전도서8:1-8 그만큼밖에 되지 않는 인간

전8:1

공주야!

삶에 질서가 있고 이치가 있다. 하지만 늘 일정하지 않다. 그래서 그것을

안다고 하는 순간 곧바로 모르는 것이 나타난다. 더욱 종잡을 수 없는

질서는 인간이 만든 질서다. 제 뜻대로 하려는 권력자의 비위를 어떻게

맞출 수 있는가? 이 세상에서 진정정한 지혜는 무엇인가?

It's a princess!
There is order and reason in life. But it's not always consistent. So as

soon as you say you know it, what you don't know appears. A more

elusive order is a man-made order. How can I please those in power

who are trying to get their way? What is true wisdom in this world?

사물의 이치를 아는 지혜자의 얼굴에는 광채가 난다. 성공과 실패, 눈물과

웃음, 의인과 악인이 뒤섞인 세상에서 한계와 가능성을 모두 안고 사는

인간의 본질을 알고, 너무 낙관하지도 너무 비판하지도 않고, 그래서 너무

조급해하지도 않고 너무 안주하지도 않는 조화와 균형의 삶이 가져다준

얼굴이다.

The face of a wise man who knows the reason of things shines. It is the

face of a harmonious and balanced life that knows the essence of a

human being who lives with limitations and possibilities in a world of

success and failure, tears and laughter, righteousness and evil, and is

neither too optimistic nor too critical.

우리는 다 이해할 수 없는 이 모든 이치의 주인이신 하나님을 모시고 있는

백성들이다. 올 한 해 끝에는 주께서 주신 광채로 빛나는 우리의 얼굴이

내가 하나님의 자녀인 것을 증거 하기를 바란다.왕이 늘 지혜로운 것도

아니고 정의로운 것도 아니다.

We are the people who have God, the master of all these incomprehensible

principles. At the end of the year, I hope that our faces shining with the

shine of the Lord will prove that I am the child of God.The king is not

always wise or just.

그래서 지혜로운 사람도 말이 곧 법인 절대 권력자 앞에서는 진퇴양난의

어려움에 빠지기도 한다. 지혜롭기에 왕의 말이 옳고 그름을 더 잘 알 것

이고, 그래서 더 괴로울 것이다. 하지만 그런 때라도 하나님께서 허락하신

권력이니 권위를 존중하고, 맡겨진 일을 주어진 상황에서 해내는 것이

참 지혜다.

Therefore, even wise people sometimes face difficulties in front of the

absolute power of the corporation. He will know better what the king

says, because he is wise, and he will suffer more. However, even at

such a time, it is a power God has allowed, so it is wise to respect

authority and do the entrusted work in a given situation.

때로는 옳은 것을 옳다고 말하고 틀 린 것을 거절하는 일 자체보다 언제,

어떻게 그것을 할 것인가가 더 중요하다. 순수한 용기가 늘 지혜는 아니며,

신중한 기다림과 인내가 항상 비겁함도 아니다. 아무리 때와 방법을 분별

할 만큼 지혜로워도 사람은 반드시 한 번은 죽는다 것 외에는 아무것도

판단할 수 없는 일들도 있다.

Sometimes it is more important when and how to do it than to say what

is right and refuse what is wrong. Pure courage is not always wisdom,

and careful waiting and patience are not always cowardice. No matter

how wise you are to distinguish between time and method, there are

things that cannot be judged except that a person must die once.

인간은 그만큼밖에 되지 않는다. 자기 생명을 원하는 만큼 연장할 수도 없고,

죽는 것도 맘대로 할 수 없고 전쟁에서 안전을 장담할 수도 없다. 악의 위력은

여전히 압도적이다. 그것이 ‘해 아래’지혜의 한계다. 이런 인간이 양심을 견지

하면서 부패한 세상과 그 권력 구조 아래서 ‘가이사의 것은 가이사에게,

하나님의 것은 하나님에게 바치라’는 말씀을 실천하는 것은 쉽지 않다.

