에 우리 교회에서 신년 기도를 위해 집집마다 방문하고 있습니다. 한국어로 대심방이라고 합니다. 언제나 각 가정에서 성경을 보았습니다. 가정에 성경을 가지고 있고 그것을 읽습니다. 이것으로 충분하지 않습니다. 읽고 묵상하고 그대로 살아야 합니다.

평탄하고 형통한 삶을 살고자 한다면 성경을 읽을 뿐 아니라 묵상하십시오.

여호수아 1 : 8 - 이 율법책을 네 입에서 떠나지 말게 하며 주야로 그것을 묵상하여 그 가운데

기록한대로 다 지켜 행하라 그리하면 네 길이 평탄하게 될 것이라 네가 형통하리라.

모세가 죽은 후에 하나님께서 여호수아와 함께 하시는지 그렇지 않은지 이스라엘 백성들은 투덜댔습니다. 하나님께서 말씀을 주야로 묵상하라고 여호수아에게 명령하셨습니다. 시간이 있으면 읽고 없으면 읽지 말라고 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 여기에서 평탄함과 형통함의 비밀을 알 수 있습니다. 말씀을 주야로 묵상하고 그대로 사십시오. 평탄하고 형통한 삶을 누리고자 한다면 읽을 뿐 아니라 묵상하십시오.

1. 하나님의 생각.

하나님은 우리의 창조주이시고 우리는 그분의 피조물임을 항상 기억해야 합니다. 우리가 그분 때문에 존재하는 것이지 그분이 우리 때문에 존재하는 것이 아닙니다. 그분의 생각과 길은 우리의 생각과 행위와는 전적으로 다릅니다. 우리가 하나님 말씀을 읽고 묵상할 때 하나님의 생각과 방법을 이해하고 알 수 있습니다.

이사야 55 : 8 ~ 9 -- 여호와의 말씀에 내 생각은 너희 생각과 다르며 내 길은 너희 길과 달라서

하늘이 땅보다 높음같이 내 길은 너희 길보다 높으며 내 생각은 너희 생각보다 높으니라.

하나님은 온 우주의 하나님이십니다. 그분은 모든 것입니다.

그분이 말씀하신 것은 이루어집니다. 그분은 알파요 오메가이십니다.

이사야 55 : 11

내 입에서 나가는 말도 헛되이 내게로 돌아오지 아니하고 나의 뜻을 이루며 나의 명하여 보낸 일에 형통하리라.

2. 길을 비춰주고 분명하게.

마귀는 언제나 우리의 길을 어둡고 더럽게 하지만 우리가 하나님 말씀을 읽고 묵상하면 다시 말해서 하나님 말씀을 읽고 그대로 살고 순종하면 우리의 길이 분명해집니다.

시편 119 : 104 ~ 105 -- 주의 법도로 인하여 내가 명철케 되었으므로 모든 거짓 행위를

미워하나이다 주의 말씀은 내 발에 등이요 내 길에 빛이니이다.

마귀는 언제나 우리를 미혹시키려 하고 우리의 길을 어둡게 합니다. 때로는 재정적 어두움, 때로는 신체적으로, 친척, 형제, 부모, 자녀의 어두움입니다. 빛을 얻으려면 하나님 말씀을 묵상하십시오.

3. 영의 양식.

신체적 건강을 위해 우리는 하루에 세 번 식사하고 때로는 간식을 먹습니다. 어떤 사람들은 음악이 영혼의 양식이라고 합니다. 저는 잘 모르겠지만 제가 아는 것은 하나님 말씀이 우리 영의 양식이라는 것입니다. 읽지 않으면 하나님과의 영적인 관계가 틀림없이 끊어질 것입니다.

예레미야 15 : 16 -- 만군의 하나님 여호와시여 나는 주의 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 자라 내가

주의 말씀을 얻어 먹었사오니 주의 말씀은 내게 기쁨과 내 마음의 즐거움이오나.

일주일에 한번이 아니라 매일 읽읍시다. 읽을 뿐 아니라 묵상하고 그대로 사십시오.

베드로전서 2 : 2

갓난 아이들같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 이로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라.

4. 가지치기하고 바로잡아 줍니다 (교정과 지시)

묵상의 네 번째 이익은 하나님 말씀이 가지치기 하고 바로잡아 주는 것입니다. 의식적으로나 무의식적으로 우리는 살면서 잘못된 일이나 죄를 많이 짓습니다. 성경은 가르치고 가지치기하고 바로잡아 줍니다. 앵무새처럼 읽는 것은 충분치 않습니다. 축복 받으려면 읽고 묵상하고 그에 따라 사십시오. 아멘.

디모데후서 3 : 16 ~ 17 -- 모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니 이는 하나님의 사람으로 온전케 하며 모든 선한 일을 행하기에 온전케 하려 함이니라.

사람인 우리는 어떻게 살아야 할지 어떻게 처리해야 할지 모르지만 하나님께서 가르치시고 바로잡아 주십니다.

요한복음 15 : 1 ~ 3 -- 내가 참포도나무요 내 아버지는 그 농부라 무릇 내게 있어 과실을 맺지 아니하는 가지는 아버지께서 이를 제해 버리시고 무릇 과실을 맺는 가지는 더 과실을 맺게 하려하여 이를 깨끗케 하시느니라 너희는 내가 일러 준 말로 이미 깨끗하였으니.

하나님께서 가지치기하고 바로잡아 주시면 불평대신 감사하십시오. 욥은 감사하여 두 배의 축복을 받았습니다.

5. 믿음이 살아납니다.

묵상의 다섯 번째 이익은 믿음이 살아나는 것입니다. 자신을 크리스천이라고 하지만 그리스도와 거리가 먼 사람이 많습니다. 그들은 그리스도에 대해 들었지만 그리스도를 이해하지 못합니다. 묵상하여 우리의 믿음이 살아나게 합시다. 설교를 듣고 읽고 묵상하고 찬송을 부름으로써 믿음이 살아나게 할 수 있습니다.

로마서 10 : 17 ~~~ 그러므로 믿음은 들음에서 나며 들음은 그리스도의 말씀으로 말미암았느니라.

우리의 믿음이 살아날 때 우리 삶에서 가정에서 친구 사이에서 기적을 보게 될 것입니다.

사도행전 3 : 6 (앉은뱅이가 예수의 이름을 들었을 때, 복음을 들었을 때 그는 치유받았습니다)

마태복음 9 : 22 (12년 동안 혈루병을 앓던 여인이 믿음이 살아나고 치유받았습니다)

마가복음 10 : 52 (맹인이 믿음이 살아남으로써 보게 되었습니다, 듣고 읽고 묵상하십시오. 믿음이 살아나게 하십시오.

누가복음 19 : 9 (돈을 사랑하던 삭개오가 돈을 주는 사람이 되었습니다. 그는 믿음이 살아남 으로 구원 받았습니다)

히브리서 11 : 6 (믿음이 있으면 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 있습니다. 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없습니다)

말씀을 듣고 읽을 뿐 아니라, 읽고 이해할 뿐 아니라 묵상하십시오. 믿음을 지켜 기적을 보십시오.

6. 하나님의 갑옷.

마지막이지만 작지 않은 묵상의 이익은 마귀를 이길 수 있도록 갖추게 합니다. 우리의 대적인 마귀는 항상 우리의 믿음을 삼키고 파괴하고 하나님을 축복을 가로채려고 여기저기 다닙니다.

베드로전서 5 : 8 ~ 근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니

히브리서 4 : 12

하나님의 말씀은 살았고 운동력이 있어 좌우에 날선 어떤 검보다도 예리하여 혼과

영과 및 관절과 골수를 찔러 쪼개기까지하며 또 마음의 생각과 뜻을 감찰하나니.

바울은 마귀를 이기고 하나님과 교제하려면 하나님의 갑옷을 입어야 한다고 가르쳤습니다.

에베소서 6 : 13

그러므로 하나님의 전신갑주를 취하라 이는 악한 날에 너희가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함이라.

⓵ 진리의 허리띠 ⓶ 흉배 ⓷신 ⓸ 믿음의 방패 ⓹ 구원의 투구 ⓺ 성령의 검

영적인 무기(ARMS)의 의미를 말씀드리겠습니다.

A. Accept His words as a final authority 최후의 권위로 말씀을 받아들이라

요한복음 6 : 68 ~ 시몬 베드로가 대답하되 주여 영생의 말씀이 계시매 우리가 뉘게로 가오리이까.

R. Read it & use it 읽고 사용하라

마태복음 4 : 10 (예수님은 하나님의 말씀을 사용하셨습니다.)

이에 예수께서 말씀하시되 사단아 물러가라 기록하였으되 주 너의 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라

M. Meditate it 묵상하라

여호수아 1 : 8 ~~ 이 율법책을 네 입에서 떠나지 말게 하며 주야로 그것을 묵상하여 그

가운데 기록한대로 다 지켜 행하라 그리하면 네 길이 평탄하게 될 것이라 네가 형통하리라

S. Sit under it 말씀위에 앉으라

말씀 위에 앉으라는 것은 우리 뜻대로가 아니라 하나님 말씀에 따라 살아야 함을 의미합니다.

시편 91 : 2

내가 여호와를 가리켜 말하기를 저는 나의 피난처요 나의 요새요 나의 의뢰하는 하나님이라 하리니

시편 34 : 8 ~~ 너희는 여호와의 선하심을 맛보아 알지어다 그에게 피하는 자는 복이 있도다.

결론 :-

우리는 말씀을 읽을 뿐 아니라 믿어야 합니다. 하나님 말씀은 진리입니다. 읽고 이해하십시오. 주야로 묵상하십시오.

하나님은 시간이 있으면 읽고 바쁘면 읽을 필요 없다고 말씀하지 않으셨습니다.

마태복음 6 : 6 ~~ 너는 기도할 때에 네 골방에 들어가 문을 닫고 은밀한 중에

계신 네 아버지께 기도하라 은밀한 중에 보시는 네 아버지께서 갚으시리라.