Human beings are only that much. You can't extend your life as much as

you want, you can't die at will, and you can't guarantee safety in war.

The power of evil is still overwhelming. That is the limit of 'under the sun'

wisdom. It is not easy for such a human being to practice the word,

"Gaisa's is dedicated to Gaisa and God's is dedicated to God," under the

corrupt world and its power structure while maintaining his conscience.

어떤 이념이나 정당이나 학파나 지도자도 우리가 바라는 참 자유를 주지 못한다.

권력은 우리의 자유를 제한하는 대가로 유지되기 때문이다. 그러니 차별하고

배제하고 낙인을 찍는 선택은 가장 쉽지만, 가장 근시안적이고 어리석은 결정이다.

지도자의 한계를 나는 만큼 내 선택의 한계를 아는 겸손함이 필요하다.

No ideology, no political party, no school or leader gives us the real freedom we want.
Because power is maintained in exchange for restricting our freedom. So the choice

of discrimination, exclusion and branding is the easiest, but the most shortsighted and

foolish decision. I need humility to know the limits of my choice as much as I fly the

limits of my leader.

누가 진정으로 지혜자인가?

아는 자인가, 모르는 자인가? 모르는 것을 아는 자인가?

Who is truly a wise man?
Do you know or don't know him? Do you know what you don't know?

절대 주권자 앞에서의 지혜로운 자세(1-4)

장례 일을 알지 못할 때의 지혜(5-8)

누가 지혜 자와 같으며(1a)

누가 사물의 이치를 아는 자이냐(1b)

사람의 지혜는 그의 얼굴에 광채가 나게 하나니(1c)

그의 얼굴의 사나운 것이 변하니라(1d)

내가 권하노라 왕의 명령을 지키라(2a)

이미 하나님을 가리켜 맹세하였음이니라(2b)

왕 앞에서 물러가기를 급하게 하지 말며(3a)

악한 것을 일삼지 말라(3b)

-

왕은 자기가 하고자 하는 것을 다 행함이니라(3c)

왕의 말은 권능이 있나니(4a)

누가 그에게 이르기를(4b)

왕께서 무엇을 하시나이까? 할 수 있으랴(4c)

명령을 지키는 자는 불행을 알지 못하리라(5a)

지혜자의 마음은 때와 판단을 분변하나니(5b)

무슨 일에든지 때와 판단 이 있음으로(6a)

사람에게 임하는 화가 심함이니라(6b)

사람이 장래 일을 알지 못하나니(7a)

장래 일을 가르칠 자가 누구이랴(7b)

바람을 주장하여(8a)

바람을 움직이게 할 사람도 없고(8b)

죽는 날을 주장할 사람도 없으며(8c)

전쟁할 때를 모면할 사람도 없으니(8d)

악이 그의 주민들을 건져낼 수는 없느니라(8e)

지혜의 근원이신 주님,

사물의 이치를 아는 지혜가 참 귀하지만 진정한 지혜는 그 이치를

모르는 것을 인정하는 것이나이다. 나의 인간적인 한계와 무지함을

인정하며 하나님께 나아가오니, 제게 주신 사명이 무엇인지 알고

그 뜻을 따라 살게 하소서. 권위에 순종하며, 때를 분별하게 하시되

눈앞에 일과 육신의 욕심 때문에 어리석은 일을 되풀이 않게 하시고

위에 계신 하나님을 바라보며 사는 지혜로운 성도가 되게 하옵소서.

세상의 헛된 것을 바라고 자랑하지 말게 하옵소서.

O Lord, the source of wisdom
The wisdom of knowing the reason of things is very precious,

but the true wisdom is to admit not knowing the reason.

Recognizing my human limitations and ignorance,

I am going to God. Know what the mission is for me and

let me live according to its will. Be a wise saint who obeys

authority and knows the time, but does not repeat foolish

things because of work and body greed in front of him,

and lives looking at God above him.
Let us hope and not boast of the world's futility.
